Announcement From Timmy Regarding Internet Connection

Good afternoon, everyone. I hope all of you are having a fantastic day and enjoying the last of summer. I just wanted to let all of you know that I will not be able to blog until at least Monday, as the internet connection at my home has been severely disrupted by an interference on our next-door neighbor's part that is going to require our internet provider to come out sometime this weekend to do some work involving changing the wires outside of our building, and in order for them to do that, they must obtain written permission from our landlord, who we are attempting to contact.

I am currently using a computer at my campus' open computer lab, but the lab has shortened hours on Fridays and Saturdays, and is closed on Sundays. Since I will not be able to access my e-mail, I cannot ask anyone to step up for me during my time I am gone, and I am not going to give out my phone number. So unless my co-author, ANON ORG, sees this post and can leave her contact information (e-mail) on this post, there will be no substitute coverage.

I truly and deeply apologize for any inconveniences this has on all of my readers. We are trying to get back online ASAP and you all will be the first to know when I am back.

Have a great day!

Although the majority of the crowds were peaceful and were enjoying it, there were a couple groups of gangbangers going back and forth on bikes. I'm not surprised. I'll be keeping an eye on things, as usual. With that, here's crime for today.

1:17am - Shots Fired. Wrightwood and Springfield. Group of males fired off a couple of shots.

1:18am - Just FYI to everyone out there: about 10 minutes ago, we had approximately seven to nine males, most likely gang members, arguing really loud on the 2800 block of N. Ridgeway, which is my block. That's the reason why I'm back monitoring for a little bit. They fled in different directions. I'm letting those of you know who are up overnight so that you are aware. I'm disappointed, because my block has been so quiet for almost a year now, and I want it to definitely stay that way.

1:35am - Gang disturbance. 28XX N Hamlin. Five to six males outside flashing gang signs. Oh Lord....

1:42am - Beat 2563Charlie, along with Beats 2563David and 2563Eddie, was flagged down on their way back from Area North over at Central Park and Belmont regarding a large fight that just broke out on CTA bus #6714. It's facing west on Belmont, on 17's side. The fighters just got on the bus from the bar over there. Everything is under control for now, but a 17th District unit or two is needed. Dispatch will notify them.

1:48am - Beat car 2523Robert is getting some stuff on their PDT.

Recovery At A1 Towing On California, Car Alarm On Central Park

Good morning, everyone, it's 7:52am. I'm monitoring 14 from now until about 10am or so, then I'll switch over to 25. I will finish monitoring 14 in a couple of days. The main reason why I want to monitor 25 today is because of the St. Hyacinth's Carnival today. It goes from today until Sunday evening, and it starts at 6pm today then goes until 11. Not sure of the rest of the hours, but I'm pretty sure they're the same as they are every year. 10:01pm - Beat 2561Eddie is detailed to the St. Hyacinth's Carnival for a little bit as the crowds disperse for tonight.

Men Loitering On Hamlin, Loud Music On Diversey

Good morning, everyone, it's 12am. I'm monitoring 25 from now until the first call after midnight, then I'll go to bed and cover 17 all day today after I wake up. Sorry for no post yesterday, at this time. I have an archive from yesterday that I'm working on, but I will tell you guys this. I was busy in the morning and I signed on at 2:06pm, and heard practically nothing until around 4:30. It was really quiet yesterday. The weather has been nice, with temps in the 70s, so maybe that's the reason :). But, to me, the whole neighborhood has been noticeably quieter this summer. All three districts. The only problem areas I really notice in our area now is the area in and around Kelvyn Park, and on Springfield just north of Koz Park. Other than that, the neighborhood is quiet. Please do let me know what you guys think, though. With that, here's crime for today.

12:02am - Disturbance. 30XX N Hamlin. Group of several men loitering in the alley.

12:21am - Loud music disturbance. 3943 W Diversey.

12:22am - I'm going to go for the night. I'll be back in the morning. Have a good night, everyone.

6:55am - I'm back, with 17. Good morning, everyone.

12:00pm hour - I think there might have been a call, but one only, and if there was, it was probably a parker or a very minor disturbance. Either way, not much has happened at all today.

3:19pm - Burglar alarm. 34XX N Ridgeway.

6:10pm to 6:35pm - Again, I didn’t listen to the radio. I’m sorry, guys. I’ll get this time period sometime this week or this weekend. We’ll see, but I will do this.

7:47pm - I have to go eat. I’ll be back in a little while.

8:27pm - I’m back. Good evening, everyone.

8:52pm - Check the well being. 33XX N Ridgeway. Brother says that someone might be breaking into their basement.

Gangbangers Loiter On Fullerton

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 2:06pm. Sorry I'm late, guys. I've had too much to do today, even though I'm supposed to just be resting on my two weeks off from everything before I go back to school in a week and a half. Today, I'm monitoring 25 from now until midnight, then I'll be covering 17 tomorrow, followed by 14 on Thursday. After Thursday, this will be the last time I cover 14 and 17 for a few days. I will be covering 25 beginning Friday into the weekend. With that, here's crime for this afternoon and evening.

