Windy Sunday in Chicago

Good morning, everyone, it's 7:28am on this windy Sunday in Chicago, December 14, 2008. At about 4 or 5am this morning, some kind of Arson occurred at 3630 W Armitage. I really don't know any details since I just woke up about 10 minutes ago, but from what I've heard, Bomb and Arson is going to the scene and traffic is blocked. Also, I may have to start covering areas south of North Avenue on 2535's beat, with all the crazy stuff that's been going on down there for the last three days. Now here is crime for today.

8:00am - Everyone is still on scene at 3630 W Armitage

8:08am - An alarm is going off at 3636 W Armitage.

8:34am - Domestic Battery. 3644 W Diversey. Male hit his girlfriend and her roommate.

8:39am - The 8:34am job is a bit confusing. The caller's coming from Streamwood. It's not known if the caller is calling for the roommate or not.

9:00am - It appears that everything at 3630 W Armitage is over now. 2525 midnight is heading in.

9:16am - Beat car 5817 (from Bomb and Arson) is mobling with beat 2525 midnight.

9:47am - Hit and run accident. 4132 W George. Someone hit a parked car and kept going.

10:48am - An alarm is going off at 1807 N Harding.

12:44pm - A special roll call is being held at Belmont and Narragansett per beat 1600 at 13:00 hours. It's dedicated to the daughter of an officer who was killed in the line of duty about 10 years ago. All cars from 15th and 25th districts are invited to attend.

1:25pm - Domestic disturbance. 4402 W Altgeld. Someone's having a problem with her husband.

2:06pm - Check the well being. 3750 W Palmer. Kids are left by theirselves.

2:20 to 2:23pm - Multiple and multiple calls of a Battery in progress at Grand/Wabansia/North and Konster. Calls include males beating on one, female chasing some males, security chasing some males and people fighting.

2:25pm - A slow down is given at the 2:20 to 2:23pm jobs, though 2568 asks for 2568Adam to come over there.

2:26pm - Beat 2534 asks for a wagon. 2573 says they'll go.

2:28pm - 2534 tells the wagon to disregard. He needs an ambulance instead for someone who was beaten up.

2:33pm - My mom is going to take the radio for an hour, then I'll get it back.
--------------------
5:51pm - Yes, I'm finally back. I know it was much longer than an hour, lol.

5:58pm - EMERGENCY in 15. Male Black is running eastbound on Iowa from Lorel.

6:24pm - Domestic disturbance. 1634 N Hamlin. Someone's having a problem with a boyfriend or husband.

6:25pm - Parker (I think) at Pulaski and Palmer.

6:26pm - Disturbance. 2250 N Springfield. Too many people on scene. This job requires a Spanish speaker.

6:37pm - Parker. 3628 W Wolfram. No further information.

6:42pm - The address on the 6:37pm job has changed to 3628 W George.

About 6:51pm - Beat car 2590 asks for beat car 2543 to do an anti-violence mission from Division to North and Central Park to Pulaski. 2590 also asks 2543 to consecrate on the 1300 and 1400 blocks of North Avers, where crazy stuff has been happening for a few days, including a couple of shots fired at Hirsch and Avers a little earlier. It's good to see something hopefully being done about all that crazy stuff going on down there.

7:33pm - I have to go do my stuff before bed. Good night, everyone. I'll write down anything I hear before I head to bed. I'll be back tomorrow with more of crime blotter and an article on my observations of school from last week.

7:39pm - Holding the offender. Schubert and Pulaski. A male was caught trying to break into the vitcim's car.

7:54pm - Traffic accident. 2450 N Central Park. No further information.
