TVB Violator On North Ave.

Good morning, everyone, it's 7:45am. It's a somewhat sunny and cloudy morning out there, about 70 degrees. It's going to be about 80 today, with some showers this morning but the sun coming out in the afternoon. Anyway, I'm hoping there's not craziness in the neighborhood like there was last night. On the precaution side of things, I'll be monitoring the St. Hyacinth's carnival from 9:30pm to midnight in this color unless conditions warrant for an earlier monitoring time. Lastly, the only thing I have this week is a hearing Downtown on Tuesday morning regarding Danny's Liquors. Hope that goes well. On that note, here's crime for today.

3:57pm - 1) Narcotics. Belmont and Monticello. 2) Parker. 2800 block of N Ridgeway.

4:03pm - Person w/ a gun. Monticello and Belmont. Eight males are sitting by the white frame house and a male Hispanic with a shaved head, ponytail and red shirt has the gun. He hid it under something. Seven other males involved in this. One has on no shirt, carrying a red shirt. They're chasing people as they go by. This is per anonymous callers as well as the POD Camera watchers at OEMC.

4:04pm - Now it's coming in as "Shots Fired". Two shots fired.

5:18pm - 1) Theft. 2550 N Pulaski. At the Marathon gas station. Eight kids ran in and stole merchandise. 2) Suspicious vehicle. 37XX W Cortland. Car parked there that is not familiar in the community.

5:28pm - EMS run. 24XX N Tripp. Unconscious brother.

5:52pm - Battery in progress. 20XX N Avers. Five guys fighting with bottles.

8:02pm - EMS run. Milwaukee and Ridgeway. Male fell off a ladder and injured his rib.

8:45pm - Fire. 39XX W Armitage. House by the railroad tracks.

8:50pm - Beat 2566David is going into 25 with one from the 2800 block of N Hamlin.

My boundaries are Ridgeway to the west, Diversey to the south, Central Park to the east and Milwaukee to the north. Unless there's a "Shots Fired" call or something major in the area, do not except any calls outside of this coverage area.

10:36pm - Disturbance. George and Lawndale. Problem with security at the carnival.

11:00pm - The carnival should be letting out now. This is the last night of it until next year.

11:23pm - Hold the phone ... call of "Shots Fired" on the 2600 block of N Springfield. Four heard.

11:24pm - Shots Fired. 37XX W Diversey. Four shots heard. I called this one in.

11:30pm - Haven't heard anything on the Springfield gunshots, so back to the coverage area. Meanwhile, officers are saying my call is fireworks. Uh, ok, I guess.

12:00am - I'm gone for the night. I'll be back in the morning. Good night, everyone.

Thanks for the blog. Awesome to know whats going on around the neighborhood. I live around Kostner and Diversey. This neighborhood is cleaning up some what. It seems all the gangs are moving west (towards the brickyard area). Anyways thanks again. Dave

I second that. I live in Logan Square and appreciate all your efforts. I truly believe you have made a huge impact in several communities. Thanks.

Close that Danny's liquors. Get rid of the liquor stores and those homeless bums will go elsewhere.
