Crime Blotter For January 3, 2011

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 4pm. I've been in a pretty bad mood all day, and last night. School was good, but it's the community that's pissing me off. And, I just want to say for those of you who think complaining to me about issues/concerns about crime and disorder in our neighborhood is going to fix everything, think again. And, this especially applies to those of you who yell and get mad about an issue. Let's just say I tried to save this neighborhood and it didn't work. For now on, I suggest all complaints go to CPD and your elected official. Not me. Thank you. Here's crime for this afternoon and evening.

4:26pm - Some call at Milwaukee and Monticello.

5:57pm - Some call in the area. Sorry I'm forgetting what's happening, but I'm just not really in the mood to blog.

6:14pm - Information for the police. 2800 N Central. Street lights are out.

6:53pm - I have to go eat, and with that, I'm gone for the night. I just don't have it in me to continue blogging tonight. I'll be back tomorrow when I get home. Goodnight, everyone.

For what it's worth...
I've just started reading your blog when I found it on Christmas Eve. I think it's great what you're doing and I wish everyone had the same gumption as you do. Have you ever considered a career in law enforcement or politics? I'd vote for you. I am quite older than you, but still young as well. I find it somewhat discouraging that when I do go to CAPS/Ward meetings, I am the youngest by 30 years. It is US (the younger generation) that will be the ones to take over the neighborhood and are left resposible to fix what the previous generation has not. I applaud you for creating this blog and making the community more aware.

Just remember, there is nothing that one person can do on his/her own. You are doing the BEST that anyone can and it's people like you that help start to make the community a better place. You can't save everyone, and you can only help people who help themselves or want it. You're doing a wonderful job and I am happy to help you fight the fight.

Hey Timmy,

Hope you had a good Christmas & I wish you the best for you and your mom for 2011.

I loved your Crime Highlights for 2010, great summary. Thanks for your hard work.

Please ignore all the ignorant comments people leave behind. I guess they must not have anything better to do.

I hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Keep warm!

Hey man,
Don't worry. You are helping. Rome wasn't built in a day.
And Avondale/Logan Square wasn't restored in one either. It takes time and effort. By all of us. And YOu are a big part of a community. It's the community that needs to help, not just one person.
So don't stop what you're doing. This is a great thing- and I was discussing it with someone else on New Year's Eve. So your blog gets read. Trust me. Keep up the good work.

Hey Corgador, thanks for leaving this comment. Yes, I have considered a career in law enforcement. Actually, I'd like to be a police dispatcher and help both the citizens and the police officers on the other side of the radio. And I agree, it is up to those of us who are the younger generation to take over once the previous generation can no longer do it.

Anonymous 7:38, thank you! That was a really nice comment and I really appreciate it.

Anonymous 8:42, I do agree, our neighborhood can't be restored in one day. But it makes me mad when no one takes me seriously at these meetings. I bring up a problem on my block and it seems I get a blind eye to it each and everytime. But I'm not going to stop what I'm doing. If it comes down to it, I'll work alone if I have to.

Forget it, the neighborhoods toast. People just don't care. The country's going down fast. God help us...
