25th Dist. Unit On Traffic Stop On Milwaukee

Good morning, everyone, it's 12am. It's a clear night outside. It's in the upper 60s. It'll be sunny today, and in the lower 80s. Anyway, I'll be monitoring 14 from 8am until 4pm for the school day at the following schools: Chase, Drummond, Moos and Yates. The only calls in 14 I'll blog will be from those four schools, or if there's a call like "Shots Fired" or something. I just want to give you all an idea of what a school day in 14 is like. If Clemente High School is open, I'll also monitor that school, since kids from our neighborhood go there. At 4pm, I'll come back with 25 for the remainder of the day. That's all I have to say, so here's crime for today.

12:43am - Beat car 2522Robert has a traffic stop at 3200 N Milwaukee.

12:44am - I'm heading to bed. I hope everyone has a great night. See you all in the morning.

8:00am - I'm back. Good morning.

8:29am - I thought I did hear something about a school crossing at Drummond, but I can't be sure.

1:53pm - Theft report. 1839 N Richmond. At the Yates school. Six IPods were stolen.

2:51pm - Assist the P.O. Diversey and Campbell. Two officers are making an arrest and the caller thinks they need help.

4:00pm - I'm gone with 14. I'll be back with it before the month's over. Switching over to 25 now...

5:00pm - Apparently, I need to make this clear to a couple of people who are telling me to get a job. The reasons I don't have one yet is one, because NO ONE IS HIRING (believe me, I've applied for jobs all over the place and haven't gotten anywhere) in this economy, and two, because I have to have a high school diploma to get a job. I don't have that yet. Haven't graduated high school yet. And FYI, I DO have a life more than this blog. Just letting some folks know. Sorry if this like a diary to some of you.

6:16pm - Gang disturbance. Belmont and Ridgeway. Group of four flashing gang signs.

6:30pm - Disturbance. 2638 N Pulaski. At the Public Storage place.

6:39pm - Battery in progress. 37XX W Dickens. Two drunks fighting in the garage.

7:03pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back.

7:20pm - I'm back.

8:43pm - Gang disturbances at Wrightwood/Ridgeway and on the 2000 block of N Keystone.

8:46pm - Theft. 3646 W Fullerton. Aboard a CTA bus.

8:55pm - Criminal damage in progress. Diversey and Ridgeway. Gangbangers tagging a building.

9:42pm - Disturbance. 3844 W Belmont. At the bank. This is on 17's side, but somehow ended up in 25. Anyway, a drunk man is causing a ruckus in front and is urinating all over the place.

9:54pm - Suspicious person. Fullerton and Monticello. Two males lurking around the area.

11:07pm - Disturbance. 30XX N Hamlin. Unknown male came in the caller's apartment.

11:09pm - Parker. 41XX W Wellington.

Anyone can get a job if they continue to look. Perhaps not going to so many community meetings and job hunt a bit more. Part of being an adult is learning to deal with not everyone liking you. Your blog is pretty good but could be organized better, monitor other zones more, less naps ect...Also, you cant force residents to attend CAPS meetings. Some people do not think they work.

I'm still job hunting and will continue to do so. I've been cutting down on the number of meetings I go to. As for blogging other Zones, that defeats the purpose of this blog. This blog is called the "Avondale/Logan Square Crime Blotter", which is dedicated to these two communities. I mainly only monitor Zones 1, 3 and 12, as they are the Zones these two communities fall on. I do have another blog that covers crime all over the city (that one is updated MUCH less than this one). I'm trying to take less naps, but that's something I can't help. I just get tired. It's something I've been dealing with for a year now. I don't force anyone to go to meetings, I just try and pressure them so they can change their part of the community. I honestly don't think a lot of CAPS meetings work either, but I still go. It's all to fight the good fight. Now can we all just move on and go to another topic? I've explained myself way too many times and don't feel like doing so any longer.

Again. Considering you are in high school, there are far worse things for a young man to get himself into that are far less appealing than COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT. Seriously. Also, Timmy, frequent napping can be a sign of depression. I've been there. Oh. And my PhD is in educational psychology. Which is another reason I admire you do and am baffled by these haters. Seriously. It's not like they are being forced to click on this website. I don't get it. Stay strong little root.

