This is the first I'm hearing about this, even though it occurred last Sunday (the 8th). This is the first murder (and hopefully last) in Avondale for 2009. Apparently, a 24-yr-old man was beaten to death in his home on the 3300 block of North Harding. Firefighters were putting out a fire, at about 4:15am in the morning, in a basement of a building on that block when they found the vitcim. He had suffered various injuries from an assault.
