Good morning, everyone, it's 12am. It's a clear overnight with temps in the mid 30s, and today is supposed to partly cloudy with temps in the mid 40s. Boy is it a crazy night in 14, though. We just had a huge traffic pursuit to take place a little bit ago, and there's a bit of a high volume of calls on an early January overnight. I'm monitoring 14 from now until about 12:15am or so, then I'm headed to bed until 7:33, at which time I'll get up and cover 25 until 12:14pm. After that, I won't be back until 7:03pm, which then I'll cover 14 until 7:59. After that, I'll be gone. With that, here's crime for today.
12:00am - Person Shot. Barry and Washtenaw. Man in a red hoodie was just seen arguing with another man, and then he shot him. The injured man ran into 3080 N Elston.
12:02am - Beat 1410Robert is saying that from the pursuit yesterday (well, technically, about a half hour ago), Beat car 1412Robert is doing the paper on it and Beat 1471R is taking in two offenders. Beat car 1434R is sitting on the car.
12:03am - Update from the alleged shooting: supposedly, the guy in the red hoodie dumped the gun into a nearby garbage can.
12:04am - A slow down is being given at Barry/Washtenaw. Couple of Tac units are on scene.
12:05am - Beat car 1423R is being assigned to those criminal damage reports.
12:07am - 1) Suspicious person. St. Louis and Wrightwood. Eight males, ages 18 to 20, are in the middle of the street and are also trying car doors. 2) Disturbance. 32XX W Wrightwood. Loud TV.
12:08am - Beat car 1431R is asking for a call back over at Barry/Washtenaw.
12:09am - Dispatch just got off the phone with the caller from the shooting, who says the guy dumped the gun into the blue garbage can by the auto body shop on Elston. Also, the alleged victim fled.
12:13am - 1) Parker. 3425 W Diversey. White flatbed truck is blocking the crosswalk. 2) Parker. 18XX N Fairfield. Red car blocking the alley, loud music also.
12:14am - 1431R is coding the whole "shooting" out. There's no victim nor is there a gun.
12:15am - Just wanted to say to ALL the officers involved in this chase, you guys did a FANTASTIC job with this! This is one of the best examples of police work I've seen in a while.

7:33am - I'm back, with 25. Good morning, everyone. Beat car 2525 is being assigned to a school crossing at 3800 W. Armitage, from now until 08:00 (8am) hours.
8:25am - CTA bus alarm. 1600 block of N Pulaski. Silent bus alarm on CTA bus #1884 is sounding, headed north on Pulaski towards Armitage.
9:00am - Burglary in progress. 19XX N Lawndale. Two males breaking into a building through the back.
9:01am - One of the officers is saying that the people breaking in on Lawndale is probably the homeless vagrants around that immediate area.
9:59am - I'm not sure if everyone's gotten the "memo" (LOL), but I just wanted to make all of you aware that I now have a brand new email address dedicated to this blog. 10:12am - They're calling back on Lawndale. Two males trying to enter the front AND back now.

10:28am - Assault in progress. 3906 W North Ave. Someone's swearing at and threatening to fight the caller.
10:30am - The 10:28am job is now coming in as a "battery in progress". They're fighting now.
10:35am - A slow down is being given on the 10:28am job.
10:44am - Assault in progress. North and Harding. Worker being threatened. Probably related to the 10:28am call.
11:43am - Some call on Davlin Ct.

7:06pm - Beat 1461David has a house fire on the 1600 block of N Kimball. It's going pretty good.
7:07pm - Beat car 1422 is being assigned to the fire. The rear coach house is on fire at the location.
7:10pm - 1) 1422 is on scene, and is saying that northbound traffic needs to be blocked on Kimball at North Ave. 2) Gang disturbance. On 1421's Beat.
7:12pm - Gang disturbance. On 1421's Beat.
7:15pm - Beat 1405 is doing park checks at Holestin and Haas Park. Event number for Holestin is 13774 and Haas is 13776.
7:16pm - Beat car 1421 is asking Dispatch to contact CTA to get the northbound Kimball buses rerouted at North from the fire, and the southbound buses on Armitage.
7:28pm - Gang disturbance. 17XX N Sawyer. Ten to 15 of them out there throwing bottles at cars and screaming.
7:32pm - Beat car 1422 is saying that there's been five displacements from the fire. A mom, dad and three boys, aged 13, 12 and 4, respectively, have been misplaced. Red Cross will be providing them shelter.
7:36pm - Loud music disturbance. 24XX N Maplewood. Neighbors in the basement are playing loud music, live band.
7:37pm - Suspicious person. 31XX N Kimball. Male with a dark hat and a hooded jacket is standing in the rear near the garage is pointing as if he has a gun.
7:40pm - An RD number is being pulled from the fire. It's HW111137 with the event number is 13658.
7:49pm - Suspicious vehicle. Kimball and Fullerton. Black Ford Crown Vic with tinted windows is driving suspiciously around the area.
7:53pm - They're calling back on the 7:37pm job, they're saying the guy's still there.
