Traffic Accident On Harding

Good morning, everyone, it's 9:05am. I'm back with 25 on this foggy, cloudy and (currently) cold day. Right now, it's 22 degrees, but it's supposed to get to be about 35 degrees and sunny. We'll see how it goes. Anyway, tomorrow is MLK day. I hope there's peace tomorrow because MLK day stands for peace. So, here's crime for today.

10:57am - Traffic accident. 3114 N Harding.

10:58am - Assist the citizen. 2845 N Hamlin. Caller needs help with getting the kids for the weekend.

12:01pm - Traffic accident. 4000 W Armitage.

12:02pm - The caller's calling back on the 10:58am job. Now they want a supervisor. Beat 2573, who responded originally, says that the caller was supposed to relocate to Irving Park and Sawyer, where the other parent lives with the kids and call the police from there. Sounds like a bunch of unnecessary drama if you ask me.

2:39pm - Assault. 2652 N Harding. Complainant threatened by a tenant.

2:50pm - Commerical alarm. 2965 N Milwaukee. At MB Financial Bank. Second call had someone putting in a valid code, thus canceling the alarm. But the cops still have to go over. However, the thing is, the bank there was torn down.

3:01pm - Domestic Battery. 3600 W Diversey. In the store. Caller had their armed grabbed by the ex and the son was also abused.

3:30pm - EMS run. 2620 N Springfield. Help needed with a mental patient.

3:43pm - Burglar alarm. 2253 N Keeler.

4:56pm - Gang disturbance. 2525's Beat.

5:09pm - Theft. 3940 W Fullerton. At CVS. Male Hispanic, 20-30 yrs old, black jacket with red lining on it and dark blue jeans just stole some stuff and fled west into the Hermosa neighborhood on Fullerton. Another male and a female Hispanic were with him into the vehicle, which is a black Jeep.

5:49 to 6:47pm - I fell asleep. Sorry.

6:48pm - Disturbance. Koz Park. Group of kids playing with fire under the slides.

7:01pm - Beat car 2521 has a traffic stop at 4179 W Belmont.

7:11pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back.

7:30pm - I'm back.

8:16pm - Domestic Battery. 3628 W Shakespeare. Brother hit the caller.

8:48pm - Traffic accident. 4140 W Fullerton. Semi truck VS car.

9:08pm - Parker. 3100 block of N Harding. Permits.

9:14pm - Shots Fired. 2432 N Lawndale. One heard.

9:15pm - Disturbance. 3919 W Fullerton. Problem with a male who passed out and is bothering other customers.

9:18pm - A slow down is being given on the 9:14pm job.

9:41pm - Domestic disturbance. 4123 W Palmer.

9:57pm - Domestic Battery. 2406 N Tripp. Boyfriend of the caller hit them in front of the kids. He's wearing a brown jacket and green pants.

10:06pm - A commenter tells me that there were two, not one, shots heard on Lawndale. No further information. I'll be paying close attention to that area for the next hour and 50 or so minutes while I monitor.

11:02pm - DUI driver. Diversey and Kildare. Southbound is a dark colored vehicle with a plate of 55555519.

11:32pm - Disturbance. 4400 W Diversey. At the currency. Over a check

12:00am - I'm off to bed. Good night, everyone. I'll be back in the morning :).

Definitely heard two shots from the other side of town. Could have been echo though i guess but sounded like two distinct shots.

From the other side of town? On a serious note, thank you for your report. I'll be monitoring that area.

Haha "the other side of town" wasn't quite accurate -- but I'm a good ways away. Also what do you mean when you say a "slow down" was ordered?

Also thanks for running this blog -- it's nice to be able to check up on things in the neighborhood.

LOL. I figured it was a joke. Anyway, a slow down means that officers don't have to rush to the scene. They can still go, though.

Not a problem for running the blog. It feels good to have an informed community.
