EMS Run On Woodard/Kimball, Commercial Alarm On Fullerton

Good morning, everyone, it's 7:57am. It's another sunny morning with temps in the upper 70s, and today will get to around 90 with sunshine. Today, I'm monitoring 14 and I plan on doing this all day until midnight. I plan on attending CAPS Beat 1413/1414's meeting this evening at 7pm at the Logan Square Boys and Girls Club on Palmer, but I'll have my microphone set up to the radio to record everything while I'm gone. With that, here's crime for today.


8:02am - EMS run. Woodard and Kimball. Male slumped over the wheel of a vehicle.


8:03am - Commercial alarm. 2654 W Fullerton.


8:06am - Parker. 2924 N Western. Honda with a plate of N330946 is parked on the sidewalk. Dispatch ran the plate and it comes back suspended to someone out of Bensenville.


8:19am - Beat car 1411 is running the owner's name from the 8:06am job. They just showed up.


8:37am - Information for the CPD. Webster and Elston. Truck hit the wires on a pole. The pole's ok but the traffic signals are out.


8:40am - Parker. 28XX N Milwaukee. Car was left in the alley.


8:41am - Disturbance. 17XX N Richmond. Neighbor will not let the caller into the caller's backyard because they're putting siding up on the building.


9:24am - Beat 1444 is doing a CTA check at the California Blue Line station.


9:26am - Residential alarm. 17XX N Winchester.


9:36am - Beat 1443 is doing a follow-up to a burglary at 18XX N Paulina under RD number HV373063.


9:38am - Burglar alarm. 1900 N Western. At the TMC bank.


9:44am - The 9:26am job is being coded 14Paul. There's a housekeeper on scene and it's all taken care of.


9:47am - Beat car 1422 has a traffic stop at 3266 W Fullerton.


9:48am - 1443 needs Dispatch to give him a call regarding the follow-up he's doing. She'll call him.


9:51am - Residential alarm. 31XX W Logan Blvd.


9:53am - EMS run. 2338 N Sacramento. Customer not feeling well at the gas station.


10:00am - 1422 has a street stop at 1900 N Kimball.


10:03am - Burglar alarm. 2134 N Damen.

10:04am - Parker. 2945 N Milwaukee. A Saturn and a Pontiac are in the loading zone.


10:10am - Burglar alarm. 18XX N Paulina.


10:23am - Beat 1461Adam is doing a CTA check at the California Blue Line station, and will also be doing a Public Violence mission.


10:49am - Theft. 22XX N Leavitt. Two male Whites on bikes stole items in the backyard. These items are a wooden elephant, a Buddhist statue and two wood dragons. This happened about 10 minutes ago.


10:56am - Beat 1410 is saying that a female may be involved in the 10:49am job. A large wooden scriptural was also stolen, so a shopping cart may have been involved as well.



11:01am - Beat 1442 is inquiring if there's been any missing calls today on the Zone. Dispatch says not since she's sat down, but she'll ask the surrounding Zones. 1442's got a guy that's in a hospital gown over at California and Milwaukee. Not sure what's going with him, either.


11:07am - An RD number is being pulled from the 10:49am job. It's HV378986 with the event number of 06501.


11:12am - Burglar alarm. 23XX N Oakley.


11:51am - Residential alarm. 24XX N Western.


12:08pm - 1) Traffic accident. North and Elston. Semi hit the viaduct. 2) Parker. On 1421's Beat.


12:13pm - Person w/ a gun. 1600 N Talman. Male Black, 5'9, 160 lbs, slim build, short hair with a red tanktop and black shorts threatened the caller with a gun. He fled west in a black car with tinted windows towards Washtenaw. The guy's got a tattoo that says "mother" on his neck.


12:16pm - Beat 1463Adam is asking for a call back from the 12:13pm job.


12:18pm - Dispatch just let 25 know about that black car in case it goes past Central Park.


12:29pm - Person down. Ashland and Cortland. Female.


12:35pm - Disturbance. Unity Park. Female has nine children with her in the sprinklers, who are all under 10, and the park has a policy about not letting babies into the water without waterproof diapers. There's a problem, apparently.


12:37pm - Suspicious person. Milwaukee and Central Park. Male Hispanic with a yellow shirt with his right pant leg rolled up keeps walking through the area.


12:40pm - Beat 1400XRay needs a car to come over to 1860 N Milwaukee and request the graffiti busters. 1434 is on the way.


12:47pm - 1434 is ordering up the graffiti busters now at 1860 on Milwaukee.


12:49pm - Reckless driver. The Kennedy Expressway and North Ave. Black car with a plate of H853806 had a baby in the back who is not strapped in a car seat.


12:50pm - Graffiti busters are now being ordered up at 1900 N Western by a 14th District unit.


12:54pm - Disturbance. 23XX N Spaulding. Intoxicated man sleeping in the alley by the garbage cans.


1:02pm - Check the well being. North Ave./Damen/Milwaukee. Elderly female White is standing in the middle of the street.


1:33pm - Criminal trespass in progress. 27XX W Armitage. Evicted tenant is trying to get into the building.


1:34pm - Person down. 2715 N Milwaukee.


2:36pm - They're calling again on the 1:02pm job. I think she's a regular, though.


3:00pm - Traffic accident. California and Diversey. Two cars, injuries. EMS en route.


3:34pm - Assault report (should've been a kidnapping report). 3444 W Wabansia. At the Stowe school. Allegedly, as many as three children were abducted from the school by a male White, 60s, blue shirt and blue jean shorts. He fled north towards Cortland on St. Louis.


3:35pm - Some call up on the north end of 14, around 1412's Beat I believe. I missed the details, though. Sorry.


