Good morning, everyone, it's 1:13am. I'm monitoring 25 today through tomorrow into Monday, and on Monday, I will also be doing some monitoring of 14 and 17. Anyway, today is day #3 of the St. Hyacinth's annual carnival. I went over there last night for a little while, and it was crowded. Although the majority of the crowds were peaceful and were enjoying it, there were a couple groups of gangbangers going back and forth on bikes. I'm not surprised. I'll be keeping an eye on things, as usual. With that, here's crime for today.
1:17am - Shots Fired. Wrightwood and Springfield. Group of males fired off a couple of shots.
1:18am - Just FYI to everyone out there: about 10 minutes ago, we had approximately seven to nine males, most likely gang members, arguing really loud on the 2800 block of N. Ridgeway, which is my block. That's the reason why I'm back monitoring for a little bit. They fled in different directions. I'm letting those of you know who are up overnight so that you are aware. I'm disappointed, because my block has been so quiet for almost a year now, and I want it to definitely stay that way.
1:35am - Gang disturbance. 28XX N Hamlin. Five to six males outside flashing gang signs. Oh Lord....
1:42am - Beat 2563Charlie, along with Beats 2563David and 2563Eddie, was flagged down on their way back from Area North over at Central Park and Belmont regarding a large fight that just broke out on CTA bus #6714. It's facing west on Belmont, on 17's side. The fighters just got on the bus from the bar over there. Everything is under control for now, but a 17th District unit or two is needed. Dispatch will notify them.
1:48am - Beat car 2523Robert is getting some stuff on their PDT.
2:16am - Loud music disturbance. 26XX N Avers. Loud party.
2:36am - Some call in the area, I think on 2524Robert's Beat.
2:37am - Gang disturbance. 36XX W Shakespeare. Group of 12 loitering and arguing on the street.

2:38pm - Some call on 2523's Beat. I think it was a burglar alarm.
2:45pm - 1) Disturbance. 23XX N Central Park. Caller's having a problem with the landlord. 2) Parker. On 2525's Beat.
2:53pm - Vice complaint. On 2525's Beat.
3:20pm - Disturbance. 2990 N Milwaukee Ave. Homeless people having a party in the rear.
4:07pm - Commercial alarm. 2121 N Keeler. At the Nixon school.
4:13pm - Open door. 29XX N Kilbourn. 25th District Desk wants to know what's going on at this location as well, for some unknown reason. Beat car 2523, the unit assigned to this, is to let them know.

Why post shooting missions? Shouldn't they do pre-shooting missions to prevent new shootings?
