I will be monitoring for the next hour or two before I head to bed, then I probably won't come back until around 2pm today unless something arises from the shooting tonight. Here is crime for today.
12:00am - The person shot in the head from the 11:47pm job last night only has a graze wound.
12:02am - Shell casings have been found at Altgeld and Keeler per Beat car 2550.
12:03am - 1) Suspicious vehicle. Diversey and Pulaski. Five males in a black car driving around. 2) Beat 2525 has a parker on the Beat. 3) Seven shell casings were found at the shooting.
12:06am - More shots fired. This time at Fullerton and Tripp.
12:07am - Beat 2563Adam is at Fullerton and Tripp, and sees/hears nothing. 2523 is given a disregard.
12:09am - The exact address for the shell casings will be 2500 N Keeler.
12:26am - Beat car 2590 tells 2531 (who's on the paper for the shooting) that he should call the fusion center to see tape from the nearby POD cameras that could be of good use.

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 4:08pm. School was good today. I see that the gangbangers are out. I saw several gang members on the corner of Diversey and Ridgeway. They didn't really look like they were going to do anything. Alot of craziness will happen today for several reasons. One, it's a full moon, 2) it's Friday the 13th, and 3) it's nice out, so everyone remain careful tonight. Here is crime for this afternoon and tonight.
3:39pm - Assist the citizen. 4045 W Oakdale. An elderly woman needs some kind of report.
3:45pm - Burglar alarm. 3907 W Wrightwood. Garage motion.
4:20pm - Vicious animal. Hamlin and Wrightwood. Large pit bull on the corner.
4:32pm - Criminal damage. 3953 W Armitage. Male Hispanic, 15 yrs old, grey jacket with two females just tagged the garage.
4:42pm - Beat car 2525 gets something on the PDT.

My observations on school
Hi, everyone, school has been pretty good this week.
March 9: On Monday, school was calm. Just the here and there stuff. At lunch, a girl had "Happy Birthday" sanged to her and love ensued (LOL).
March 10: On Tuesday, school was pretty calm. Other than a few arguments, some boys talking about a fight that happened yesterday and one near fight, things were usual. Also, a crew from the Oprah Winfrey show was there to interview a few kids about dating violence. Their interviews are going to be on Oprah's Thursday show. This is kind of exciting to hear since a few of my friends may be on there.
March 11: On Wednesday, school was calm for the most part. I only observed a few altercations and other stuff.
March 12: On Thursday, my class and I went on Ford City mall. It was pretty good. We learned how to shop and spend money.
March 13: On Friday, things were calm. Just the usual loudness and goofing around.

Man down near Taco Bell on Milwaukee
Good afternoon, everyone, it's 4:26pm. Sorry for never coming back yesterday but it was a quarter to 9pm when I got back from the wake (turned out it wasn't a funeral), so I wasn't able to get on. Anyway, here is crime for this afternoon and evening.
3:29pm - EMS run. 3121 N Hamlin. By the Taco Bell. Man is down on the corner. EMS en route.
3:37pm - 1) Battery vitcim injured. 4310 W Fullerton. World Corporation something. A teenage boy was injured. He's by the bus stop. 2) Beat car 2580David asks for an event number for an SOB Burglary mission for 2525's beat. It's 10663.
3:41pm - Landlord/tenant dispute. 2917 N Ridgeway. Landlord and tenant issues.
3:53pm - EMERGENCY on Zone 12. Heading towards Lamon on Fulton. About 15 seconds later, there's an "in custody" called out. Great job to the cops who chased this subject!
4:04 to 4:10pm - I fell asleep, so I didn't pay attention. Sorry :-).
4:20pm - Disturbance. 3633 W Fullerton. Four guys drinking booze in the back parking lot of the medical clinic.
4:42pm - Beat 2525 gets a parker on the PDT.
4:52pm - Beat car 2550 is doing something at 3033 N Milwaukee.
5:11pm - Disturbance. 3859 W Wabansia. Three small children are on top of a garage. Caller is afraid they may fall off.
About 5:50 to 6:05pm - I wasn't paying too much attention.
6:17pm - Criminal damage in progress. 2614 N Monticello. A minor, 15 years of age, is attempting to spray all of the garages. He's now walking in the alley towards Lawndale. He has on a white hoodie, blue jeans and a backpack.
6:20pm - One of the units is asking where the minor on the 6:17pm job is located.
6:27pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.