4:21pm - Gang disturbance. 3624 W Fullerton. Group loitering near the corner.

4:45pm - I have to go for a few hours. I'm really sorry about this, guys. I've been so busy and things I need to take care just keep popping up. I will definitely be making up for all of this missed time on Monday.

7:50pm - I'm back. Good evening, everyone.

Car Blocks Driveway On Central Park, Traffic Accident @ Barry/Pulaski

Good morning, everyone, it's 10:28am. I'm monitoring 25 today and then 14 most of the day tomorrow, followed by some more 25 in the evening and on Tuesday as well. I will be covering 17 on Wednesday and 14 again on Thursday. Since I am once again unemployed, and will be for a while, as I did not get hired for the most recent job I applied for, I'm going to try my absolute best in the next two weeks to really catch up on all of the recordings I have so that I can catch up on all the monitoring I've missed all summer. However, truth be told, on some days, I did listen to the area and didn't hear much at all. It has been my perception that the neighborhood has gotten so much quieter, at least that's what I can see in my own neighborhood. My block has been so quiet all summer and that's a miracle, considering how crazy it had been for the last couple of years. I truly hope the entire community has been quiet. Well, with that, here's crime for today.

10:40am - Parker. 17XX N Central Park. Car blocking a driveway.

12:07pm - Traffic accident. Barry and Pulaski. Two cars, injuries. EMS is en route.

1:59pm - Loud music disturbance. 3100 block of N Davlin.

3:05pm - Parker. On 2523's Beat.

3:12pm - Traffic accident. 26XX N Central Park. Someone hit the caller's car.

3:27pm - Robbery. 36XX W Wolfram. Unknown two male Hispanics, one with a gray t-shirt and blue jeans and the other one who was on a bike, punched the 19 year old brother and took his house keys. There was mention of a gun. They fled towards Central Park on Wolfram.

4:15pm - Beat 2583 is doing foot patrol on the 4400 block of W Diversey this afternoon. Event number is 11131.

4:32pm - Disturbance. On 2523's Beat. Males loitering.

4:45pm - Beat car 2521 needs another car at 28XX N Springfield from a domestic job. Beat car 2525 is on the way over. Beat 2520 is on his way over too, because this is going to require a forced entry. This is as a result of a domestic that was called in an hour ago at this location and there's been a lot of history at this place with DCFS and what not, so a forced entry is needed.

4:50pm - Backlog in 25 at 16:50 hours.

4:51pm - Check the well being. Springfield and North Ave. 9 year old is lost and doesn't know his way home.

6:58pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.

7:14pm - I'm back. Good evening, everyone.

8:02pm - I've ran into a bit of an unfortunate situation which will require me to go for a couple of hours. I may or may not be back tonight, but we'll see. If not, have a good night, everyone, and see you all tomorrow!

11:00pm - I'm finally back. Good evening, everyone.

12:00am - I'm going to go for the night. I'll be back in the morning. Have a good night, everyone!

Good morning, everyone, it's 7:50am. I'm monitoring 14 this morning from now until 8:45am. I'm kind of in a rush at the moment, so I can't really lay out my monitoring plans. I will when I return home from my last day of training for the youth program, which ends today. I have successfully held down my first job and it feels good :). I hate that I'm leaving my job, though [I was reassigned this week to a new work location and fell in love with it]. Still hoping I hear about another job I had applied for and had an interview for. But enough of me. Here's crime for portions of today.

6:36pm - Fire. 22XX W Belden. Something about a car smoking up.

I should be home around 11 or so, and at that time, I will monitor 14 for the remainder of the day. I believe I am monitoring 25 and 17 tomorrow at specific time periods. Lastly, this week, I only have the 25th District's National Night Out event to attend, which is tomorrow at 6pm. With that, here's crime for portions of today.

6:02am - Burglar alarm. 2737 N Elston.

Good morning, everyone, it's 5:08am. I'm monitoring 17 for residents north of Belmont and will be monitoring 14 most of tomorrow, then I'm going to monitor 25 and 14 at specific time periods Tuesday and Wednesday. The only thing I have to do this week is attend the 25th District's National Night Out at the 25th District station on Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm and wait for a phone call regarding a job I was interviewed for this past week. Other than that, I'll just be getting ready for school in a few weeks. With that, here's crime for today.

DOA On Monticello, Man Wanted For Battery On Lowell

Good morning, everyone, it's 8:45am. I'm monitoring 25 today and will be monitoring 17 tomorrow, then I plan on monitoring 14 on Monday. Sorry I've been gone for the last few days, guys, but my I've been low on energy and have been feeling a little down. The internship I was on was getting worse and worse for me, so I resigned yesterday. I know many will be disappointed in me, but the boss I had was just downright nasty to me at every turn. Plus, the program itself has been horrible, and I do NOT recommend anyone to sign their youths up for it next year. Last week was our last week anyway, so I'm not disappointed in myself. Besides, I had a job interview on Thursday at one of the Chicago Public Schools for a bus aide position, and it looks very promising. I'll know by Monday or Tuesday if I got this job. I really do hope I get it. I would love to work with youths with Special Needs once again. Well, anyway, here's crime for today.
