Burglary Mission On The 20 Sector

Good morning, everyone, it's 11:30am. I'm feeling the same as I have been for the last two days. Anyway, I need to address something with all of you. I feel I need to say something. What I will address here is the lack of respect that I have been getting from some of you lately. Most of you are really nice and thoughtful with your comments, but there are some out there who need not say anything and still do. For example, on a recent post, there was a debate about bikers and their race. It got very heated, and a reader ended up accusing me of being racist, just because I mentioned a race. I'll just say this, there is NO way in hell that I'm racist. Just no. So, to wrap this up, I honestly don't care if you guys disrespect each other. That's your thing (but, of course, if you'd like me to say something to the person who's disrespecting you, I can). But I will NOT tolerate disrespect towards myself. Why? Because I'm nice enough to care about you guys to blog crime for this community. I'm even doing it when I'm sick, when I should be doing nothing but sleeping. I don't have to do this, just know that. Quite frankly, a teen like me should be outside, looking for girls and what not. But I care enough to do this. So, I feel insulted when I get accused of things that are clearly false about me. After today, no more of it. I'll just delete your comments. So, yeah, sorry for the long entry, but this has gotten me somewhat pissed off. Without further a do, here's crime for today.

11:35am - Beat 2565Adam asks for a burglary mission on the 20 sector of 25. I can't confirm this, since event numbers this high are NEVER given out this early, but Dispatch says the event number is 10836.

11:42am - Landlord/tenant dispute. 2441 N Kildare. Landlord turned off the water.

12:04pm - Person w/ a gun. Milwaukee and Belmont. Call is coming from the Shell gas station. I have no other information on it.

12:08pm - A slow down is being given on the 12:04pm job.

12:38pm - Battery in progress. 2137 N Lawndale. Something about a guy hitting a crying caller.

1:01pm - A unit asks for a call back on the 12:38pm job.

1:06pm - Domestic battery. 3018 N Hamlin. Male and female fighting in front.

1:08pm - The 12:38pm caller came out. Spanish speaker needed.

1:51 to 4:06pm - I fell asleep. Sorry.

4:35pm - Battery. 3143 N Milwaukee. Behind Taco Bell.

4:58pm - Beat car 2524 has a stop at Kelvyn Park.

5:02pm - Beat 2500, the 25th District Commander, is holding an outdoor roll call at 18:00 (6:00pm) hours at Kelvyn Park, on the Wrightwood side.

5:07pm - Battery in progress. 4106 W Armitage. Males beating on a female.

5:17pm - 1) Disturbance. 3101 N Haussen. The "homeless" are by the garage, refusing to leave. 2) The 1:06pm job is now a disturbance. Guys refuse to leave the porch.

5:46pm - Beat car 2523 is taking one in from Milwaukee and Avers.

5:49pm - Battery in progress. 28X2 N Avers. Five males beating on one.

5:52pm - A disregard is being given on the 5:49pm job.

5:57pm - Distubance. 3620 W Wolfram. Five kids playing basketball in the parking lot of St. Hyancinth's. Cars from a service are still there.

7:10pm - We've got a disturbance, sex offense and criminal damage all rolled into one. Here's what I got. First call came in as a disturbance with three drunks arguing. Then, another call had one of them throwing a brick through a window. At the same time, another dropped his pants. This involves our "lovely" Milwaukee Ave. drunks that have control from Belmont to Central Park. Location of this 911 call is at 3060 N Avers.

7:58pm - Beat car 2523 gets some things on the Beat after lunch.

9:44pm - Some call over at the Fullerton METRA station. The one by Pulaski.

10:41pm - Suspicious person. Palmer and Keystone. Male that is in a parked vehicle has been there for a while. So has the vehicle.

10:44pm - Third call today at 3018 Hamlin. Now it's an EMS run.

10:58pm - Parker. On 2524's Beat.

10:59pm - Backlog in 25 at 22:59 hours. Also, there is no Beat car 2524Robert tonight.

12:00am - I'm gone for the night. Should be back tomorrow. Good night, everyone.

