I heard that some CAPS meetings are handing out bullet proof vests to protect us citizens this summer. Is this true?

Great turnout at Alderman Reboyras office for open ward night! We are requesting that the commander attend 2523's beat meeting this Wednesday at 6:30 pm at the Copernicus Center. We need a huge showing again on Wednesday to let everyone know that we are going to take the neighborhood back, specifically Ridgway, Oakdale and the surrounding streets. We will not be intimidated not held hostage in our homes because of a handful of gangbangers who think that they can claim out streets!

The gangbangers on our streets also live there too. They are protecting our area from other outside gangbangers.

Not that I know of, anonymous 8:17.

Anonymous 8:55, yep. I agree. Not. They wouldn't harass the local residents if they were "protecting" the neighborhood. Besides, that's what the police are for.

Anonymous 9:10, glad to hear you guys had a great turnout! You don't know how happy that makes me. It's about time us neighbors on Ridgeway take a stand and take our blocks back, as well as the other blocks in the area, and it looks like that's starting now. Good! If you know of anyone on Ridgeway or Oakdale who would like to get a block club/neighborhood watch started, please feel free to have them contact me, and we'll get the ball rolling. I have some experience with block clubs so I can help get it organized. Also, FYI, please let everyone know that the CAPS meeting will be at St. Joesph's on Belmont instead of Copernicus. Copernicus is no longer open past 4:30pm due to staffing issues and they have no one who would be able to open the place for us.
