Good afternoon, everyone, it's 3:54pm. It's a sunny day, and it's hot outside. It feels like June in March. It's about 80 degrees right now. I imagine it's going to be real active. Anyway, I have a meeting this evening at St. Hyacinth's, regarding the new ASPIRA school they want to build at Milwaukee and Monticello. It should be a very interested meeting. Anyway, I'm monitoring 25 this afternoon and evening as long as I can until around 10 or 11pm, when I have to go to bed.
4:14pm - Traffic accident. 30XX N Lawndale. Involving a school bus. It hit two parked cars when turning. EMS on scene.
4:42pm - Beat 2505 is doing a park check at Koz.
5:05pm - Loud music disturbance. 18XX N Harding.
5:10pm - Gang disturbance. Belmont and Monticello.
5:11pm - Beat car 2523 is pulling an RD number from the accident. It's HV197373 with the event number of 11996.
5:16pm - 1) Loud music disturbance. 41XX W Barry. 2) Narcotics. 24XX N Lawndale. Selling. 3) Narcotics. 21XX N Lawndale.
5:29pm - Beat 2540 is doing a premise check at 1747 N. Springfield, the pumping station.
5:57pm - Parker. 4008 W Armitage.
6:04pm - Burglar alarm. 23XX N Kedvale.
6:16pm - Battery in progress. Pulaski and Wrightwood.
6:36pm - Beat 1663Boy is taking one in from a stop at 3800 W Diversey.
6:52pm - Speed chase. Speed chase. Waller and Huron. Sliver Nissan Ultmia took off on Beat 1585.
6:53pm - South on Waller from Ohio.
6:54pm - Beat 1510 is ordering 1585 to terminate. He says there's too much traffic, and is not allowing units to chase for traffic reasons.
6:55pm - They lost the car. Back to regular Zone 12.
7:45pm - Beat car 2523 is getting a disturbance on the PDT after lunch.
8:40pm - We just had a very serious situation unfold in the 15th District in the 5100 block of W Lake St. Shots were fired by the CPD at two men robbing a convenience store. They were both shot, plus one civilian. It's a purely choatic scene. I'll bet they ask officers from 25 to start assisting them in a matter of moments.
8:49pm - Battery in progress. 30XX N Haussen. Two guys fighting. One's got a dog leash.
9:25pm - The 8:49pm job is a bona fide stabbing, per 2524. One of the fighting males got stabbed. Ambulance is on the way to the hospital now. 2510's notified.
9:40pm - I'm going to go for a little bit. I'll be back.
10:29pm - I'm back for the time being.
10:44pm - Gang disturbance. 39XX W Barry. Several throwing up signs and what not.
10:53pm - Beat car 2523 has a traffic stop at 31XX N. Tripp, relating to the 10:44pm job.
10:55pm - I'm going to go for the night. I'll be back either tomorrow, Friday or the weekend. Have a good night, everyone.

I'm new to the city & have a question. Are Chicago police cars at high schools every day after school? Is this necessary? I'm from Danville, Iowa & we didn't need police at our high schools. I guess this is the big city life. Just found the site and can't believe the amount of crime.
Did you hear the shootings west of Kimball in Logan Square this evening?
You should have walked around Burlington, IA for a bit at night near the river to acclimate to Chicago crime. Most Section 8 residents from Chicago have been moving to Cedar Rapids, Dubuque and Burlington according to the Chicago Tribune. But to answer your question.......most of the crime west of Kedzie, north of North Ave and South of Irving Park is created by young uneducated children who ride bicycles or maybe can afford a rusty $750 car who can easily be scared by confidence. Walk around like you are strong. Be strong and don't let the uneducated criminal child gang members rule your life.
I heard about the shooting in 15 too on my scanner. Yet there was nothing on the news this morning about it. Only about the ex-gov. going to jail. Why does the media not report all these shootings in the city? Do they all wear rose coloured glasses?
