Woman getting beaten by man on Pulaski

Good afternoon, everyone. It's 3:44pm. I'm so excited that Spring Break is here. That means I get to blog for an entire week with few interruptions. Anyway, I will be covering until 5:08pm, then I return at 7:58pm. Here is crime for this afternoon/evening.

3:33pm - Battery in progress. 2018 N Pulaski. On the 2. Male beating his woman.

3:36pm - Assault. 1904 N Lawndale. Male just threatened the caller and fled.

3:37pm - Beat car 2535 gets a prostitution in addition to the 3:36pm job.

4:12pm - They're calling back on the 3:36pm job.

4:35pm - 1) Disturbance. 2414 N Tripp. Someone's dog that has been missing for months has just been spotted with another person and now the guy and the caller are arguing. 2) Beat 2524 gets some sellings on the beat.

4:38pm - 1) Disturbance. 2926 N Ridgeway. Kids loitering in the backyard. 2) Burglar alarm. 1801 N Lawndale. No further information.

4:42pm - 1) Fire run. 2543 N Killbourn. Trash can on fire. 2) Disturbance. 2537 N Lowell. Someone is having a problem with their landlord.

4:52pm - Beat car 2505 is doing a park check at Ken-well.

4:53pm - Beat 2505 is asking if there's a person down call at Wellington and Kenosha. Dispatch replies no. It sounds like some citizens say there are a person down.

5:01pm - Original call of Burglary report is a Burglary. 1945 N Hamlin. No further information.

5:03pm - The 4:38pm Lawndale job is coded out 14Nora.

5:06pm - Gang disturbance. Belmont and Central Park. Off duty P.O is calling in to say a group of gang members flashing signs and throwing bottles at their car.

5:08pm - I'm going to go now until 7:58pm. I'll be back.

7:58pm - I'm back.

8:07pm - A unit has a handwaver at 3140 N Hamlin.

8:14pm - Burglar report. 1923 N Hamlin. This is a 16 minute old call.

8:56pm - Lanlord/tenant dispute. 2140 N Hamlin. Teen caller reports mom and landlord in argument.

9:00pm - I'm taking a short hiatus, until 9:39pm. I'll be back then.

9:39pm - I'm back until 10:29pm.

10:26pm - EMS run. Belmont just west of Keeler. Female White with a cap, tan trench coat and black skirt is down. EMS en route.

10:29pm - I'm going to go now. Good night, everyone, and I'll be back tomorrow morning.

Do you think the police are showing any more presence in the Belmont/Central Park area? THere seems to be more gang activity there lately.

I'm honestly not sure. I still think more foot patrols need to be done in this area (including Belmont/Central Park).

I'll agree with you that there is more gang activity over there lately. Almost everyday (if you're lucky), I hear a unit being assigned to gang disturbances in that area.

I think the dispatchers on the radio need to stop calling 2523 (the Beat car for that area) to other Beats so they can actually patrol the beat more.

I forgot to include this in my original comment, but I have some more information regarding the 5:06pm job. I heard on the radio, as I was trying to fall asleep, that the group was walking down the 3100 block of N. Central Park and walked over to Barry and Monticello where contact cards were done on them.
