Two shootings in Avondale ... IN ONE DAY!

Good morning, everyone, it's 12:26am. I don't even know where to begin this morning. The neighborhood has gone totally insane. Litterally. I thought Friday was crazy. Yesterday has been ... off the chain. We had one shooting (with several fights following it) at 3820 W George yesterday around 2:30pm. Read yesterday's post on that one. Then the big shooting happened. At 11:23pm. Four shots were fired. Several people, including us, called it in. Right after that, a male was shot at George and Ridgeway. He was rushed to Norweigan Hospital by a friend. Two crime scenes were found. Not one, but two. The first one was found at George and Ridgeway, then the second one was found at 2815 N Ridgeway. As of 12:25am, the entire 2800 block of N Ridgeway is still blocked off by the crime scene tape. The vitcim is said to live right on the block. I am shocked. Now people on my block are going to be shot?? What is this neighborhood coming to?! You damn right I'm pissed off. This is abouselty UNCALLED FOR! I hope the hell the cops find these little punks who did this shooting. I'm tired of this B.S! To the police: PLEASE, WALK THE BEAT!! Here is crime for today, folks. Be extra careful out there today.

12:11am - Male White/Hispanic took off from Beat 4435 at Lawndale and Altgeld in a blue Saber.

Tim: I was very happy to hear you and your family are OK.

It's getting harsher and harsher out on the streets of Chicago, don't you think?

Stay safe. As you possibly can. What you are doing, with the blog, for your community is not only helpful, but courageous!

We're a little shaken up (who wouldn't be?) but doing okay.

I agree that it's getting harsher on the streets, which is why I stay in most of the time (other then going to school). You can't even walk down Diversey without stuff popping off.

You stay safe, too. I've heard about all the stuff in Rogers Park lately and it's just insane.
