That damn Ridgeway. That street seems to be a problem area. Perhaps the cops should do a few foot patrols and write some tickets on that block.
Bobbo, The cops should do patrols in this neighborhood and actually pick up a few of the gangbangers and lock them up. Instead after a rash of phone calls about a shooting the cops come by and start writing parking tickets. WTF. Parking is NOT the main issue. Start squeezing the bangers, get them out of here, drive them out with constant police attention and I hope even some flat out harassment.
Did anyone attend the Aspira meeting last night? What a disaster, they want to stick another low performing school to match Schurz and Kelvyn right in the middle of our neighborhood. This is DEAD ON ARRIVAL. Its time for the neighborhood to really fight this.
The gangbangers live there too. The cops can't arrest them for just being gangbangers, they have to do something criminal. Why don't the residents ever sign complaints against them? As long as section 8 housing is there you'll have gangbangers.
On your 8:04 comment, bobbo, since I live here, I should know.
Anonymous 12:43, I agree to that. But you know, CPD doesn't try to harass gang members much because they'll go whining back to ACLU, who will then sue the CPD for harassing them.
Anonymous 12:45, I was there. As a matter of fact, I'm the one who brought up the crime thing in which another man followed up on. And, I agree with you completely. This is a horrible school they're bringing in and we need to fight this all of the way.
bobbo, coming back to you for your 7:57 comment, I second your statement that CPD can't just arrest gang members for being in a gang. As for residents signing complaints, on the other hand, I think many don't because they fear retailation. That's why I don't. I have to admit, even though I am one of the top activists (according to what people say) in the community, when I call 911 regarding gangs and drugs, I always remain anonymous. And the reason I do is because I live with my family and I don't want them to get hurt over anything I've done.
one way to get the gangs off the streets is for the police to just plant some drugs on them , every single time they see them! and then we will see if they hang out anymore! you know they are doing illegal sh.t anyway. and if they get caught so what , one less punk off the streets for a few. citezens need to call on these punks every chance they can.