Hatred and racism are both negative feelings and the hater suffers far more than the hated. It is impossible to feel good inside when you are practicing either one. They damage you spiritually and psychologically. I don't know about the rest of you but if I were to shake my Family Tree I might be surprised at who would fall out. The God I worship created all of humanity and He doesn't make mistakes! How can you say you love God and hate what He has created. Keep up the good work, Timmy. "Intelligent" people of all backgrounds are grateful to you.

Basement/my apartment got flooded on Drake.
6 inches of water.
I'm sure there were others also in the hood, it was BAD this morning.
8AM on the dot the water started going down the drain. I wonder if Daley's sewer system is to blame for this.

Don't be discouraged! Your community care and the work you do are evidence of your good intent. You are really appreciated and what you do is important. You've got an army supporting you.

Timmy, you're doing a huge service to the community and we residents can't thank you enough. Anyone who gives you flack probably has something to hide from your watchful eye and is intentionally disrupting things in the comment section as a smokescreen.

Please keep fighting the good fight and know your neighbors are behind you.

Thanks, everyone, for the encouraging comments. When I read comments like this, this is what makes me keep blogging and keeping my head up.

Anonymous 5:26, wow. Sorry to hear that happened to your basement. Hope there's not too much damage. But, yeah, it was bad this morning. Very bad. My alley was like a pond. Fortunately, the water went down after a couple of hours. I think that Daley's sewer system is the blame for this morning.

I just like to let you know i go on this blog everyday because i live in the same neighborhood as you do. by koz park also. As i read your blogs i too have a scanner. I think you do a very good job at what you're doing, but as an adult reading your "blog" theres some maturing you need to work on! all the personal information you put up about yourself , you should keep that to yourself. sorry to say but noone cares about you're personal life every 15mins! I think its lame if you want to call it that . stay to what the scanner says please and not your personal life. and you need to learn how to take critizsm and the bad cooments that are thrown to you, thats the adult world and life. you got to learn how to suck it in, but it doesnt mean to let people walk all over you. another thing that i read from one of your post(7/24 post.)your complaining about the bad things people say you're going to get that becuase people can leave comments and have a right to be entitled to their own opioion just as well as you, so what you where trying to throw out that you dont have to report crime if you didnt want to or you this for the community type comments, good job thats the choice you're making and noone is sticking a gun to your head to force you to make a blog and report crime. personally to me its dangerous for you as a teenager doing this in the messed up neighbor we live in. I wouldnt want nobody to no where i live while im reporting crime from the neighborhood i live. To the bad guys it called being a trick or tattle tell and some of those people get hurt not realizing what they're doing is dangerous. I been through dangerous moments so i know what im talking about.( Im also wondering to you have Aspergers Disorder or some form of autism? just wondering? out of curiosity becuase of my own experience.

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Anonymous 9:24, to answer your question, I have autism. My mom was told this when I was 2 years old. When I first had it, I couldn't speak a word. I couldn't walk, I couldn't play with my toys right. I was basically a vegetable. But then, I got into a school for special needs people at that age, where they worked with me. My mom worked with me most, though. At age 5, thanks to her and my teachers, I finally started speaking. Around 8 years old, my sister started teaching me how to write on the computer and learning how to use one because I fell in love with the computers when I first layed my eyes on it. At the age of 9, I left my second special needs school and was forced to go to a regular school by the wonderful decision makers at CPS. That school I went to had a Special Ed program, but it did not help me one bit. My mom tried to get me into a more appropriate school, to no avail. So, I went to the regular school until it was time for me to graduate to go to high school. Let's just say it was hell, but it did open my eyes to the world. It also helped me get the comprehension I have today. Now I understand almost everything like a normal person. That's just a run down on my life for you, since you seem to be so curious.

Now, let's address the rest of your comment. Let me first address the "maturing" part. I think I'm mature already. Why is it that I can go to school and do what I have to do, but the other kids can't? This is high school, too. And we're all 16, 17 years old. They're almost adults but act like little kids. I don't act like that, and that's considering I have autism.

