Gang Disturbance On North Ave.

Good morning, everyone, it's 12am. It's a warm, clear night in Chi-town, with temps in the upper 70s. It'll remain like that tonight. In the day, it's going to get into the 90s again, although there's a chance for storms. I'm monitoring 25 today, as usual. I'll have the post for the Beat meetings this month later. Here's crime for today.

12:08am - Gang disturbance. 3800 W North Ave. By the liquor store.

12:09am - I'm going to go for the night. I'll be back in the morning. Good night, folks.

8:41am - I'm back. Good morning, everyone.

9:23am - Parker. 2800 block of N Ridgeway. Permits.

9:40am - Assault in progress. Koz Park. Two groups of soccer players arguing.

9:46am - A disregard is being given on the 9:40am job.

10:31am - Burglar report. On 2535's Beat.

11:16am - Beat car 2513 needs an assist car at 3819 W Fullerton.

11:23am - Beat 2506David is on scene with 2513 on Fullerton. They're taking two in.

11:55am - Beat 2582Frank is taking one in from a street stop at 2990 N Milwaukee Ave.

12:13pm - Disturbance. 2920 N Ridgeway. Group of males in the rear of the vacant building.

12:37pm - There's an officer asking if there's a Tornado Warning for Chicago, because the winds are gusting dangerously. The weather's getting REAL bad outside.

12:38pm - Dispatch is saying that the National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the area that's in effect until 13:15 hours (1:15pm). The storm is producing golf ball-sized hail and 60 mph winds.

12:39pm - An officer says it looks like a tornado's about to come down. A second officer agrees. It's almost pitch black out there. Looks dangerous.

12:40pm - Multiple officers are reporting that the weather is insane outside. I can confirm that, absolutely crazy right now.

12:42pm - Flying garbage can somewhere, per an officer.

12:59pm - Loud music disturbance. 18XX N Harding. Loud party in the rear.

1:05pm - Shots Fired. Wrightwood and Monticello. One shot heard, nothing seen. Probably was thunder...

1:08pm - Person w/ a gun. 3624 W Fullerton. Male Hispanic with an orange shirt is by the dumpster in the alley with a gun.

1:11pm - Residential alarm. 17XX N Harding.

1:12pm - A slow down is being given on the 1:08pm job.

3:00pm - Traffic accident. 3192 N Milwaukee Ave.

3:34pm - Found child. 4042 W Armitage. 2 year old found.

5:38pm - 1) Vicious animal. 29XX N Lawndale. Pit bull wondering around in the backyard. 2) Battery. 3080 N Milwaukee Ave.

5:52pm - Theft. 29XX N Lawndale.

6:04pm - They're calling back on the Lawndale vicious animal call.

6:11pm - They're calling back at 3080 Milwaukee.

6:23pm - Open hydrant at 29XX N Lawndale.

6:49pm - 1) They're calling back at the 5:52pm job. It's a criminal trespass now with the neighbors trespassing. 2) Some stuff on 2523's Beat.

7:30pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.

7:50pm - I'm back. Good evening, folks.

8:18pm - 1) Suspicious person. 18XX N Springfield. 2) Gang disturbance. Lawndale and Barry.

9:27pm - Assault in progress. 36XX W Diversey.

9:34pm - Shots Fired. 30XX N Davlin. Six heard.

9:56pm - Shots Fired. McLean and Lawndale. Ten shots heard.

10:09pm - Some call on the 4400 block of W Deming.

10:28pm - 1) Wires down. 36XX W Palmer. 2) Traffic accident. 44XX W Parker. Parked car was hit by a drunk driver.

Several canoe flipped over & the people nearly drowned along the Chicago River at 1pm. There was no Marine units available that day! How could this be when the weather predicted terrible storms??

The Marine unit was probably out writing folks tickets for no fishing licenses.
