Positive Loitering Event/Walk TONIGHT -- 6:00 P.M. @ Allen/Kimball

Hello, everyone. I know this may be on short notice, and I apologize for the inconvenience, but I have received this notice regarding a positive loitering event/walk that will be occurring this evening at 6:00 p.m., at the corner of Allen and Kimball.

From Nextdoor Neighbor's Southwest Avondale section:
"Sending out a reminder for tomorrow's CAPS Positive Loitering & Beat Walk before the West Logan Square Block Club meeting:

We will be meeting on the corner of Allen & Kimball Ave. at 6pm, Thursday, June 27th. We will "Loiter" for a bit and then have a beat walk down Allen, Wisner and Wellington, ending at the 7pm community meeting at St. Nicholai Church on the corner of Wellington & Kedzie.

Everyone is invited to join us!! Bring noise makers :-)

Please get involved in your community.....come meet others in your neighborhood!!"

Unfortunately, since I have a class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for the summer, I will NOT be in attendance for this event. But I do encourage EVERYONE who lives in the area to please, please attend this. Allen Avenue has been a problematic area for sometime now, and this is one of the ways we can address it. Meet your neighbors, get involved and make a change!

For anyone who does go, please e-mail me some insight and/or photos if you can.

Thank you,
Tim AKA "Timmy"

Why is the city building a new school at Milwaukee and Monticello? I thought they were busy closing down schools? Why take our garden away? Even the bee hive is gone. We really should march here instead.

Mary, Why don't you go marching downtown this weekend for the Blackhawks parade. You can actually enjoy the city and get down to P-A-R-T-Y.

No, I never go downtown. The police protection is subpar compared to most other large cities I've been to. The Chicago Police dept. today is staffed with folks who failed the Walmart security guard test.
