Irate Parent At Mozart School

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 3:49pm. It's a cloudy afternoon outside, with temps in the 30s. It's supposed to rain and snow this afternoon and evening, but I don't think it will. We're supposed to get some snow accumulations on Thursday. But enough of that. Here's crime for this afternoon and evening.

3:51pm - Disturbance. 2200 N Hamlin. At Mozart school. Irate male parent at the school needs to leave.

5:15pm - Missing person report. 42XX W Nelson.

6:51pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back.

7:04pm - I'm back.

7:29pm - Traffic accident. 3814 W Armitage.

8:30pm - I'm going to go. I'll be back tomorrow or sometime this week. Either way, good night to all of you.

I'd be irate too with all the schools time and money being spent on ilegals and bustout kids that will never learn. Maybe learn how to work a Link card perhaps.

Tis the season for panhandling. On my way to the office I decided to give a man a quarter. Hopefully, he doesn't spend it on booze or dope.

Irate parent situations are usually a disagreement with the school or DCFS removing a kid from parents custody. What the schools call a disturbance is a joke! In most of these cases where a disagreement is had, it usually means the parent has a valid point and the school has been embarrassed in front of the community and they are trying to save face since they can't seem to work well with anyone.

I find it funny that Chicago Public Schools scream and yell for parental involvement and then when parents get properly involved, they want the police to come remove them, but are not willing to sign a criminal complaint for an arrest to happen. Is that because the school has no legal standing on a criminal offense? Me thinks so!

Here's the newest bull##it from the school system: they like to call parents on the rug for actually spending academic time with their kids the way a parent is supposed to because that steps on their toes and the parent isn't properly "certified to teach", so the school calls the state on the parent. There goes your parent involvement you screamed so loudly for!

Anonymous 7:39, if you suspected that, you probably shouldn't have gave him that quarter.

Mary, I actually agree with you a bit, for once.

Anonymous 6:26, I truly agree with you. I have seen this first hand so many times, and then they wonder why the parents are not involved. The schools act like they never do any wrong, and that's a fact. CPS is SO messed up, in so many ways. You've got teachers who hate working with kids, then you have the ones always writing a kid up for no justified reason. Ugh. It makes my head spin, to be honest. I agree that the schools are just trying to save face when they get embrassed in front of the community. We're dealing with that at Sullivan, and it's a big issue. Oh man, you hit the nail right on the head. I couldn't agree more.