Second, the personal information. I'd thought people would just like to know a bit about the person who puts this blog out there. I don't want to appear totally anonymous, because that'll mean I'm a coward to them. If we're going to change this neighborhood, we need to stop being scared babies. We need to stop hiding behind our curtains. I'm not saying let the bad people know who you are, but come on, call 911 when needed. The police need all of the help they can get.

Also, about this personal information. What kind of personal information do I put up here that bothers you so much? I just say my first name, the area where I live (I don't give my exact address and will no longer give my block, unless over email).

Every 15 minutes? Just when do you see information every 15 minutes? What, when I'm telling people I'm going to grab a bite to eat, or when I'm going out? That's just to let people know so they know not to except crime posts during that period of time, because I'm away and not listening to the radio. You sound like you are the only one bothered by it, and quite frankly, too bad. This blog doesn't change just because one person doesn't like what I write.

About the criticisms, I only take constructive criticism. Meaning, if someone has a kind suggestion for me, I'll listen and correct my mistake. But I don't take plain criticism. That means if someone tells me I suck or I'm an idiot. I've taken it all of my life and will not stand for it anymore.

About today's post, I said that I'll be deleting any comments that call me a racist or anything similar to that. I know for sure I'm not racist, so that is why I said what I said. It's just untrue and quite frankly an outright lie.

About people's opinions, I let them leave their opinions all of the time. Good or bad. The only opinions I will not accept is ones about me which are completely untrue.

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

I never said anyone was sticking a gun to my head to do this. But why is that nobody else will do it? I've asked people a number of times if I can hand it over to them, but I get no interest whatsoever. I feel that someone has to do this, and I guess that'll be mean, until the politics do it.

I really don't consider myself a teenager anymore. I'm going to be 18 next June, so I'll officially be an adult then.

People don't know where I live. I don't put out my address. I said that I will no longer put my block out there.

I know to the bad guys it's considered being a "trick". I went to a regular school for four years, and I go to regular classes at school now (even though I'm in a program at school). Just to tell you this, for the year and a half I've been doing this blog, I've learned a lesson. That's not to let people know when I call police. I used to do that but no longer will.

So, now to wrap this comment up, I hope once you read I have autism, you'll lighten up a bit. I don't think there was a reason for you to be harsh like you were to me. Especially where you say no one cares about a bit of my life. I not only have community readers here, I also have family and friends who read this blog, so maybe that's why I share it. Thank you.

Hey Timmy! Keep up the great work! Just remember- it's YOUR blog so you have the power to write what YOU want!... just as your readers have the power to read if they want. I'm thankful for your services and, personally, enjoy your input and side notes... it reminds me you're human! Maybe I'll see you at the next Special Olympics event :)

Timmy,
Keep up the good work! You can and should control the comments, so this blog does not turn into a forum for idiots to abuse others and critique the wonderful service you provide to our community. Do not get discouraged. There are good people out there too!

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Hi anonymous 10:29 :). I agree that it's my blog and that I write whatever I want. You're right that the readers can also read if they want. I'm glad someone enjoys my notes. I hope to see you there next May :).

Hey Moulin, I agree that I should control the comments. I want this blog to be a place where we can discuss problems and solutions, not call each other names and attack each other. I'll continue to keep my head up and, yes, there are good people out there. Everyone here with a meaningful, thoughtful, nice and so on kind of comments is a good person!

Timmy,

Keep up the good work. I can tell by the writing style of your critic that he or she is the one that has some maturing to do.

Love your blog. Don't ever quit doing what you love!

Oh my god Timmy, PLEASE TIMMY I have no idea where some of these people have come from who are leaving these dumb comments - half the reason I READ your blog is to hear about what you're doing at school and how you are doing, and what makes the blog so funny to read sometimes are YOUR personal comments!!!! If I wanted a boring rundown of crime, I'd get a freakin scanner myself. Your real fans who have been reading you all along adore you and thank you for the service you're doing our community. Love, Erica

Anonymous 9:24:00 PM... Seriously?

