Happy New Year: 2010!

Good morning, everyone, it's 12:00am. Happy New Year, everyone!!!! It's finally 2010! I'm excited and hopeful for this new year. I'm hoping it brings alot of good things. Anyway, there's been 4 gunshots on my block about two minutes ago. Already. I called it in to 911. The call taker wasn't too happy that I called it in. She said it's New Year's. I told her I understand that it'll be a while before the police arrive. Well, anyway, I will be making a second post tomorrow morning regarding crime highlights of 2009 for this neighborhood. Here is crime for this first day in 2010.

12:14am - Shots Fired. Barry and Central Park. 6 heard.

12:20am - My call for Shots Fired just came out. 2561Eddie is assigned but is coding it out. I can't really blame them because it's way too busy. There's at least 10 shots fired calls in the district.

12:28am - 1) Shots Fired. 4155 W Barry. 2) Open door. 3135 N Lawndale. 3) Disturbance. 3167 N Milwaukee.

12:29am - Shots Fired. 2125 N Kedvale. Heard in the gangway.

12:31am - Attempt suicide. 3942 W Barry. 20 yr old brother.

12:36am - Shots Fired also being called in at 2121 Kedvale. A guy in a black hoodie was in the back with three other guys. He fired four shots.

12:43am - Fireworks. Fullerton and Lawndale.

12:45am - The 12:43am job is coded. Also, the RD numbers are now HenrySam (HS).

1:27am - Reckless driver. 4355 W Belmont. Going east into Avondale is a car that's going real fast and hit some people? Wow.

1:28am - Traffic accident. 2126 N Hamlin. Gangbangers crashed into the caller's car and now there's a disturbance on scene.

1:35am - Check the well being. 1606 N Harding.

1:44am - Suspicious person. 3720 W Armitage. Male at the door. Caller's unsure what he's going to do.

2:00am - I'm heading to bed. Good night, everyone, and Happy New Year.

9:00am - I'm back. Good morning, everyone :).

9:17am - Beat car 2523 has an on view disturbance at 3181 N Milwaukee involving CTA. A supervisor's being requested to come over. 2510 is on the way.

9:30am - Beat 2510 is on scene at 2523's disturbance. A supervisor from CTA needs to come out with another employee. Sounds like a CTA driver is in trouble .... ;).

9:33am - And that CTA driver is probably going to jail. They're requesting a cage car for a transport.

9:43am - Vicious animal. George and Pulaski. Loose dog just chased the caller and their dog. The loose dog resides at 2840 N Harding.

10:05am - Domestic disturbance. 2606 N Hamlin. Couple fighting.

10:11am - I'm going for a little nap. I'll be back by 11:14am.

11:14am - I'm back. For the rest of the day [except for dinner time], too :).

11:45am - Disturbance. 3850 W North. Male Hispanic, black hat and jacket, drinking beer in front and harassing customers.

11:51am - Burglar report. 3135 N Lawndale.

12:07pm - A unit is with a citizen at 3939 W Fullerton who needs a boot on their tire to be removed. Dispatch will contact the city but can't guarantee nothing.

12:12pm - Domestic disturbance. 4033 W Nelson. Caller's yelling at someone.

12:18pm - An RD number has been pulled from the 11:51am job. It's HS100705 with the event number of 07694.

1:30 to 2:24pm - I fell asleep. Sorry.

2:29pm - EMS run. Hamlin and Wellington. Male on the ground, not breathing.

4:08pm - Domestic disturbance. 3944 W Wrightwood. Wife won't let the complainant see the kids, in violation of a court order.

4:37pm - Narcotics. On 2535's Beat.

5:15pm - A 17th District unit has an on view domestic at 3038 N Monticello. They're asking for a 25th District unit to come assist. One officer says they should handle it alone. Dispatch agrees. 2523 will head over.

5:18pm - 2523 is given a disregard from the 5:15pm thing.

5:19pm - Now that 17th District unit wants a supervisor to bring over a car seat. 2530 has one and will. 2540 was also asked to bring another one but didn't reply.

5:26pm - Domestic disturbance. 3110 N Milwaukee. A couple in an apartment are making loud noises, which leads the anonymous caller to believe they're domesticating.

5:50pm - Person w/ a knife. 2032 N Karlov. Drunk boyfriend has a knife.

5:51pm - Disturbance. 3119 N Haussen. Drunk guy sleeping in the hallway.

6:35pm - Parker. On 2523's Beat.

6:43pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.

7:00pm - I'm back.

7:45pm - A unit has a traffic stop at Wrightwood and Tripp.

9:05pm - Check the well being. Lawndale and Milwaukee. Male not dressed for the weather, crawling on the ground and just passed out.

10:17pm - Shots Fired. 2917 N Ridgeway. One heard with two males running towards George.

10:48pm - Not sure what happen with the shots fired, but I'd like to say this, there was a very good police response :). I observed the Beat car, a wagon and an unmarked unit come down here about four minutes after the call came out. But to the idiot who had their car doubled parked in the middle of the street, YOU SHOULD'VE MOVED IT. The police had to get through for an emergency. If I were one of the cops, I would've wrote you a ticket right on the spot. Or I would've pushed your car with my squad car.

10:49pm - Shots Fired. Ridgeway and Oakdale. Caller says they were shot at as they were going to their car, but they don't want to speak to the police. But they gave their name. Why'd you call then? Unless you want to talk, it's a waste of time looking for an offender. The alleged offender is a male Hispanic gangbanger.

11:02pm - Check the well being. 4418 W Fullerton. Female with a baby says she's got nowhere to go.

12:00am - I'm going to go. I'll be back after my dinner tomorrow night.
