How do we find out which "beat" we belong to?

(p.s. Thanks for posting this... and all the other things that you track and post. Your blog has become a great resource in our community.)

Stickfire, go to www.chicagopolice.org. Once you there, go to "community", then when you see the list come up, click on Districts. You can select any one. Once you get to the District page, there should be a box on the right side of the page that says "Find your District and Beat". When you find that box, you then type in your address, then click on "Show my District and Beat". Once you do that, you'll see that a district and Beat number has came up in the box. Once you determine what Beat you're on, you can come back to this list of Beat meetings, find your Beat number then find when your meeting will be.

Hope this helps.

thanks so much for this resource - our neighborhood (beat 1411) is being colonized by gang members who are openly dealing drugs, but the police don't seem to respond to the 911 calls anymore with anything more than a quick driveby. No one knew where the CAPS meeting was or when it was held, and now we do.

No problem, anonymous 8:34. And, I'm sorry to hear about that.
