Bi-Polar Teen At Group Home On Sawyer, Parker In 14

Good morning, everyone, it's 7:58am. It's a cloudy morning with temps in the lower 30s, and it will remain that way today. Anyway, I'll be monitoring Zone G (Armitage to North Ave., Kimball to Humboldt) from now until 9:34, then I'll just be covering 14 from 9:34 until 1:14pm. At 2, I will be switching over to 25 until 8:25, then I'll cover 14 again after 8:25 until midnight. This wraps up my Zone G coverage for the next several weeks, as now I have to target the other "priority" areas with my monitoring, then start monitoring the non-priority areas. Zone H (Palmer to Armitage [Keeler to Pulaski]/Bloomingdale [Pulaski to Hamlin], Keeler [Palmer to Armitage]/Pulaski [Armitage to Bloomingdale] to Hamlin) is next in line for my monitoring sequence, and I will be doing that on Wednesday and Thursday. When I do monitor Zone H, I will also be monitoring Zone R (Palmer to Bloomingdale [Pulaski to Hamlin] to North Ave., Pulaski [North Ave. to Bloomingdale]/Hamlin [Bloomingdale to Palmer] to Central Park), which is a non-priority Zone. At the end of next week, on April 6th, I will start coverage of Zone D (Armitage to North Ave., California to Damen). With that, here's crime for today.

9:24am - Disturbance w/ a mental. 1900 N Sawyer. At the group home. 17 year old having a bi-polar episode.

9:34am - Zone G coverage on my end has officially concluded for the next several weeks. I thank all of you for tuning in and reading. Now, I will be monitoring all of 14 until 1:14.

9:45am - Parker. Somewhere in the area.

9:58am - As it turns out, I have to be at church today and my microphone equipment is not working today :(. I'll be back later. In any case, I will be covering 14 from now until 1:14 at this time tomorrow. I'm so sorry, guys. Have a good morning, everyone!

1:18pm - I'm back, with 25. Good afternoon, everyone.

3:10pm - Traffic accident. 4131 W Belmont. Hit-and-run, non-drivable.

3:15pm - Fire. 25XX N Central Park. Smell of smoke.

5:23pm - Parker. On 2535's Beat.

6:48pm - Burglar alarm. 3160 N Milwaukee Ave. At the Copernicus Center.

7:09pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.

7:22pm - I'm back. Good evening, everyone.

8:25pm - I'm back with 14.

9:35pm - EMS run. 31XX N Christiana. Man down on the ground complaining of pain on his right side.

10:39pm - Didn't hear a job or anything come out from this location, but Beat car 1411Robert needs another car at 31XX N Richmond. Beat car 1414R is on the way.

10:42pm - A slow down is being given at the 10:39pm thing, per Beat 1462Boy.

11:18pm - Beat 1471R has a traffic stop at Altgeld and California.

12:00am - I'm going to go for the night. I'll be back in the morning. Have a good night, everyone!

I heard McDonalds will be able to accept Link Cards soon. What has this hard working blue collar city become?

I work w/ students who struggle w/ social-emotional disorders at a therapeutic day school. The post regarding "disturbance w/ a mental...at a group home. 17 year old..." was biased & only perpetuates stereotypes of people suffering from bi-polar disorder. Thanks for the information you provide, but you could have posted "teenager involved in disturbance requiring police intervention" or something.

Micheal, I don't understand how it was biased. In no way was I was trying to bring further sterotypes to people with bi-polar disorders, I typed the call as I heard it then made the title based on the call. I probably shouldn't have done that. Either way, I apologize that you were offended, and if anyone else was offended, I also apologize to you, and I will keep this in mind should I hear a call like that again.

Just so everyone knows, but I don't have anything against people suffering from bi-polar disorders or other disorders. Since I have autism, I can relate somewhat to having those kinds of disorders.

Bipolar disorders? Nosense, these kids just need a good old spanking like when I was young. Seems strange that today you now have all these disorders that we never had years back. Bring back punishments with the belt.

When I read through a number of your posts reporting happenings and police activity from the blotter, I realized perhaps that the semantics may very well be straight from the blotter itself. However, the language used to describe the event seemed quite insensitive and "unfair." Thanks for taking note of the my comment.