Who is this "Anonymous" idiot, you should stop reading or posting his comments. He's an idiot. Timmy, you're very loved here, always remember that. You're very focused, and I know it's hard for you to ignore and dismiss people. But sometimes, you really should. Love, Erica

I appreciate all that you do. Don't listen to the folks who criticize your work. If they don't like it, they have to choice not to read it. I live out of state, but my daughter lives in Logan Square, so I keep up with it each day.

Agreed With 6:11 ! Why because all of these people keep Babying an 18 yr instead of letting him know or learn how to be an adult or learning when it comes down to it or pertaining to comments of critism on his blog ! Yes he does a great job , but he needs to learn how to look at different stuff another way or why people grill him. He is not a kid anymore ! and addressing people in a rude way or not understanding a point or critism,or not agreeing does not give a right to whine or lash back unless is needed to , and that's most of the time with him. Not everyone has the time like he does to go to all these meetings and it shouldn't be pressured or rudely told to people that they should go and not be lazy. We work and have other things to do in life, what busy adults do. This is why we go to his blog to catch up with community happenings ! And when we do tell him extra stuff that does happen to our community he lashes back for us to go to community meetings and stop be lazy, WTH! That's not cool! Maybe he should learn how to communicate better with people who try to support him. Honestly that Babying stuff got to stop! You can congratulate him and praise him but also let him know when he's wrong too. It's his blog but he needs to have a little respect in the way he expresses his self at times! We know he's autistic and personally know what that is but when he reaches adulthood it's time to teach and him learn if he lacks on social skills ! It's not easy but its not hard try! That's good he has supporters but it's sucks that some just keep Babying him! Not saying he's a bad guy but needs to learn not to be belligerent. Enjoy looking at the blog but not his attitude or whining like a child frequently! "Haters" is not a good word to use if someone is trying to give points or there's is nothing to hate! How ghetto that sounds!

I am a three times convicted felon and if I can get a job in this economy than you can also. Have you tried fast food places? Believe it or not you can learn good multi-tasking skills. I have a class X robbery conviction & I work at Wendy's. They even let me work the register now.

Anonymous 8:55, please, stop pressuring me to get a job. I'll get one soon enough. Don't worry. You have to remember I'm a young adult, and it's 10 times harder for us to get jobs. But stop pressuring me.

Anonymous 8:51, are we seriously talking about who sounds ghetto here?? Oh wow. My friend, I think you're the one who sounds ghetto. "Got to stop". Sorry, but that sounds ghetto to me. And I'm not being rude or anything. I'm just saying. For your information, I have already learned some things about being an adult, and continue to learn everyday. You need to realize, it's going to take me a lot longer than most to fully become an adult. It really is. That's not an excuse, that's the truth. It's like I keep telling you, I don't let people talk to me any kind of way. If you're coming on here to "grill" me for no reason, then I'm going to grill you right back. Sorry for being me. And another thing (I keep stating this, but it falls on deaf ears), I only suggest people to go to meetings. Yes I do get mad at times because a lot of people don't show up, but it can't be just me and the same five or six people each and everytime. What especially makes me mad is when I'm walking home after a meeting sometimes, I see a lot of people at home doing nothing or out doing nothing. THAT'S what makes me mad. I totally understand people who don't come because they have to work night shifts and what not. Heck, even I have missed a couple of meetings because of other things I've needed to take care of. And for everyone who's telling me to get a job, there's been times where I have not attended meetings to go to job fairs. And of course, I'm getting ready for college. I don't think you fully do know what autism is. If you did, I don't think you would judge me the way you are.

You know? I'm done with this topic. Here I am, wasting my time arguing about this pointless stuff. Can we all just move on? It's been nearly a week since this argument started, and we're still talking about it. Get off my back already. I won't be here much longer anyway, because of my family moving in about a month or so. So none of you will have to worry. I'll be working and be in school at the same time. But when my stress level goes up to the roof, don't cry about it.
