Good morning, everyone, it's 7:53am. It's a sunny morning with temps in the upper 70s, and it'll be sunny with temps in the mid 90s today. Going to be a hot one. Monitoring 25 today, and I'll be monitoring 17 tomorrow for all of you who live North of Belmont. Like I said yesterday, I promise to do better monitoring today than I did yesterday. With that, here's crime for today.
8:20am - Parker. On 2523's Beat.
12:07pm - Burglary in progress. 25XX N Avers. Caller hears someone breaking into the 1st floor apartment.
12:12pm - Beat 2562Adam is giving a disregard on Avers. It's a 19P.
12:15pm - 2562A has a handwaver at Diversey and Ridgeway. The person's asking if CPD received any calls of "Shots Fired" at this intersection. I live right by there and haven't heard a thing all day. Dispatch says they haven't gotten any calls either. But anyway, they're saying that a male Hispanic with a white baggy t-shirt and green shorts, along with a star tattoo under his right eye allegedly fired a round at the corner then fled down Ridgeway towards Schubert. Offender is short and is very slim build. Beat 6750 is also in the area and is looking.
12:18pm - 6750 hasn't seen anyone fitting that description in the area yet.
12:20pm - Parker. On 2523's Beat.
12:22pm - Beat 2573 has a handwaver at Lawndale and Wrightwood, who says that the offender from Diversey/Ridgeway just went north on Lawndale on a dirt bike. 2573 is driving up Lawndale now.
12:24pm - 2573 is following the person now in the 2500 block of N Avers. He's with another male on a bike with a gray shirt. This is the same block where that burglary call came in a little while ago too, ironically.
12:27pm - 2573 has them stopped at Altgeld and Avers, and 6750 is with them. A slow down is being given.
12:35pm - 2573 is clear from over there. 6750 might still have them, though.
12:56pm - Beat car 2525 has a handwaver at 21XX N Karlov about something regarding a car theft or recovery.
1:25pm - Person w/ a knife. 3625 W Belmont. Male Hispanic with a white shirt and white/black shorts is threatening another guy with a knife in front.
1:28pm - 1) Beat 2520 is giving a slow down at the 1:25pm job. 2) Beat 2582 is doing segway patrol on Fullerton between Kilbourn and Pulaski this afternoon. Event number is 09470.
1:42pm - 1) Disturbance. 3181 N Milwaukee. At the Shell gas station. Male White with a white t-shirt and shorts is smoking and they want him to leave. 2) Beat 2506Henry is checking out a vacant property at 1933 N Lawndale.
1:46pm - 2520 is over at 1933 on Lawndale with 2506H.
1:55pm - Traffic accident. 4424 W Diversey.
2:26pm - Theft. 1834 N Lawndale. At the YMCA. iPhone was stolen.
2:50pm - Traffic accident. Milwaukee and Belmont.
2:52pm - Theft. 19XX N Ridgeway. Air compressor was stolen. Offenders fled in a red van.
3:31pm - Gang disturbance. Kelvyn Park. Near the tennis court, ten males in their late teens are chasing someone and throwing up signs. Running towards Kostner on the Schubert side.
3:38pm - 2562A has a street stop, before they go to the 3:31pm job, at 27XX N Harding, and they're asking for an event number. It's 11767.
3:46pm - Backlog in 25 at 15:46 hours.
4:00pm - A unit has a handwaver in the alley of 25XX N Tripp.
4:07pm - Parker. On 2524's Beat.
4:14pm - Assist the citizen. 44XX W Barry.
7:01pm - Two parkers on 2523's Beat.
7:02pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.

7:27pm - Disturbance. 1627 N Pulaski. At the Walgreen's.
7:34pm -Burglar alarm. 3844 W Belmont. At the bank. Bank is in 17, though. Don't know how this got over.
8:43pm - Parker. 21XX N Karlov.
9:02pm - Narcotics. 27XX N Lawndale.
9:31pm - Assault. 29XX N Lawndale.
9:49pm - Check the well being. 26XX N Harding. Gangbangers were in front, loitering and taunting an off-duty P.O.'s family that lives there.
10:30pm - Burglar alarm. 38XX W Belden. This is at the same exact address that came out at 7:34pm, except it was on Belmont. If it's the same call, this bank is in 17. There's no banks on Belden in this area.
10:45pm - Loud music disturbance. 26XX N Avers.
11:50pm - Person wanted. Wellington and Pulaski.
11:54pm - Battery. 25XX N Kilbourn.
