East Garfield Park Crime Blotter: Nightime, In June

Good evening, everyone, it's 9:55pm. I'm finishing off monitoring a time period for East Garfield Park which I never monitored, and that'll be from now to midnight. Just one note, which is that I'll have notes on Beat 1434's CAPS meeting up here tomorrow. Here's crime in East Garfield Park for this part of the evening.

10:06pm - Loud music disturbance. 3256 W Washington.

10:28pm - 1) Burglar alarm. At some house on the 2700 block of W Wilcox. 2) Fireworks. Sacramento and Wilcox.

10:38pm - Fireworks. Jackson and Mozart.

11:16pm - I just made a new blog, everyone. This one will cover the entire city (if not, most of it) of Chicago via the scanners. This blog won't be as extensive as this one, but still, I think it'll be worth some reads. Here's the link. Enjoy!

11:55pm - Loud music disturbance. 1X S Homan.

11:56pm - Robbery. Harrison and Sacramento. Details to follow...

12:00am - I have to go to bed. I'll be back tomorrow afternoon with 25. Good night, everyone, and be safe.

Hey! This is great! 3256 is the nasty not well managed building next door to me!!

The owner has no maintenance so grass can get 3' tall in the parkway. There is trash strewn all over the ally frequently...for as many as 14 years. To be fair..this owner has owned for maybe 7 years. But tenants frequently are loud and a nuisance to the neighborhood.

Starting 3 weeks ago there were approx 12-25 youth hanging in the front. They were loud, beligerrent, threw food wrappers everywhere,. It was frightening. A neighbor called the police.

Yesterday the tenants started playing music at 11am and were playing at 11pm....eve when they were not outside. It was like a disco alley.

This is bad because the LARGE sect8 property across the alley with a hundred units..also can have this problem of music so loud it can be heard down the block.

The owner is an absentee sect8 owner. Many neighbors complain about how these types of owners are not responsive to neighbor calls for help...

Gee, and whom are most of the section 8 dwellers? Ghetto savages of course. The type of folks those uppity yuppies don't want as neighbors.

Anonymous, I'm sorry you have to live next to there. Hopefully you and your neighbors can organize a block club or neighborhood watch of some sorts to take back your community.