3:36pm - 1) Some call on the east end. 2) Disturbance. Logan and Elston. Kid trying to sell things in front of the Petsmart.


3:45pm - Ok, so maybe the 3:34pm job is more serious than originally thought. There's some sort of pizza party going on at Stowe this afternoon and these three kids, one boy and two girls, were kidnapped from in front of the school while waiting for their parents. They're actually calling it a kidnapping.


3:46pm - Officers and Dispatch are mobiling about the kidnapping situation at the school. They've got hysterical parents on scene, worried teachers, etc.


3:48pm - This kidnapping allegedly occurred just before 14:00 hours (2pm). And they're just now calling??


3:49pm - The boy wasn't actually kidnapped. He's at Yates school. There was a problem with the summer school buses and that kid accidently was relocated over to Yates by a Stowe bus monitor.


4:32pm - Some call in the area.


5:15pm - 1) Disturbance. 2406 W Fullerton. 2) Parker. 27XX W St. George's.


5:52pm - Criminal damage in progress. On 1414's Beat somewhere. Two guys trying to open up a hydrant.


6:03pm - Beat 1407Adam is having an outdoor roll call at Drake and Cortland. 


6:05pm - 1) Gang disturbance. Wabansia and Albany. Group blocking the sidewalk, harassing people. 2) Beat car 1413 is doing a CTA check at the Logan Square Blue Line station. Event number is 15278.


6:07pm - Beat 1402, 14th District Desk, is pulling an RD number for an auto accident at Marshfield and Wabansia. It's HV379647 with the event number of 15311.


6:14pm - Burglar report. On 1412's Beat.


6:15pm - Traffic accident. Milwaukee and Woodard. Property damage only.


6:32pm - 1) Parker. On 1431's Beat. 2) Beat car 1413 is informing Dispatch that they have the CAPS meeting over at Logan Square Boys and Girls Club tonight. I'm already here.


6:43pm - An RD number is being pulled from the 6:15pm job. It's HV379708 with the event number of 15413.


6:44pm - 1402 is pulling an RD number from 2111 W Fullerton. It's HV379712 with the event number of 16023.


6:45pm - Gang disturbance. Kedzie and North Ave. Four to five male Hispanics on the corner approaching cars, flashing gang signs.


6:57pm - Parker. 20XX N Stave. Permits.


7:14pm - Burglar alarm. 3418 W Diversey. At the insurance place.


7:21pm - Beat 1480 is "spending some quality time" on the Bloomingdale Trail, as he puts it, from the 2400 to 2900 blocks. Event number is 16813.


7:28pm - Commercial alarm. 24XX W Homer. The door's ajar, too.


7:29pm - Beat 6750 is taking in one from 3134 W North Ave. from an on-view battery that had. He's also an offender under RD number HV323286.

7:39pm - 1434 has a street stop in the alley at 1953 N Milwaukee.


7:43pm - 1434 is taking in one from there.


7:46pm - EMS run. 19XX N Spaulding. 22 year old having trouble breathing.


7:47pm - EMS run. 26XX N Washtenaw. Male passed out.


7:49pm - Gang disturbance. On 1414's Beat.


7:52pm - Beat 1463 is doing a gang suppression mission on the 1800 block of N. Washtenaw, where that shooting occurred at last night. Event number is 17533.


7:54pm - Traffic accident. Fullerton and Damen. Non-drivable.


7:57pm - Battery. 25XX W Charleston. Neighbor was arguing with the father and then it got physical.


8:01pm - Shots Fired. Kimball and Barry. One shot heard, no shooter description.


8:05pm - Vice complaint. On 1422's Beat.


8:10pm - Animal abuse. Logan and Kedzie. Dog hanging from a tree near the monument.


8:15pm - Beats 1481Boy and 1481David are doing foot patrol along the Bloomingdale Trail. Event number is 18077.


8:16pm - Person w/ a gun. California and Cortland. Heading south towards Bloomingdale is a white pick-up truck are four male Hispanic passengers that have guns. The truck has a plate of 3307Y8.


8:18pm - Beat 1495 is giving a slow down on the 8:16pm job. He went north on California from North and didn't see anything.


8:19pm - 1411 has a handwaver at Wrightwood and Kedzie about a possible stolen car.


8:23pm - 1) Gang disturbance. 19XX N Mozart. 2) Request for a supervisor. 31XX N Bernard.



8:46pm - Beat 1480 is asking 1481D to do special attention to Churchill Park for now, as there's a movie being shown in the park this evening.


9:09pm - 1) Theft. 31XX W Belden. Two male Hispanics in their late teens just stole bikes from the property. One has on a yellow shirt and plaid shorts and the other has on a blue shirt and blue jean shorts. 2) Parker. On 1414's Beat.


9:12pm - Battery in progress. Spaulding and Wabansia. Couple of calls. Group of six fighting.


9:27pm - 1) Disturbance. 30XX N Francisco. Someone keeps ringing the caller's doorbell. 2) Two parkers on 1432's Beat.


9:35pm - Vice complaint. On 1432's Beat.


9:55pm to 10:45pm - I didn't pay too much attention, so I'll make up for this time period Sunday night.


10:45pm - Shots Fired. 18XX N Drake. Ten shots heard, nothing.


10:47pm to 11:04pm - Again, sorry guys.


11:08pm - They're calling back on the 9:12pm job. It's gangbangers fighting in the middle of the street now.


11:20pm - Battery in progress. 21XX N Kimball. Gangbangers fighting.


11:43pm - Battery in progress. 25XX N Central Park. Neighbors fighting in the gangway.

I've noticed you have used the term "bums" a few times. The PC name would be homeless or "housing challenged individuals"
Also, "drunks" could be replaced with alcoholics. As alcoholism was declared by the AMA as a disease many years ago.
