The car that opened the fire hydrant is parked on the south side of ridgeway just before the alley by the garage. It is silver and has temporary plates. They went into the building on the corner of george and ridgeway. Maybe someone from the neighborhood can walk by and get the plates? They have a stolen city of chicago magnetic hydrant wrench and the police are looking for them.
guess what. The car that opened the fire hydrant is now on the 2800block of ridgeway parked on the west side of the street temp licence plates 109M169. Originally reported as a silver car its actually gold. The guy lives on the east side of the street middle of the block. Time to call the cops?
More info on the car have other citizens calling in. Its an oldsmobile intrigue, gold LIC. 109M169
Yes, the cops need to be called. Give them the plate, car description, where it's parked in front of, etc. I'm going to see if I can see the car.
hydrant still open, gangbanger still hanging out. So much for "the city that works"
From what I heard, the police will no longer be responding to anymore calls over for it. The officer says there is nothing he can do about it. And, the Water department was notified about it. They should be out there tonight or tomorrow to shut it off. I heard that there was only one truck out there in the whole city, so it'll be a while.
Also, regarding all of that information you gave me earlier, I have someone you should email about it. Email the 25th CAPS Sergeant, Tim Weiglein (if you want his email address, email me. I'm not supposed to give CPD emails out over the blog), and tell him about this guy. I think he's someone that should know about it.
Timmy thats personal info anon posted should be removed.
Anonymous 8:01, the information isn't getting removed. Except for the 3:23 comment. This is information about an offender who opened up a fire hydrant. Which is a crime, even though the police may not see it that way. And if someone gives me information on a crime, I'm not removing it.
Anonymous, who gave me all of this info, I'm sorry, but I need to remove the 3:23 comment. Thank you for the information, but the owner's info shouldn't be all over a public blog like this to read.
I called on the gang disturbance that was dispatched an hour later. The description of the 4 shooters on Wrightwood matched the gang disturbance. Just another example of how our district is underserved.
almost 10 o clock, have neighbors complaining that their basement is flooding, they are running the sump pump. Who is going to be liable for this kind of damage. Should the city be sued since they are making a decision not to do anything? I was told when I called 311 that the city is not turning off hydrants til later in the day because they dont want residents to turn them back on. What kind of B.S. is that????
Agreed, anonymous 8:54. Disturbing to hear the same people were involved in both calls.
Anonymous 9:56, that IS B.S. Nothing but. The city needs to get out here and shut the thing off, NOW. And YES, the city should be sued for this.
Wow! Really? Wrightwood and Ridgeway at 7:06?! I was returning home from running within minutes of that (just before or after) and went right past there on Wrightwood. Just f*cking wonderful. jv
Yep, jv. I'm glad you weren't at the scene at the time. and I'm glad you're ok.