7:00pm - Disturbance. 2959 N Hamlin. Several teens tried to enter into the buliding. They were lying about their age. They fled but the caller is afraid they may come back and cause trouble.
7:07pm - Beat 2525 gets a couple of parkers on the beat after lunch.
7:47pm - Beat car 2523 has something stacked after lunch.
8:00pm - Suspicious person. 3110 N Milwaukee. Two bums hanging out and ringing the caller's doorbells.

5:51am - Burglary in progress. 3021 N Pulaski. Sounds like a break-in is occurring.
5:56am - A slow down is given on the 5:51am job.
5:59am - Beat car 2523 inquires if there's any board-up service people monitoring the zone from the 5:51am job. Nobody answers up.
6:02am - An RD number has been pulled from the 5:51am job. It's HR209159 with the event number of 02288.
6:28am - Beat 2523 is finishing paper from the 5:51am job in 25.

Traffic stop at 2615 N Pulaski
Good afternoon, everyone, it's 4:11pm. Sorry I never returned last night, but my sister got sick and my mom and I took care of her. She's doing somewhat better now. Anyway, here is crime for this afternoon and evening.
4:08pm - Beat car 2505 has a traffic stop at 2615 N Pulaski.
4:18pm - Beat 2505 is doing a park check at Kelvyn Park.
4:47pm - EMERGENCY on Zone 12. Lorel and Lemonye. Male Black with a black coat and skull cap is running north. Dang. One of my classmates lives right there.
4:48pm - The offender is heading towards Lockwood.
4:49pm - The offender from the 4:47pm foot chase is in custody.
4:52pm - 1) Suspicious person. 3750 W Diversey. In the north alley. A male Black who is short and heavy set appears to be selling speakers from a car. When the caller asked him to move, he cursed them out. The car appears to have no plates or anything. 2) Beat car 2525 gets a parker on the PDT.
About 5:04 to 5:10pm - I had the radio turned down by accident, so I didn't hear anything. Sorry.
5:56pm - Anoymous 911 call about four to five gang members throwing bottles at Milwaukee and Belmont.
6:23pm - Police are taking one into 25 from the 5:56pm job. Also, a few police officers are acting silly over the radio about this.
6:34pm - Theft. 2732 N Avers. At Koz Park. Something was stolen out of a locker.
6:47pm - Criminal damage in progress. Hamlin and Wellington. Two males and a female damaging a red car.
6:59pm - Robbery. 3055 N Milwaukee. The deli was robbed at gunpoint by a male Hispanic.
7:00pm - EMERGENCY on Zone 12. Male Black with a green jacket running south on Lavergne from West End. About 25 seconds later, the offender's heading west in the alley between Washington and West End.
7:01pm - 1) The offender from the foot chase hasn't made it out yet. 2) It has been stated that the offender is in custody. 3) General police/dispatch chatter about the foot chase.
7:02pm - A flash is given out from the 7pm job. Wanted for attempted armed Robbery are two male Hispanics in their mid 20s. One has long hair. Both offenders are "average height". They fled south on Milwaukee. Also, a Polish speaker is needed because of a language barrier.
7:04pm - The owner(s) believe(s) that the offenders may be drunk or homless people from the area on Milwaukee, AKA "Drunk Boulevard" (that's what I call it).

Big fight explodes on Milwaukee
Good morning, everyone, it's 12:08am. Stuff is happening already. We've got a large group of people fighting around Central Park and Milwaukee. Oh boy. This may only be the beginning of a crazy day. Here is crime for today.

