Good morning, everyone, it's 7:28am. Looks to be a beautiful morning, which is why I'm glad the clean-up on Milwaukee Avenue is happening at 9am. We'll be out there until 11. Then, though, I probably will have to go with my mom to run an errand. That shouldn't take more than a half hour or an hour. Anyway, today is my last day of blogging until this upcoming Friday (the 3rd). Why? I'm going on a blog vacation. With school starting back soon, I need a break, to enjoy the other hobbies that I have. Don't worry, however. Even though I won't be here, I will have a post or two up (which I have prepared before-hand) during that time. Not to be rude or anything, but I ask that no one emails me (except for CAPS members on Beat 2523) regarding crime. I need a break from reading and hearing about crime. I'll have my scanner shut off, too. With that, here's crime for today.

Hey I saw everyone out there cleaning at Milwaukee and Central Park this morning. Awesome! I live right at Elbridge and Central Park and I am oftentimes discouraged by the amount of trash and the obvious apathy toward the neighborhood that goes along with it. How can I get involved in the future?
Hey beef, I'm glad you saw us this morning. We had a lot of curious people looking sat us. Anyway, if you'd like to get involved, shoot me an email. I can pull some strings and get in you in our next (and last one, for this year) clean-up next month.
LOL i bet you guys pick up tons of drug baggies and beer bottles by there, milwaukee filled with drug addicts and drunks.
Anonymous, I picked up some beer bottles, but no drug bags. LOL.
Hi Tim! You do a great job and I hope you have a wonderful week. My friend Joel and I were talking over the weekend about how glad we are that you started covering 14 (us!) and how we can always rely on your page. Keep up the great work and post "clean-ups" and stuff like that. Most of us subscribed would love to help out!
Hi Stef, thanks for the comment! I am glad to be a source that can be relied on. I will continue to do what I do and will keep posting the clean-ups and other things.
Shots were fired Sunday night at Kedzie and Diversey. Police and ambulance were on the scene, but I don't see anything in the papers today.
At 11:34 p.m. Sunday, a 32-year-old man was shot in his elbow and ankle in the 2700 block of North Kedzie Avenue, police said. He was in good condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
Don't you miss the old days when the Gaylords ran the area?
Anonymous 9:11, no. I'd rather have no gangs at all. I don't care what their purpose is, or their race. And, the Gaylords didn't run the area I'm in (my immediate block at least). The Simon City Royals did.
The Royals used to run Koz park I remember.
They sure did, anonymous 11:21. As a matter of fact, they ran this whole area.