You read this blog everyday but missed the, "About Me" section. It's in the right side panel. All the time.

And I have to ask, why do you think it's okay to tell the blogger what to or not to write? It's HIS blog and he's providing us with information that he doesn't have to provide. I don't believe he's being paid to do this. Our tax dollars are not paying for this service. He's doing it out of the goodness of his heart.

The personal notes adds... well, personality and interest.

Try the everyblock site if you don't want commentary. Of course it's about 10 days behind. Or the chicagopolice.org site which is also about a week or so behind.

I'm in district 17 but still come her often. Keeping a blog up to date is not easy and your hard work IS appreciated.

Hope you're feeling better!

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Anonymous 2:30, agreed and thank you.

Hi Erica, the minute I bring something up I want to address, they come out of the woodwork. Thank you for letting me know that my personal comments are funny. I try to not make people laugh, but if I do, hey, that's a good thing. I'm glad to have brought some brightness into this blog about crime. So, thanks for your comment :). I really appreciate it.

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Anonymous 12:44, I agree. I tell about myself right there. Front page. And yes, I write what I want. My blog, after all. No, I do not get paid for this, but I do it because I care about the safety of the residents in the two neighborhoods that I cover.

I agree that EveryBlock or CPD's CLEARPath system should be used if people do not want commentary, but they both are a week behind.

Thanks for coming by and thanks for the good comment.

So Timmy I guess your pretty famous now, because you have haters lol. Keep doing a good job.

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Anonymous 2:35, I guess I do. LOL. But it's all good. I'm not going to sweat it. And thanks.

Hey Timmy my basement apartment was also flooded and i lost just about all my belongings. If you know of any local numbers or programs that help people out after storms or floods can you know please post them. I am hoping they declare this area a disaster zone so then the government would be obligated to help. Thanks

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Anonymous 7:53, I'm sorry to hear that. I truly am. Unfortunately, I do not know any numbers/programs for situations like this. This is my first time blogging in almost two years that I've dealt with flooding. Also, on another sad note, I don't think they will do that because most of Chicago doesn't really seem flooded. But folks like you should get all of the help they can get.

Timmy-
I'm glad you're not letting Anon 9:24 get to you. Some people just aren't happy until they bring others down. You know, out of the goodness of their heart. Those of us that follow you appreciate you very much. Those that drop by and leave hateful comments are just that - hateful. I'm glad you're not posting those comments. What's the point? What will you or any of us get out of someone trying to bring you down?
And I like the funny comments. You don't leave them all the time and they're never vicious. Sometimes we need to laugh a little or it's just too much.
And I also like hearing how you're day was and whatever else you may want to post. It's your site. Do whatever you want.
And if you're ever not feeling well and want to take off a day or a week or a month, we're behind you 100%. We would miss you but we want you to live the best life you can. With or without the blog. (I hope most of you don't mind being included in my "we" statements.)
Thanks again~

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Hi Ally. That person simply isn't worth my time. I have other things that need to be done, and I'm doing those things instead. I agree that some folks aren't happy until they bring other ones. The hateful comments aren't worth the time.

About the funny comments, I also agree with you on that. If I can, I'll try to leave some more often. As far as my days go, thanks for wanting to hear about them :).

Regarding me taking days off, I try not to take many off, especially in the summer time, as that is when the neighborhood is most active. Also, I try not to take days off so I can save those for vacations. I plan on taking vacations 2 to 4 times of years. My next one is in late August. But thanks for your support :).

Thanks for the comment, again, Ally. It really lighten up my night.

Timmy it's YOUR blog, do what you please. I enjoy reading the comments and side notes that are added while listing what you hear on the scanner. Keep up the good work!

ps. Is everything ok with your computer now?

Anonymous said...

Thats whats wrong with the neighorhood. Not enough "tricks!"

Love reading the blog! Keeep up the good work!

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

F, no, my computer's internet is still messed up.

Anonymous 1:54, I totally agree. And, quite frankly, the word "tricks" is dumb, I think. We're just trying to improve our community. Thanks for the comment.