Vice complaint on 2524's beat
Good afternoon, everyone, it's 4:49pm. Today, from a good source of mine, things have been pretty active in the neighborhood. My source witnessed gang members causing a disturbance along Diversey. I've also seen some stuff myself this afternoon as I was coming home. I'll keep an eye on things and here is crime for this afternoon/evening.
4:48pm - Vice complaint. Somewhere on 2524's beat. Read out during the backlog.
5:12pm - Robbery. 2857 N Ridgeway. At the food markert. Three male Hispanics robbed the store. Note: This is very shocking. I go to that store from time to time. Wow.
5:18 to 5:19pm - EMERGENCY on Zone 12. Beat car 2514 has a big disturbance at 2055 N Long. Multiple units are enroute.
5:22pm - Beat 2566David says the robbery is bona fided. All they have right now is that a van fled west on George from the robbery.
5:23pm - Beat car 2566D says that it was a male Black and two male Hispanics. One male Hispanic was wearing a knit cap which said "Chicago" across it. The gun was a handgun.
5:32pm - An RD number has been pulled from the 5:12pm job. It's HR202013. Didn't catch the event number.

My observations on school
Hello, everyone, school has been pretty average this week.
March 3: On Tuesday, we went on a field trip to Golf Mill Mall. We learned how to spend money and order food at the food court(s). Some of the kids also learned how to shop. It was a nice experience.
March 4: On Wednesday, school was average. Just the usual altercations and what have you. Also, my class took a walk around the neighborhood.
March 5: On Thursday, school was nearly the same as Wednesday, with the exception of no neighborhood and a superstar assembly where good students won stuff.
March 6: On Friday, school was pretty average. In the morning, things were rather calm but in the afternoon, I witnessed several altercations and possibly one fight.

Gang member breaks bottle on Ridgeway
Good afternoon, everyone, it's 4:31pm. Around 3:59pm this afternoon, I witnessed three gang members all in black fur coats yelling gang slogans when one grabbed a beer bottle and chucked it towards the bar at the corner of Diversey and Ridgeway. I know who exactly who threw that beer bottle. His name is Micheal Camarena. I know him from Monroe school last year. With an incident like this happening, I now know for sure something is going to happen. I don't know where and when, but I can feel it. I will be mointoring the situation very closely. Here is crime for this afternoon/evening.
4:00pm - Gang disturbance. 2450 N Ridgeway. 7 to 8 males throwing up gang signs.
4:02pm - Holding the offender. 1920 N Hamlin. At the Ames school. A student is being held for possesion of drugs. Note: This call has time on it.
4:37pm - The 4:02pm job has finally been assigned.
4:41pm - Disturbance. Wolfram and Lawndale. Several kids playing on the fence.
4:49pm - Beat car 2523 has a traffic stop at 2740 N Lawndale. Running a plate.
4:51pm - Beat 2523's plate comes back clear.
5:02pm - Person down. 2990 N Milwaukee. A male is down. EMS enroute.
5:05pm - Burglar alarm. 3742 W McLean. No further information.

6:59pm - Wanted for Armed Robbery from the 6:54pm job are a male Black, about 22 yrs old, 5'9, about 160 pounds and wearing a white shirt and a male Hispanic, about 23 yrs old, 5'10 and red shirt. Both offenders are believed to be slim bulid. The offenders ran west at about the time of the call.

3:43pm - The male from the 3:27pm job might be missing from the nursing home at 2450 N Central.
3:44pm - Beat car 2543 is taking the 3:27pm male back to the nursing home at 2450 N Central.
3:49pm - EMERGENCY on Zone 12. Beat 1511 has a 15 yr old male Black with dark pants and grey sweater is running east through the yards between Parkside and Central on Madison.

