New Year's Eve 2014

Good evening, everyone! It's 10:51pm. Happy New Year's Eve to all! Yes, I am blogging, but for this evening only crossing into the first few hours of tomorrow morning as we celebrate the end of 2014 and start the new year of 2015. Being reflective, I can honestly say that this has been an amazing year in my personal life, as a lot of great things have happened, It's been a good year for my family as well. For this blog, it's been the quietest year since I started back in 2008. As you all know, in July of this year, I made the announcement that I was no longer going to do the blog regularly because I didn't have the time and did lose interest, and you all did not see a lot of effort on my end. To be completely honest, a part of me feels great to have made the decision because I've been leading an awfully busy life and it has taken some responsibility off of my hands, but I also am a bit disappointed that I didn't continue the effort of helping to keeping our neighborhood safe and enjoyable for all. I sincerely hope and pray that as this year has gone on, there has been great community involvement in all parts of the area and that the neighborhood has been the most quiet anyone has ever seen. Most importantly, it is my hope that all of you had an absolutely amazing year. But now that we're going into 2015, our best days are still yet to come. It's time to say goodbye to 2014 and ring in a new year of new ideas, new opportunities, new energy, etc. I have confidence that our neighborhood will only continue to improve even more and that more community involvement will come. As far as my status of doing this blog goes, I still do not have much time to regularly update nor do I feel like I have enough passion to resume this blog regularly. I am honestly hoping that I am inspired to update this blog again on a regular basis in 2015, and being confident that I somehow will, I will return sometime in 2015, most likely between March and June. Before I come back, I will give advanced notice and will prepare to make a full comeback. Until then, please enjoy tonight's coverage. I will be covering 25 this evening as we go into the new year. I am unfortunately not able to listen to 14 and 17 at the same time. What I plan on doing is getting my subscription renewed for RadioReference by next week, and when that happens, I will start to listen to archives. With that, here's crime for this last evening of 2014.

10:56pm - Assault. 19XX N Ridgeway. Three or four male Hispanics in a white Honda with tinted windows chased the caller and bumped their vehicle, fled south on Hamlin from Cortland.

BULLETIN: Update From Tim/Archives Status

Hello, everyone! I hope all of you are doing well and have had a very Merry Christmas and holiday season. I do want to wish all of you well and hope all of you have been doing great. I sincerely apologize for all of those out there who were let down by my announcement in July 2014 when I announced that I was ending this blog. I am hoping that the neighborhood outside of my immediate area has been very quiet and despite my absence from being involved, things continue to improve. To give a brief update on what I'm doing nowadays and everything, I still attend Wright College and will be graduating in May with my Associate's in Criminal Justice, though Criminal Justice is not a field I really want to go into anymore. With the job I had over the summer, it changed my mind a lot on what exactly it is I want to do. I am planning on going into Business Administration or in a related field so that I can work and have a career in an office environment, serving others. Though, I may also go into a career related in Criminal Justice. I have a number of plans and time will just have to tell what God wants me to do (I am a born-again Christian for those who did not know, and not ashamed whatsoever to admit it). I am still involved in Student Government at school. I'll only have two classes this upcoming semester, plan to still be involved in SGA and I am also currently job hunting, trying to find a part-time position (which, actually, is pretty promising for one particular job I applied for at school). My time management skills are still pretty bad, and I still have a lot of obligations to fulfill. Lastly, I still have a LOT of archives from this blog from months and years ago, going back to I think 2012, to listen to. Which brings me to the point of doing this post. I wanted to let all of you that as of this evening, I am going to FINALLY begin posting calls and/or posts from archives I have during the time I blogged.

With that said, here is the latest status on whether this blog will permanently end or not. In all honestly, I do not have much time right now to keep the blog updated daily or even once a week. There is simply too much I still need to get done. Though, with me being on break from school from January 12th, there is a good chance that I will be able to catch up on a lot of archives as well as personal things. So with that said, if everything works out the way I plan for it to, I plan on making a full come back for this blog by March or April. By that time, I also want to begin putting my foot back in the door of neighborhood involvement. Since I ended this blog in July, I have not attended any community meetings or CAPS Beat meetings. I would my own CAPS meetings for my Beat, but I'm taking a class this semester that conflicts with the time of my Beat meetings.

Please find below the list of archives I will be starting tonight, December 26, 2014:
  • Friday, September 7, 2012 from 11:12am to 3:00pm (Zone 3)
  • Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 8:22pm to midnight (Zone 3)

If anyone wants to at all help keep this effort for the remainder of 2014 into 2015, or to even contribute ideas, please do let me know. I will still be checking my crime blotter e-mail address (avondalelscrimeblotter@gmail.com). The Facebook page was deleted due to inactivity, but if and when I make a come back, I will create a new one. I will also have a Twitter account. The blog will NOT be deleted, as I want to keep it up to give people an idea of how things have happened over the years, and there is possibility that I may return in the near future. I truly want to have this effort keep going. There are not many words I can describe to say how I would feel if there was another strong leader who could take charge and pick up from where I left off. I want this momentum to be revived and brought back to my original vision of being a neighborhood voice, to unify people and keep each other informed.

Truly Yours,
Tim "Timmy" Granzow
