Zone D Monitoring: Parker On 1434's Bt., Burglar Alarm On Fairfield

Good morning, everyone, it's 7:48am. It's a mostly cloudy morning with temps in the upper 40s, and today will consist of some showers with temps in the mid 50s. Cold for mid May. Yesterday was colder, though. Anyway, today, I'm monitoring 14 from now until 5:10pm, then again from 9:30 to midnight. Tomorrow, due to Mother's Day, there will be limited monitoring, as I will be spending lots of time with my mother :). Thankful to be done with school for a few weeks. Here's crime for today.

10:47am - Parker. On 1434’s Beat.

11:25am - Burglar alarm. 18XX N Fairfield.

12:03pm - Beat car 1414 is following a possible stolen car on Western Ave., approaching the bridge near the river (by Belmont). It’s headed north.

12:04pm - Still north on Western passing Belmont, headed to Roscoe.

12:06pm - 1414 has the car stopped at Roscoe and Western. Not sure what’s going on with this, really. Only wrote it down because I thought it was going to turn into a chase or something.

12:27pm - 1) Beat 1410 just had a motorcycle take off on him from him at California and Armitage. Took off west towards Mozart. The driver appears to be a male Hispanic who's heavy set. Motorcycle has no plate on it. 2) Someone's got the motorcycle headed east on Cortland from Fairfield.

12:29pm - The motorcycle was black in color. Probably on Western by now.

12:55pm - Haven't heard a thing else about that motorcycle, so I guess they lost it.

1:31pm - Assault. Wabansia and Western. On the CTA bus. Woman who had a baby stroller put it on top of the caller's leg, caller is disabled and now can't move their leg. CFD is en route.

2:06pm - Beat car 1432 is coding out the 1:31pm job. The victim doesn't want to press charges at this time.

4:11pm - Disturbance. Western and St. Paul. At the Marathon gas station. Problem with the station attendant.

4:44pm - Beat 1402, 14th District Desk, is pulling two event numbers. First one is for a robbery mission and the other one is for a gang suppression mission on 1422’s Beat. Robbery is 08327 and gang is 08323.

4:47pm - Beat car 1422 is doing a check on the Bloomingdale Trail at Spaulding.

4:58pm - Hold the phone on Zone D monitoring. I’m getting something over on Zone G that’s of urgence. ... 1) Shots fired. North and Spaulding. 2) Person Shot. 16XX N Spaulding. Female shot in the leg.

4:59pm - It’s bona fide on Spaulding. Female was shot in the leg. Beat 1410 is being notified.

5:00pm - Wanted from the shooting is a male Black, 16 to 20 years old, last seen wearing all black. The person had a small semi-automatic rifle. He fled towards Kimball.

5:03pm - Information for the CPD. 1675 N Milwaukee Ave. Male’s pants are too low.

5:09pm - There’s an updated flash on the shooting offender. He’s got on a red shirt, black hoodie, he’s 5’6 to 5’11 and about 150 to 170 lbs.

5:10pm - A gray Chevy Impala was seen fleeing in the west alley north of North from the shooting, towards Kimball. People on the street are saying this car had occupants in it who fired shots in the neighborhood a few days ago, on either Wednesday or Thursday. Sounds like a retaliation sort of thing. Great....

5:11pm - Beat 1463Boy is touring the area of the shooting. With that, I’m going to go until 9:30. I’ll be back then. Have a great rest of the afternoon, everyone!

9:30pm - I’m back. Good evening, everyone.

10:54pm - Oh, hold the phone again. We’re getting a call of “Shots Fired” at 16XX N Mozart. Gunshots have been heard, one call only and no descriptions or anything. This is in the Zone P area.

10:57pm - Beat car 1423Robert was at California and North when the 10:54pm call and said they didn’t hear any gunshots.

10:59pm - A slow down is being given on the 10:54pm job. Beat car 1421R is on scene.

11:16pm - Disturbance. 23XX W Wabansia. Moving truck moving furniture at the east entrance of the building.

11:34pm - Loud music disturbance. 2735 W Armitage.

11:46pm - Battery in progress. 17XX N Washtenaw. Neighbors fighting.

12:00am - I’m going to go for the night. I’ll be back tomorrow morning. Have a good night, everyone!