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 3:45pm. Today has been a good day for me. Sorry I wasn't here this morning. It was quiet and I was doing other stuff. Here's crime for this afternoon and evening.
3:30pm - Battery. 1920 N Hamlin. At the Ames school. Two students are being held for battery.
3:51pm - Beat car 2507Adam has an accident at Fullerton and Lawndale. One party is injured and the other party has a wrecked car.
4:02pm - Beat 2507A says he needs a car to do the accident report.
4:03 to 4:04pm - Beat car 2593Tom (the traffic unit in 25) chatters with dispatch regarding the Fullerton and Lawndale accident. It's revealed by dispatch that there's another accident at Fullerton and Monticello, but when Beat 2507A was asked about that, he said he sent them in.
4:06pm - Beat car 2507A says Ambulance 7 is taking the injured person to the hospital while the other party waits at 3653 W Fullerton.

Good morning, everyone, it's 9:24am. Happy Pulaski Day to everyone out there. I've been up since just before 7:30 this morning monitoring but it's been extremely quiet. I'm going to try my very best be here all day, but I'm not feeling too well (my throat is sore), so if I leave early, don't be too surprised. Here is crime for today.

10:13am - Beat 2523 is doing foot patrol on the 3900 block of W Diversey.
10:40am - Criminal damage to property. Diverrsey and Kosnter. Male in a blue parka just caused some damage.
11:25am - Vicious animal. North and Monticello. A black pitbull chased a male northbound. It stopped but it's still in the area.
11:47am - I don't know the nature of this job, but the parent of a battered child who attends ASPIRA High School, 3986 W. Barry, is in the main office now.
12:12pm - An RD number has been pulled from the 11:47am job. It's HR195123 with the event number of 06541. This incident occurred on the 26th of January (from it sounded like). It also sounds like Beat car 2523 is going to be taking someone in from this.
12:23pm - Beat 2523 is heading in with one female from the 11:47am job.

Good morning, everyone, it's 12:12am. Today is the 1st day of March, meaning warmer weather is finally coming to Chicago (which means more crime). I can't wait for the warmer weather so I could go outside more often and enjoy the weather. Anyway, I have my radio until dinner tonight, so here is crime for this morning/afternoon.
12:15am - No later than 15 minutes into March and we have shots fired. The location is North and Central Park. Six shots have been fired.

Father's car involved in accident
Good evening, everyone, it's 7:52pm. I've a good day so far. Tomorrow is March 1st (can you believe it?). In addition to my crime post tomorrow, I'll be posting Beat meeting information for all of you. Here is crime for this evening.
7:50pm - Traffic accident. Armitage and Harding. Father's car was involved in an accident.
8:19pm - Disturbance. 3000 N Milwaukee. Highly intoxicated male staggering on the sidewalk.
8:34pm - Beat car 2546 needs an ambulance for the male at the 8:19pm job.
8:39pm - The 7:50pm job is coded out 18Boy.
9:06pm - Male slumped over the wheel. 3119 N Milwaukee. Car running and turn signal on has a male slumped over.
9:20pm - The 9:06pm job is coded out 19Paul.
9:25pm - Beat 2523 has a handwaver at Kenosha and Wellington.

Person causing disturbance on Cortland
Good afternoon, everyone, it's 4:01pm. Today hasn't been such a good day for me, but I'll be okay. Here is crime blotter for this afternoon/evening.

5:55pm - Beat 2520 wants 2525 to meet with him at Mozart Park.
6:04pm - Suspicious vehicle. 2701 N Hamlin. No occupants. A dark Chevy Monte Carlo is suspicious.
6:14pm - Criminal damage to property. 3120 N Central Park. Beat car 2543 was at the address earlier for a gang disturbance because gang members were causing a disturbance and now they've busted out the windows to the caller's apartment.

6:18pm - Now the 6:14pm job is coming in as a Battery in progress and Person w/ a gun. A male gang member has a gun and there must be a fight going on. Multiple calls on it.

