Good afternoon, everyone, it's 7:35pm. Spring break is finally here!! I'm so glad. None of you know how happy I am, because school has been so stressful these last two days, especially when dealing with stupid people. Time to focus on me and my community work. And also to get other stuff done. Anyway, I will now tell you all about my monitoring schedule for the next couple of days. I'm monitoring 25 90% of the time, and for the next couple of days, this will be my schedule: I'll be monitoring until midnight tonight, then I will come back in the morning tomorrow and monitor until my dinner time. Then, on Sunday, I will be monitoring after my dinner until the first call after midnight on Monday. On Monday, I may monitor for a short period of time in the morning, but most of the day, I will be on the most southwestern side of our city. In fact, I will almost be out of town. I'm attending a college fair that day. Also, besides the fair, the only other meetings/events I plan on attending on my week off are a CAPS Beat meeting on Wednesday for Beat 1434, and then that's about it. With that, here's crime for this afternoon and evening.
8:03pm - Criminal damage. 3807 W Fullerton. Someone tried to open back door. There are pry marks evident. Thanks to ProdigalOne for obtaining this call for me while I was napping.
8:07pm - This alert, or advisory, is for all citizens and officers in the 25th District: There is a gang war in progress around the area of North and Central. Someone named "Trouble" is supposedly responsible, along with someone named "Ant". Interesting to note that "Trouble" was shot last night on 2515's Beat somewhere. Advisory given for officer safety and alert. Thanks to ProdigalOne for obtaining this call for me while I was napping.
8:26pm - Disturbance. 3167 N Milwaukee. Male sleeping in lobby and refuses to leave. Thanks to ProdigalOne for obtaining this call for me while I was napping.
8:31pm - Person shot. 2431 N Ridgeway. Male reportedly shot from dark 4-door Camry. Thanks to ProdigalOne for obtaining this call for me while I was napping.
Sometime before 9:25pm - Report back shortly after from the 8:31pm call. No victim found, probably not bona fide. Call-back reports that male caller was almost hit by a dark 4-door Camry near that address.
10:52pm - Traffic accident. Barry and Central Park.
11:34pm - Gang disturbance. George and Springfield. Male and female in a smashed up car are flashing gang signs.
11:37pm - More calls starting to come in on the 11:33pm job. Now it's three dudes and the chick. They're circling the area and smashing out car windows.
12:00am - I'm off to bed. I'll see you all in the morning. Have a goodnight, everyone.

2:51a shots fired x2. Maybe 12? Someone was yelling. Car sped off. Dog freaked so I couldn't look. Any news?
Hi Erin, I'm still up, and heard the shots. I heard four at first, then a pause, then six more (about 10). I called in to 911 twice. The gunshots sounded like they were right in front of our house. Also, I saw either a green Nissan or Ford speed down Ridgeway the wrong way (my block is a one way going north) going south, then it made a sharp turn onto Diversey and headed towards Lawndale.
That old guy with the walker is back on Milwaukee. As the weather warms up I've noticed those homeless polish drunks are popping out like flowers.
Hey bobbo, they've been staying in the skeleton house and now at Brenda's place on ridgeway. I see them every morning on my way to work. I've called a million times, but never get a response. A baseball bat and large heavy pipe might be convincing.
bobbo & E...
I live around Diversey & Central and have the same problem. One bright & beautiful morning my children and I returned home. After pulling into my garage, I happened to look up and see a homeless man with his penis out pissing in plain view of me and my kids. At this point I lost it... I brought my kids into my home, went back outside and beat this guys ass. Guess what happened?!? The fire department and police came and I went to jail. After calling 911 & 311 numerous times in the past, I took it into my own hands. I spent the night in a cold cell and had to take two days off of work (the next day after jail and a day off to go to court). The funny thing is the "victim" / homeless man was back the next day. Getting drunk and pissing all over the place. The beat cop knows about the problem, the Alderman knows, the whole neighborhood knows and nobody can do anything. So good luck, but I personally would not resort to the pipe or baseball bat deal. Unless you end up in a situation as I did. Just some advice... I have been there and am still there with ya. Good luck.
If you see bums in your alley urinating just use your garden hose to wash the bum away. These bums are like cats, they hate water. I don't think the cops will care if you squirted one of those alley pisser/drinkers.
Several neighbors and readers I've talked to, bobbo, have said the same thing. I have also noticed this.
E., thank you for that information.
Anonymous, what a story. Just wow. The only thing I have to say about it, in regards to the CPD, they can't lawfully move this guy if he's just standing around. The only time they can do something about him is if he's a danger to himself and others, or committing a crime.
Luke, I like that solution. That's probably something you could do, and you're right, the cops probably wouldn't care.
