Violent Sex Assault in 025 Rattles Community

An innocent teenage girl was brutally attacked in the area of Fullerton and Long recently. This crime has surely shaken her deep to her core, and has taken away her reason to ever feel secure in her surroundings again. The life issues created for this young girl by her attacker are extremely serious! WE can be the ones to help her feel safe and help her start re-building her life by doing the following things:

1. Reporting any and all rumors, or other information about the identity and / or whereabouts of this offender to the police by calling 911 or the Area North Detectives / Special Victim's Unit IMMEDIATELY!

2. If you know someone who knows something about this crime and you know they haven't spoken to the police, YOU pick up the phone and tell police. Remember, you CAN stay anonymous.

3. Even if you don't know anything about this crime, and even if you don't know this young lady, you CAN help support her by being active in the community and taking an active part in exposing rape culture, exposing violent attitudes towards women and children to the light of day, and by volunteering for rape victim advocacy agencies. Many sexual assault victim advocacy agencies have crisis lines that make the difference every day.

4. Please think about going to the 025th district CAPS office or the front desk at 025, and ask them to give you flyers to distribute until the offender in this case is brought to justice. The more police can rely on the community to do this, and other realistically helpful things that draw out unknown violent offenders in cases like this, the safer the community becomes.

Just a reminder that if you see homeless people sleeping in this cold call 311. The vagrants are welcome to camp out in any of the police districts. Harrison & Kedzie seems to get a bunch.

Thanks for the homeless comment, Anon 8:14PM, but we really need helpful or supportive comments about this case. We're talking about a teenage girl who was seriously harmed here.

This is another reason people should keep your eyes open on things around you. I've seen so many folks playing with their phones or listening to I-pods (with headphones) not being aware of what's about.

Does anyone know what churches are giving out the free hams this year? I am planning on Christmas and am broke.
