Parker On 2525's Beat, Kid Hit By Car @ ASPIRA

Good morning, everyone, it's 6:55am. It's a sunny morning with temps in the upper 60s, and today will be sunny with temps in the lower to mid 90s. Monitoring 25 on this last day of August. As you all know, this is the Labor Day holiday weekend, meaning that summer is, unofficially, over in Chicago. The beaches will no longer be open, all of the schools go back and other things. That also means I change my monitoring schedule back to pre-summer monitoring, which means I won't be making the effort to monitor all day everyday. I will still be updating just about everyday, but my hours will be cut short. This will go in effect after this weekend. This year, I will be doing something different, though. As you all know, I used to monitor from after my dinner until about midnight or so on Saturdays and from 8am or so until my dinner on Sundays. That will no longer be the case. I will now be monitoring before my dinner on Saturdays and after my dinner on Sundays. Also, depending on just how busy my college life gets, I might set a schedule for monitoring on weekdays also. Backlog In 25, Recover Stolen Vehicle On Pulaski

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 6pm. Yes, I'm finally back from blog vacation. How's everyone been? I've missed you guys, but I really did need a few days away. Hope there's been no major incidents while I was gone. I started my first day of college today at Wilbur Wright College, and I loved just about every minute of it. It's nothing like high school at all. So much freedom, new faces and most importantly, interesting classes. I have four classes, which are English 101, two Foundational Studies Math classes and Criminal Justice 102. English and Criminal Justice were the best ones. I can't describe to all of you how fantastic of a day I've had, but it was great, and I'm really looking forward to college. It's a step closer to my dreams and I finally get to work towards my degree and career goals. Well, enough said for now. Here's crime for this afternoon and evening.

7:03pm - Backlog in 25 at 19:03 hours.

9:27pm - Recover the stolen vehicle. 39XX W Cortland.

9:56pm - Beat 1565 is doing a search warrant execution at 17XX N Pulaski.

10:00pm - I'm totally exhausted from my first day of class, and I need to do some things before I go to bed, so I'm going to go get those things done. Have a good night, everyone, and I'll be back tomorrow :). Just so you all know, but I don't have class tomorrow. I go back on Wednesday.

** Important Anouncement Re: Interview Request - Please Read **

Good afternoon, everyone. Hope all is well with everyone. I'm having a nice time off from blogging and I'm just enjoying my last days off before becoming a college student. With that said, I need a favor, particularly from any one of my older and more loyal readers, if anyone would be so kind to help me out. I had an interview earlier today with a grad student from Northwestern College for a story she's doing on my blog, and her editor has the deadline for her story being tomorrow, and if anyone in the area would be interested to speaking to her either in person or on the phone, that would be greatly appreciated. She needs more than one source (me) for my story, and another source will be my mother, but another source is needed. She is in the area this evening if anyone is willing to talk to her. She probably would just like to ask some questions about how long you've been reading, how you feel about the blog, crime in the area, me, etc. Shouldn't be that many questions.

If you are interested, please email me at weatherboy58@hotmail.com ASAP, so I can forward you her contact information. She says that tonight or tomorrow would work, but she does need the story done by tomorrow. Anyone who does this would have my unspeakable appreciation, and next month, I will invite you out for dinner, with the food and what not payed for by me. Or, if that doesn't float in your boat (LOL), I will  take your requests for what Zones to cover and your preferred time period for me to cover.

Thanks so much in advance!

Timmy

After today, I'm going on blog vacation, although I will have a post up tomorrow and Thursday from two CAPS Beat meetings that occurred a month ago. But I need time away from the radio before I start my college classes on Monday. I will return blogging when I get home from my classes on Monday evening. If anyone has a scanner, or would like to listen to RadioReference, please feel free to cover crime in the area. Just send me an email with whatever you have and I'll give you credit for listening. With that, here's crime for this morning and afternoon.

2:44pm - Disturbance. 3018 N Milwaukee Ave. At the Danny's Liquor. Male causing a problem in the store.

2:45pm - Beat 2544 is giving Beat car 2523, the assigned unit to the 2:44pm job, a disregard. He's on scene and the guy's gone.

4:11pm - Disturbance. 4022 W Armitage. Three males blocking the door.

4:56pm - Just FYI, everyone, but there's been some shooting near the far west end of the coverage area, a little southwest of the Fullerton and Kostner area, over on 2522's Beat. The majority of the shooting just happened on the 2100 and 2200 blocks of N Kenneth, and by Hermosa Park. MLDs played a role. Just letting everyone know who lives on 2524's Beat right near the Kelvyn Park area know in case something goes down later.

5:00pm - I'm going to go. I'll be back on Monday, but I'll have two Beat meeting posts up tomorrow and Thursday, respectively. Please do let me know if any major incidents occur in the area, though. Going on my blog vacation beginning now. I hope everyone has a great week and stays safe!

Hopefully this school year will be better than most, and maybe it will, as the kids go longer now. Elementary schools go 7 hours and high schools go 7.5 hours. I'll be monitoring the schools tomorrow and Wednesday as well. Community Violence: Two Batteries And A Break-In

Good morning, everyone. I really do apologize if I'm nearly a week a late on all of this, thus not making this blog as reliable as a source as it should be, but I've been extremely busy in my personal life and haven't really had the time to do posts like this. But I will get to the subject at hand, and it's regarding some community violence that occurred earlier this week, around last weekend's time to be exact. But I still think everyone needs to be aware of what's happened. In this list of incidents I'll be taking about, I'll be going by the most serious crime first.

Last Sunday, on the 29th, I received word of a battery that occurred at Wrightwood and Sawyer around 4pm. Apparently a woman was attacked and robbed in the alley in between an apartment building at 2537-2539 N Sawyer and the church at 3235 W. Wrightwood, which would be the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints. According to the source I received this information from, the woman was walking by herself in the alley when she was attacked and robbed by a lone man. He allegedly struck her in the face with a stick, which the source says a detective said that she may lose her right eye.

On the same above date, except later in the evening around 11pm, another battery was reported at Springfield and Wellington. According to an email I received on it, a dark-colored (black, maybe navy) SUV stopped in the middle of the intersection and the passengers got out, then proceeded to beat on each other relentlessly for a good two minutes. The person who reported this says that it was difficult to figure out what exactly was happening. I have a description of one offender, and he was a male Hispanic in his mid 20s to late 30s with a buzzed haircut, last seen wearing a white/gray thick-striped shirt.

Finally, I will get to the break-in. This occurred on Monday, the 30th, in the southeast part of Logan Square. According to what I have, someone's boyfriend heard rummaging in the kitchen of a residence over there, and saw a male Black breaking in through their kitchen window. The boyfriend noticed him, made him drop everything and he ran off. Sounds like nothing happened, right? Nope. Then the person went on to say that this guy broke into the upstairs neighbor's apartment with a crowbar, which pried the back door of that apartment open. The neighbors discovered it when they came home from work. Missing was money, TV, a sound system, etc.

I know all of this doesn't really sound like much, and I know it's delayed information, but I figure that all of you should still know. I have said this countless times, but will say it again. Call 911, obviously, when you see something happening. But not only call when something's happen. Also call when you spot suspicious characters on your block, around your property, etc. Watch your surroundings and observe people around you. Also especially look out for women who are walking alone, or those who have really young children. Keep a special eye out on the elderly and disabled as well. Get to know your neighbors, and attend your CAPS meeting. Call your alderman, too.

Thank you,
Timmy
