Park Check At Kelvyn Park

Good morning, everyone, it's 11:14am. I had something to do this morning at the 911 center, so that's why I'm just now here. I'm glad to be back, because riding the Madison bus heading back Downtown was not good. The bus was so crowded that people were standing all the way to the doors. At a couple of stops, people couldn't get on at all. Anyway, it's still really hot out. I was sweating to no end again, LOL. Enough with the goofing around on my part, here's crime for today.

12:02pm - Beat car 2524 is doing a park check at Kelvyn Park.

12:03pm - Beat 2562Boy needs a transport unit at Milwaukee and Avers.

12:35pm - The event number from the 12:03pm thing is 08002.

5:57pm - Burglar alarm. 3651 W Schubert. At Monroe school.

6:29 to 6:34pm - Had the radio turned down. Sorry.

6:44pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back.

6:57pm - I'm back.

7:42pm - Gang disturbance. Springfield and Belden.

8:02pm - 1) Open hydrant. Belden and Springfield. 2) Suspicious vehicle. 2307 N Harding.

8:19pm - Domestic disturbance. 3019 N Milwaukee. Problem with the husband. A gun may be involved.

9:00pm - Burglar report. 3904 W Barry.

9:07pm - An officer has a woman screaming for help at Milwaukee and Wolfram. Two males were seen taking off as they pulled up to the woman. She's screaming that a man is hurt on the street. One male is in custody.

9:12pm - Foot chase. Central Park and Schubert. Two males, one Hispanic and one Black, are running from CPD. Heading south.

9:13pm - Still going south. They're hopping gates.

9:14pm - A slow down is being given. They're in custody at 2647 N Central Park. The victim is with police at Diversey/Kimball/Milwaukee. Ambulance needed because the victim is roughed up.

9:23pm - Turns out this was a robbery.

9:39pm - Gang disturbance. 21X4 N Hamlin. Five gangbangin' in front, refusing to leave.

10:09pm - Battery in progress. Hamlin and Shakespeare. 50 people fighting. They're chasing someone. Guns are involved. Sounds like a chaotic scene.

10:13pm - A slow down is being given on the 10:09pm job.

10:20pm - A code will be given on the 10:09pm job. It's B.S., according to an officer.

11:05pm - Disturbance. 2018 N Hamlin.

12:00am - I'm done monitoring for the night. See you all in the morning. Sweet dreams.

Hey Tim I got a question i just moved to the hood from the southside. I took a pretty long walk today to get a fell of whar the hood was like on my walk by north and lawndale there was five teens 15-18yrs old two of them had gang shirts you know gang symbols and stuff and the others ones had green tees if i called the police on them can they of gotten arrested or no? They were hollering gang slogans and i was 100% sure two of them had guns they were walking in front of me and when they walked it looked like he had a gun. Im used to crime but this look kind of crazy because police passed by them and they didnt stopped them or frisk them. Anyhow you got a new fan me lol i live by the border line of logan square and humboldt park.

Hey Dwayne,
If they're walking around and hollering signs, the police can't do much about them. At best, they can stop them, search them and write "contact cards" on them. And/or make them leave the area.

If you saw a gun for sure, that's a different story. They would go to jail.

If you're from the southside (especially the 'hood), this ain't nothing, lol. Or it'll probably be the same to you as you dealt with back on the southside.

Just a heads up.

My apartment building at Diversey and Monticello was broken into twice this week. Once on Wednesday night and again Friday evening.

Thanks for the blog.
