Gangbanging Males Attempt To Fight @ Diversey/Ridgeway,

Good morning, everyone, it's 3am. It's a mostly cloudy overnight with temps in the mid 30s, and today will be a warmer day with temps in the mid 40s. It's March-like weather finally. Today, I'm monitoring 25 from now until my dinner, but I might take a break or something during the day for a nap. Also, today is the last day of the Daylight Standard Time, and we change our clocks back at 2am tomorrow. Spring ahead, fall back. It won't be getting dark until about 7pm now, but it won't be getting light until about a quarter to 7am now :(. With that, here's crime for today.

4:35am - Assault in progress. Diversey and Ridgeway. Couple of calls. One call says five of them are arguing on the corner, and the second call, which I called in, says there was a large group of males about to fight (I did see a large group at least 20).

4:36am - We've got the group heading down Ridgeway towards George. Looks like they're gangbangers and are really probably going to fight. Great....

4:37am - Beat car 2523Robert is giving a slow down. They don't see anyone yet. They're headed down the block now.

4:39am - Gang disturbance. Diversey/Ridgeway. Group walking north on Ridgeway is causing a loud "disturbance".

4:40am - 2523R has a group stopped, in the middle of the block on Ridgeway.

4:43am - Looks like the group's dispersing now. Good. Hope they stay gone.

4:48am - Beat car 2524R is on an auto theft mission on their Beat.

5:16am - Battery. 27XX N Monticello. Caller was beaten up at a bar.

5:25am - Gang disturbance. Lawndale and Diversey.

5:27am - Beat 1406Adam just shagged the guys at Lawndale/Diversey. Coded 5Frank.

5:32am - Battery. 25XX N Central Park. Caller was just hit in the head.

5:33am - Disturbance. North and Pulaski. Problem in a cab.

5:45am - Beat 2520R is coding out the 5:32am job as a 5Boy.

5:52am - Battery in progress. Ridgeway and Armitage. Caller and their friend are being beaten up.

6:26am - Burglary in progress. 3039 N Milwaukee Ave. Window to the jewelry store has been broken with people possibly breaking in.

6:30am - 1406A is on scene at the 6:26am job, saying there IS a broken window. Beat cars 2521 and 2523 are on the way.

6:31am - Person w/ a gun. 25XX N Lowell. Two males sitting in a purple van in front have guns.

6:40am - 2523 is asking Dispatch to get a listing on the 6:26am job. Beat 2502, 25th District Desk, is looking now.

6:43am - 1) Beat 2573, the unit assigned to the 6:31am job, needs a female for a search. Beat car 2535 is coming over. 2) 2502 says they have no listing on 2523's thing.

8:20am - I'm going to go for a little while. I'll be back .I'll cover this time period tomorrow.

10:02am - I'm back. Hi, everyone.

10:10am - Disturbance. 29XX N Ridgeway. Problem with some homeless people sitting on the porch.

12:19pm - Beat 2520 is checking out a couple of cars at Belden and Hamlin that look like they're stolen.

1:35pm - Beat 2582 asks for a foot patrol event number on Fullerton from Kilbourn to Central Park. Event number is 08066.

1:50pm - Traffic accident. Hamlin and Schubert.

2:10pm - I'm going to go for a little bit. I'll be back soon.

3:00pm - I'm back. Good afternoon, everyone.

3:42pm - Gang disturbance. Lawndale/Diversey. Several males throwing up gang signs.

4:35pm - Disturbance. Armitage and Keystone.

5:27pm - Burglar alarm. 31XX N Central Park.

6:12pm - Commercial alarm. 4030 W Wrightwood. At the Aldi. Backroom motion.

6:23pm - Beat car 2523 is coding out the 6:12pm job. 5B. It was accident.

6:43pm - 1) Parker. On 2523's Beat. 2) Disturbance. 28XX N Kildare.

7:12pm - Beat 2502, 25th District Desk, is talking with Dispatch regarding a 73 year old woman who went missing from 37XX W Belden. Apparently, she's from Puerto Rico and is only visiting family at this location. She doesn't know the area.
