Good afternoon, everyone, it's 12:55pm. Just another warm/hot day in Chicago, nothing unusual about that. So anyway, I'm going to CAPS Beat 1411's meeting tonight. This will be my second visit to that meeting. When I went in March, it impressed me how much the community was involved, and so I'd like to go back to be a part of that effort. I'll be gone from about 5:45pm to 7:30-ish. With that said, here's crime for this afternoon and evening.
2:20 to 2:50pm - I fell asleep. I'm sorry. I'll try to get an archive on this time period.
3:10pm - Beat 2552 has a hot car heading north on Laramie, towards Grand. It's a white Chevy '98 mid-sized van, according to the officer, with a plate of K769282.
3:11pm - He lost the car on one of those side streets in the area.
3:22pm - There's a group of seven male Hispanics, both adults and teens, loitering on the corner. They're also drinking and won't let people pass. Dispatch did not say where this was taking place, but she assigned it to 2523.
4:23pm - Traffic lights are out at Milwaukee and Belmont.
4:46pm - Beat car 2523 has a traffic stop at Diversey and Hamlin. By the way, the lights at Belmont and Milwaukee are working, according to 2523.
5:03pm - Suspicious person. 26XX N Avers. Male with a jersey and shorts is on his cell phone and keeps walking around the parked cars.
5:34pm - Person wanted. 28XX N Ridgeway. Male wanted for trespassing. He's not supposed to be on scene because he was evicted from the building. There was no indication of what he was wanted for on Dispatch's ticket, so 2523 is coding it. Well, I know what's going on at this building. But if the cops don't want to respond, fine by me. It's not my problem until these people do something to me and my family directly. I'm not calling 911 only to get yelled at.
5:36pm - Municipal ordinance violation. Schubert and Kostner.
5:44pm - I'm gone for a couple of hours. Heading to this Beat meeting.
7:51pm - I'm back. Good evening, everyone.
8:24pm - Ok, so at the 1411 meeting, I realized something. People in our neighborhood really don't know how the 911 system works. It truly bothers me, too, because I feel ALL residents should know how the 911 system works. So, what do I plan on doing about it? Well, I'd like to hold a meeting/discussion to teach everyone how to properly call 911, and teach them how the system works. If anyone has an idea into where I can hold this meeting at (a big, big venue in the community would best fit), please email me at weatherboy58@hotmail.com, or comment here. If anyone can help me get word out about this, I'd greatly appreicate it. It's time our community becomes an informed one. Lastly, if you've got suggestions, please, share them with me. Thank you!
8:26pm - Assault in progress. 37XX W McLean.
9:01pm - Shots Fired. Mozart Park, Dickens/Springfield, 2000 block of N Avers, etc. Multiple, multiple calls coming in for gunshots. Anywhere from four to ten shots fired, gang members shooting, group jumped out of a van, someone's shooting through the park, etc. It's complete chaos there right now. Also getting a "Person Shot" call in front of a location in the 2100 block of N Springfield.
9:02pm - Calls are still coming in for "Shots Fired". There's been over 20 calls already.
9:03pm - No one is shot, but there's a bunch of "jagoffs" hollering and screaming in the background. Multiple units are on the way.
9:53pm - Disturbance. 36XX W Palmer.
9:54pm - Alarm. 31XX N Lowell.
10:43pm - Some job in the 3100 block of N Monticello.
10:50pm - Parker. Ridgeway and George.
11:00pm - I'm going to go. I'll be back tomorrow. Good night, everyone.

Jagoffs hahahaha.
I don't know why the city bought those Tahoes (not even 4WD) for the police. It's a rather large vehicle to try and chase with.
They cant even chase vehicles.
