Parkers On Beat 2525

Good morning, everyone, it's 9:38am. We've got a beautiful Sunday morning here. Sun's shining, and there's a breeze. Just the way I like it. It's still going to be somewhat hot, though. The cooler weather doesn't completely kick in until about tomorrow or Tuesday. Anyway, from this Thursday until next Monday, the annual carnival for St. Hyacinth's will be here. During those days, I will be kicking into special coverage mode of the carnival. You guys will have a schedule for each day on the posts for those days. The boundaries for the special carnival coverage will be Oakdale to the north, Ridgeway to the west, Schubert to the south and Central Park to the east. Maybe I'll drop by there on Thursday, just to look at the rides and walk around for a little bit. But I do not plan on being there for the most part. It's a gang fest every year. With that, I'll stop ranting :). Here's crime for today.

9:45am - Parkers on 2525's Beat.

11:26am
- Disturbance. 3035 N Pulaski. In front of Auto Zone is a male Black, black t-shirt and blue jean shorts, panhandling and trying car doors.

12:02pm - Domestic disturbance. 2208 N Karlov. Problem with a male on scene. Caller is scared.

12:08pm - 1) Assault. Milwaukee and Avers. Caller had cement thrown at them. The call is a novel, too. I know who the caller is, though, and won't blame them for giving 911 a novel. 2) Domestic disturbance. 2027 N Karlov.

12:19pm - Check the well being. Kedvale and Palmer.

1:24pm - I'm off to do a continued mission in the area. I'll be back :).

5:56pm - I'm finally back.

6:30pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back.

6:42pm - I'm back.

7:04pm - Battery. 2856 N Springfield. Caller was hit in the face and had their clothing torn.

7:23 to 7:43pm - Fell asleep. Sorry.

8:20pm - Loud music disturbance. 2911 N Kostner.

8:52pm - Gang disturbance. Belmont and Lawndale. They're harassing people in front of the pizza place. That's on 17's side, though. Oh well. At least the cops are going.

9:28pm - Gang disturbance. 2800 N Pulaski.

9:37pm - Prostitution. Pulaski and George.

9:56pm - 1) Assault in progress. 4030 W Nelson. Woman's cussing someone out on the 2nd floor. 2) Reckless driver. Grand and Pulaski. Car with a plate of X7794017 is speeding north, all over the road. Putting this out there just in case it comes north of North Ave.

10:11pm - Loud music disturbance. 2700 block of N Ridgeway.

10:27pm - EMS run. 2952 N Kenosha. Man down. He's talking, but he can barely be understood.

11:07pm - Ok, everyone. I've got some photos to share with you. These photos may make you sick, or really pissed off, so viewer discretion is advised. These pics are of the Milwaukee Avenue drunks. I told my alderman if the problem kept up or got worse, I was going to put these photos up, and I'm not going to break my promise.Let's start with this one, shall we? This is a photo of a woman at Milwaukee and Avers, who can be clearly be seen throwing rocks at the photographer, who is a CAPS member. She's one of the drunks. This is actually what the 12:08 call at Milwaukee and Avers was about.

Photo of the woman, sticking her butt out to the camera. Also, a drunk man who showed off his penis last week in front of 3094 N Milwaukee. From what I understand, the business refused to call 911.

A photo of two drunk enablers, physically walking towards the photographer in a threatening manner, at Milwaukee and Avers.

Another drunk enabler, Milwaukee and Avers. She also got up in the photographer's face. Claimed to be the wife of one of the drunks.

Two drunks behind the alley of Bristol Liquors, 3086 N Milwaukee.

11:11pm - Some call in the area.

11:26pm - Domestic disturbance. 2307 N Keeler. Problem with the husband.

There's going to be a liquor store opening up near my place by the Belmont blue line. I'm expecting drunks to congregate in my neighborhood just like they do on Milwaukee Ave.

You know what, anonymous? The reason why my photographer took pictures is because these "just" drunks are disrupting the quality of life on Milwaukee Avenue. They may keep to theirselves, but they drink openly, lay on the sidewalk and whatever else they do. They also trespass into buildings and garages. These drunks are bringing the neighborhood down. Notice that no one shops on Milwaukee? Because of these drunks. These pictures are good documentation that our alderman doesn't do anything, either.

F, that's just great. I'm also expecting the drunks to congregate over there. If anything, if we actually get our drunks pushed off Milwaukee, they may go north and east, right towards that new liquor store.

And, also, anonymous? If you punch the photographer, who's also a friend of mine, you would have to punch me, too. I would've taken photographs, too.

Its ok to drink and keep to yourself but some of these drunks are loud mouths they get aggresive when there drunk. I was by there today by monticello i almost hit a guy with my bumper he was laying down on the floor and no he was not drug but he was getting high, he was about inject himself when i heard him pound my car to warn me i got out to check it out and im you cool, hes like im about to be. To me its ok use recreational drugs but do it somewhere where no one can see you like at home or something, some people may not agree with me but if you want to do drugs its your choice. The drunks are a problem when there drunk or high because they cant control themselves or they can od.

Anonymous 5:24, about the drugs, I agree with you there. Personally, even though I wish people wouldn't take drugs at all, it's not really a problem if you do it in your own house, where no one can see you. But if you have cars pulling up to the house, drug sales going outside, or people going in and coming back out with drugs, then it's a problem. Of course, it's a real big problem when you do drugs in public.

About the drunks, though, I disagree a bit. I disagree because even if they're keeping to theirself, they shouldn't be drinking in public. Then, I also have a problem with them passing out all over the place. It brings the 'hood more down than what it is already. But, regarding the drunks getting aggressive, I totally agree. Some of these guys (and gals) get really loud and aggressive.

Being drunk in public is against the law. Keeping to themselves is irrelevant. The sidewalk is a public way, and having these people lying across them is also against the law. They ought to be rounded up and arrested every day.

I will say that they tend to be central European, and the culture of public alcohol consumption is different in central Europe. It is really common to see this sort of behavior in train stations etc. in Germany, the Czech Republic etc. Never been to Poland, but I bet it is common there too.

Finally, I doubt the Belmont liquor store will create this sort of activity. There are liquor stores all over the city that don't have this. Milwaukee Avenue is kind of unique and I think it may be the central European issue making it happen. I don't think that is as strong over by Belmont.

Actually, anonymous 9:37, being drunk in Chicago in public is NOT against the law. You can be intoxicated in public. However, laying on the sidewalk is against the law, and I agree they should be arrested for being on a public way. I agree with you about their culture.

As far as them going to Belmont, I think it might happen because we are (trying to) push the drunks out of our area, and I think they may move north and/or east, in that direction. But I can also agree that it's a kind of unique problem along Milwaukee Ave.