7:46pm - Beat car 2523 is asked to head back to the 6:14/6:18pm jobs. Dispatch talked to the caller's wife and she says that the caller keeps calling from their job on the south side. The caller's worried about the wife so the wife asked 2523 to come over to call her husband or something.

My observations on school
Hi, everyone, this week was average.
February 23: On Monday, things were the same as Friday (February 20). That fight actually happened this time, though.
February 24: On Tuesday, things were hetic, especially around my lunch time. While enroute to a class around 9:45am, I saw several girls arguing, then things were calm again until my lunch. At lunch, I saw a heated argument involving some girls with one girl just yelling at everybody else, then I saw a group of boys/girls gathering around of what may have been an argument. After lunch, I saw a couple more arguments but nothing big.
February 25: On Wednesday, things got wild at about 12:30pm. I had a great day and saw nearly no altercations. In my 2nd period class, we were having a discussion about "Romeo and Juliet" which we're reading right now and people were saying some funny things but they also said things that were more serious and ... just part of the discussion. I even said some things and I think I made some new friends today. However, a melee broke out around 12:30pm. This happened right outside of my gym class. I've got no numbers on how many kids were fighting, but it was pretty intense since several teachers had to break it up. Security and police also broke it up. Other than the brawl, things were actually calm. I'm sure there will be another fight tomorrow, but I will have no insight on it because I'm going on a field trip to the Muesum of Contemporary Photography.
February 26: Thursday was a pretty good day. We went on that field trip to the Muesum of Contemporary Photography. It was nice, except for getting caught in that soaking rain, LOL. Also, at school, the African American Hertiage Assembly was held. I heard it was nice, but I will have to wait and see until I get to see it tomorrow.
February 27: On Friday, things were calm. I only observed here and there altercations. We had an assembly today which was nice. In my class, one of our teachers cooked up very nice food as part of African American Heritage month.

10-1 at Cicero and North
Good morning, everyone, it's 6:16am. It appears the crime activity is already going up and it's only 6 in the morning. I don't normally post about stuff at Cicero and North, but due to it being a 10-1 (and regardless of where they are, I post 10-1s), I had to post it. Anyway, here is crime for this morning before I go and for this afternoon/evening.
5:50am - Calling all units. 10-1 at Cicero and North. At the Walgreens. When security and a Cook County's Sheriff tried to stop a male from carjacking someone, he pulled out a gun and fled eastbound on North in the car. Units enroute.
5:52am - The car is a black PDT Cruiser with no tailights. Going east.
5:53am - One unit checked as far as Grand and Monticello and couldn't find anything.
5:54 to 5:57am - Police/chatter regarding this incident.
6:05 to 6:12am - More chatter about the 10-1.
6:18am - Generic. 3618 W Palmer. The building looks like it's going to fall. Police are asked to look mainly at the Palmer side.
6:27am - EMERGENCY on Zone 12. New information from the 5:50am job. The car was seen in the last 5 minutes heading west on North from Cicero. The offender is a male Black with a 9 .mm steel gun.
6:29am - Oak Park PD has been alerted about this incident.
6:31am - Beat car 2510 has the car stopped at North and Narrangset. 1520 is pulling up to 2510 as well as other units.
6:32am - This fisaco is over. This guy is in custody. A slow down has been given for like the 4th time.
6:33am - A total disregard is given.
6:35 to 6:36am - Police/dispatch chatter about this incident.
6:38am - Even more chatter about the 5:50am job.

Crime blotter for February 25, 2009
G00d morning, everyone, it's 10:17am. Well, I'm in Computer class at school (obviously I finished my work, LOL). School's been great for me so far. This morning, in the 6am hour, there was two parker calls (forgot where now), but that's it. Have a great day, everyone, and I'll be back later. Here is crime for this afternoon/evening.
About 11am - A good source of mine had to do some shopping today at the Walgreen's at Diversey and Pulaski. When they came out to head home, there was a huge crowd of gangbangers out there. My source went in to wait for the crowd to disappear, but when they were in heading in there, some of the crowd were following my source. Walgreen's security called police. Some gangbangers were reported as shouting something at another group of gangbangers. As my source left the area, sirens were heard. This is insane. I'll have coverage about gang fights today.

