Crime blotter for February 25, 2009

G00d morning, everyone, it's 10:17am. Well, I'm in Computer class at school (obviously I finished my work, LOL). School's been great for me so far. This morning, in the 6am hour, there was two parker calls (forgot where now), but that's it. Have a great day, everyone, and I'll be back later. Here is crime for this afternoon/evening.

About 11am - A good source of mine had to do some shopping today at the Walgreen's at Diversey and Pulaski. When they came out to head home, there was a huge crowd of gangbangers out there. My source went in to wait for the crowd to disappear, but when they were in heading in there, some of the crowd were following my source. Walgreen's security called police. Some gangbangers were reported as shouting something at another group of gangbangers. As my source left the area, sirens were heard. This is insane. I'll have coverage about gang fights today.

3:38pm - Battery in progress. Fullerton and Ridgeway. Gang fight happening.

3:41pm - Beat car 2535 gets some parkers on the box.

3:44pm - Narcotics. 2300 N Karlov. Male Hispanic with a doo rag, black hoodie and blue jeans is shooting up drugs in the alley. Also, the 3:38pm job is coded out 19Boy.

3:47pm - Burglary report. 4400 W Diversey. No further information.

3:48pm - Burglary in progress. 2343 N Ridgeway. Someone's breaking in and stole the caller's purse.

3:51pm - A slow down is given at the 3:48pm job. It's domestic related.

3:58pm - The 3:48pm is coded out 18Boy.

4:12pm - Now someone's breaking windows at the 3:48pm job.

4:20pm - Deceptive practice. 2958 N Milwaukee. At the Park National Bank. A female Black did something to another woman's money or something.

4:21pm - Now it's a Hold up alarm at the 4:20pm j0b. Update, at 4:25pm: I spot a police car speeding towards the job at the Bank.

4:26pm - A slow down is given at the 4:20/4:21pm jobs per 14th district units on scene. 2523 is needed for paper. The employees at the bank triggered the alarm because of the woman.

4:36pm - Beat 2523 mobiles with 2573 and needs them to come by.

4:45pm - The 3:44pm job is coded out 19Paul.

4:52pm - Gang disturbance. 2400 block of N Lowell. Gang members on the corner.

4:54pm - Check the well being. Fullerton and Avers. 4 year old male crying on the corner.

4:58pm - Beat car 2525 has a community corner check at 2241 N Keeler. They're also running a plate.

4:59pm - The plate comes back clear and valid.

5:00pm - A unit is at Fullerton and Tripp and says something about a car with people who may have guns in the car.

5:01pm - Beat 6755Adam spots the 5:00pm car pulling into the parking lot of the YMCA at Lawndale and Cortland.

5:02pm - The car driving around in the parking lot. Multiple units enroute.

5:03 to 5:06pm - Police/dispatch chatter regarding the 5:00pm thing.

5:22pm - Assault in progress. North and Springfield. Three males, one with a red sweater, shorts and with a bat are harassing passing people driving by.

5:30pm - Beat car 2525 doesn't see anybody on the 5:22pm job. Dispatch informs that the males are heading east.

5:36pm - 1) Beat 2524 is transporting one to Homan Square from the 5:00-5:06pm incident. 2) 2566David is taking a female into 25 from that incident as well.

5:48pm - Disturbance. 2345 N Ridgeway. Some more male/female drama I guess.

5:51pm - Beat car 2521 has a traffic stop at Harding and Wrightwood.

6:00pm - One of the units has a traffic stop somewhere on Harding.

6:01pm - Beat 2525 asks for a call back on the 5:48pm job. Dispatch can't do it since she's by herself.

6:03pm - Beat car 2525 codes out the 5:48pm job as 19Paul.

6:04pm - 1) Gang disturbance. 3700 W Fullerton. Gang members hanging out. Caller wants them moved along. 2) Municipal ordinance violation. 2755 N Lawndale. Garbage truck dumped garbage in the alley.

6:07pm - Gang disturbance. Armitage and Pulaski. Seven gang members flashing signs on a corner.

6:21pm - Support unit request. 2615 N Hamlin. Beat 1032 needs 2524 to tell someone that their car is at 1716 S. Western (the impounds), not able to be driven.

6:37pm - I have to go eat now. I'll be back soon.

7:16pm - I'm finally back. I had an extended dinner tonight.

7:22pm - 1) Disturbance. Konster and Diversey. Intoxicated male is in the parking lot of the Mexican restaurant, refusing to get up. If EMS is needed, they'll call for it. 2) Disturbance. 3940 W Fullerton. At CVS. 11 yr old male is refusing to leave.

7:47pm - Parker. 3100 N Tripp. Semi blocking something.

7:55pm - I'm going to go now. Good night, everyone.
