Threatening Neighbor On Lawndale, Traffic Stop On Armitage

Good morning, everyone, it's 1:19am. It's yet another frigid overnight with temps in the upper teens, with clear skies. Today will be in the lower 30s with sunshine. Anyway, I'm monitoring 25 from now until about 3am or so, and then I'll come back at some point during the day. With that, here's crime for portions of day.

2:14am - Assault in progress. 29XX N Lawndale. Neighbor is threatening the caller.

2:26am - Beat 2593Robert is on a traffic stop at 3653 W Armitage.

2:41am - Fire. 25XX N Monticello. Garage.

2:48am - Beat car 2525R is saying that the fire is bona fide. Actually, two garages might be on fire.

2:51am - I'm headed off to bed. Good night, everyone, and I'll see you all sometime later.

5:44pm - I'm back. Good evening, everyone.

5:47pm - Beat car 2523 has a traffic stop at Diversey and Lawndale.

6:04pm - 1) Robbery. Avers and Altgeld. Attempted. 2) Suspicious person. Diversey and Avers.

6:11pm - I'm going to go for the night. I'll be back tomorrow. Have a great night, everyone, and I'll see you all then!

Hi Timmy,

I've been reading this blog since I moved to the area (near the church on george). I'm wondering your opinion on if 2900 block of Ridgeway will be a problem area again this summer? I know the violence seemed to peek in July and settled down after that, and hopefully it will stay calm this summer.

Seems like lots of the calls to the police could be handled by those involved. Are people today that stupid?

Hello anonymous, sorry for my late reply. In my opinion, I don't think the 2900 block of Ridgeway will really have problems again this summer like it did last. The residents on the block are (somewhat) active and they're making sure it stays quiet, and I've heard that a couple of the problem residents have moved off the block. If you can, I encourage your involvement as well to make sure the community stays safe this year.