Good morning, everyone, it's 6:19am. Well, today is going to be a warmer day (just about 40 degrees) so I think the crime may go up today. Anywho, here is crime for this morning before I go to school and when I get back home.

5:46am - Suspicious vehicle. 2837 N Ridgeway. Black SUV has had it's emergency lights on all night. I can confirm seeing this.
6:05am - Beat 2535 does a premise check at 1747 N Springfield, at the pumping station.

3:19pm - I'm back and there's a gang disturbance at 2810 N Hamlin. Gang members yelling out of a blue car.
3:30pm - Theft. 1937 N Ridgeway. Someone stole the caller's purse while she was doing laundry.
3:42pm - Gang disturbance. Somewhere on Hamlin. Gang members yelling slogans and stuff out of a blue SUV. I think this may be related to the 3:19pm job.
4:04pm - Ride w/ Fire. 2830 N Lawndale. Someone hears a strange noise that sounds like a fire. I see multiple fire trucks head that way.

White car being stolen on Belmont
Hello to all of my readers. How are you guys today? Hope all is going well. Anyway, I have to go back to school today. Hope everything remains peaceful. Oh! I didn't even realize this was my 3 month milestone of doing the blotter today. Well, everyone, thanks for everything and I hope to be here for many and many more posts. Here is crime before I go this morning and for this afternoon.
6:08am - Auto Theft in progress. 4113 W Belmont. A white car, the caller's car, is being stolen.
6:11am - An officer on scene at the 6:08am job is asking for a callback.
6:12am - A slow down is given on the 6:08am job.
6:16am - The 6:08am job is going to be coded out because it's happening at 2113 W. Belmont, which is in the 19th district. The call's being transfered over to Zone 2.

Problem at the car wash
Good morning, everyone, it's 10:44am. It has been real quiet (and I've been listening for an hour now) on the radio so far today, but we'll see how long that continues for.
10:43am - Disturbance. Wrightwood and Pulaski. At the car wash. Disturbance with a male.
10:49am - Kidnapping. 2452 N Lowell. The vehicle, a coffee-colored Ford Escape, was just taken and the caller's 4 yr old son was in the car.
10:55am - The 10:49am job is bona fided. Beat car 2510 is asked to come to the scene. The car went northbound when the kidnapping happened.
10:57am - The car is a smaller Ford Escape. The father of the vitcim went back into the house to get something and when he returned, the vehicle and child were gone.
10:59am - A flash is given out on the kidnapping. The car is a 2001 coffee-colored Ford Escape with a plate of A134968. The child was wearing a spiderman jacket with some kind of black shirt or hat along with green pants.
11:00am - 1) EMS run. 11 S Austin. Apartment 215. EMS is needed for unknown reasons. I know this is out of coverage area, but again, I have a friend who lives there and he suffers from a growth problem, so I'm hoping this isn't him that needs EMS. 2) Beat 2515 is switching over to Citywide to give the flash.

1:07pm - It sounds like the child from the kidnapping may have been found at 4742 W Belden. The car is in the alley and the doors on the car are locked. Multiple units are rushing to the scene.

1:10pm - The child is alive and well but is not responding to police. Mom is needed to verify that the child is in fact the kidnapped child and to help him out of the car. An ambulance is also needed to transport the child to the hospital since that is required procedure.

1:22pm - It's a positive on the child. He's been found :-)! Ambulance 7 and Engine 58 are on scene. The ambulance is heading to OLR with the child and mom.

2:24pm - These goof balls caused a 10-1. A whole slew of people are being taken into 25 from the North and Laramie nonsense. One's being taken in for Battery to a police officer, two people are going in for obstructing and a bunch of other people are going in for other stuff.
