Shots Fired At Campbell and Belden

Good morning, everyone, it's 12am. Today, I'm monitoring 14. It should be interesting, since it'll literally be 80 degrees today with sun, and today is April Fool's Day (April 1). Nothing else to say, so here's crime in 14 today.

12:04am - Oh wonderful. Already. I've got Shots Fired at Campbell and Belden. No number of shots fired given.

12:05am - Person shot. Multiple calls. 2165 N Milwaukee. Also, someone's got a handwaver at Francis and Stave regarding this.

12:06am - It's getting crazy already. I can't keep up with the information. Allegedly, a 2-door black Hatchback fled down Milwaukee from Palmer, then possibly went up on Campbell to Fullerton. All sorts of different stories being told.

12:07am - The shooting at 2165 Milwaukee is bona fide. Male shot in the arm. He's talking.

12:08 to 12:11am - Police/Dispatch chatter regarding the shooting on Milwaukee. Witnesses were saying a Jaguar was involved in the shooting, too. The Hatchback had a male Hispanic driver. Officers were saying that there's only one occupant in the vehicle. The street Atrill was also mentioned.

12:13am - A unit has the Hatchback stop at 2126 N Stave.

12:21am - Report of a "Battery in progress" at 2100 N Bingham.

12:22am - There's a male running across Kedzie from Barry.

12:28am - Disturbance. 2709 N Albany. Someone's honking a horn.

12:30am - Criminal damage in progress. 3519 W Lyndale. Two males tagging. With that, before anything else crazy happens, I've got a pounding headache and I'd like to go to sleep, so I'm doing so.I'll be back in the morning. Oh, and by the way, the RD number for the Milwaukee shooting is HS235616 with the event number of 00076.

8:19am - Good morning, everyone :). I'm back.

And, also, per 25th District CAPS Sergeant Weiglein, those of you who've been telling me about this activity, should definately to come to this month's meeting because we'll be having a speaker about gangs. Weve had 2 days of gangbangers hanging out on George and Ridgeway. Lets have anyone out there keep a close eye on that spot. Im sure these dorks have something stupid planned. We need to call the cops immediately.

BTW thanks Timmy, your the best

Anonymous, about what time would you say they were out there yesterday (March 31)? And how many? I'll be watching this situation very closely and I will call 911 if I see anything at all.

This is very concerning to me, considering I live very close by and I've been noticing the activity.

there were only 3 guys at least 2 were not teenagers. One with a red hat, one with a green hat and I think green shirt. Th guy with the green hat had a lot of gang tattoos oon his neck and arms, very noticable. One other guy had aome tats too. Never seen these guys before around here. They were there around 5-5:30 and then walked inthe alley going north on ridgeway west alley. Lost track of them after that. I heard later in the day cops stopped some gangbangers somewhere not sure if these were the guys.

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

I don't think I saw the one with the red hat, but I think I saw the one with the green hat. Did he have a grey hoodie over the green shirt? If so, that's the one I saw. He did appear to have tattoos. I've never seen him before.

I'm thinking these guys are here because of the turf war going on between the Cobras, OAs and Latin Kings. It's going to get ugly sooner or later. I can see that already.

quit snitching!

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Hey, 6:10, would you be "skrewtim" again? If so, how've you been? By the way, I'm not "snitching". I'm just telling problems because I want to live in a safe and quiet neighborhood.

why would anyone call the police about a woman selling corn nothing wrong with that they should be calling about all these drug dealers and bangers that are always in logan square i see a lot of drug dealing and bangin going thru logan a lot but dont see police doing anything the sell really sneaky for them not getting caugth

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

H, I agree 100%. I never understood why people call the police for some BS like that. Yeah, they should be calling more for drug sales and gangbangers. I see the gangbanging in Logan Square too and it's sick. What makes it more sick is that half the time, the 14th District cops won't do anything about it.

Thanks for your comment.

yes and i know some people are afraid to call for police cause some are crooked working with the drug dealers i called the police once that there were 10 teens selling heroin by fullerton and tripp the cops never came and the next day my house gets burned up coincidence hell no as soon as that happen i got the hell out off the hood but i like what your doing in this blog atleast we still have hope

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Yeah, there's some crooked cops out here, but most of them are good and they do their job.

I'm sorry to hear what happened to your house. Those teens are idiots for doing that.

I try to put as much hope as I can out there, but it is hard. There's lots of crime in the neighborhood. That's why we all need to unite and do what we can.

Anonymous said...

Anyone that is afraid to call the police on these punks should use a track phone. lets not let these goons win

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Anonymous 9:07, I agree. I think I'll start doing that.

I just moved from N. Spaulding two months ago, and now there are gang shootings? Horrible!

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Anonymous 2:49, yeah, it's horrible, but it's gotten like that in this neighborhood.

have been watching the george and ridgeway corner for the last week. a group of 5-6 regular guys are there with guns and drugs. One is a bit older (40'ish) with tatoos all over his back. Two are younger...they meet here in the morning, eat breakfast and throw trash and beer bottles all over. driving black small Geo tracker.

two women (who live there) are also involved with this group. they had a big fight friday night and saturday morning - lots of yelling and screaming.

on weds 3/31 around 6pm police stopped two guys in a silver sedan. when the two guys drove away (turning south on Hamlin) two younger men (teens) threw bricks at the car. Police did not follow or seem to notice.

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Anonymous 8:56, now these guys have guns? This is getting real serious. With the way they're acting, somebody's going to get shot real soon. I mean, they already had a gang fight (what time did that happen? I was in bed by 1am but didn't notice anything before hand).

I'm surprised the police didn't notice or seem to notice those guys throwing the bricks at that car. You would've thought they did, since a loud bang or a glass breaking noise would've been heard.

Are you available on the 28th? I really think you should come to the next CAPS meeting. It's at the Copericus Center on Milwaukee. The cops need to know all of this information so it can help them in whatever they need to do. Other residents could use this information, too. I'm asking you to come because they really won't do anything if it's just me reporting it, and they'll be questioning me why I didn't call them (which I haven't because I've only seen them walking down the block and I'm told that CPD can't really do anything about that, and I haven't seen nearly half the stuff you've been seeing).

Horrible stuff. Something has got to be done about this.

Anonymous2 here....Anonymous & Crime Blotter, I know there's bad stuff happenning in our neighborhood. However, we need to focus on the positive, and doing the right thing. Call the police for illegal and disruptive activity. Get to know your neighbors, and band together to report and prevent crime. Join the neighborhood in cleaning up (could even be your own front yard or the street in front of your place)...Ever notice how the trouble gathers at properties that are a mess?...Are you two old enough to remember what a mess Wrigleyville back in the day? Look at it now. Avondale has that kind of potential! Stay positive. Stay focused. Criminals are notoriously lazy.

AvondaleLoganSquareCrimeBlotter said...

Anonymous 5:56, I try to focus on the positive as much as I can, but it's hard to in a neighborhood like this. This is why I go to the CAPS meetings and participate in community events.

I have tried to meet my neighbors, but most of them on my block keep to theirselves and aren't concerned about the neighborhood. They just rather see it go downhill.

I'm already involved in clean-ups. Just this Saturday (4/17), I participated in a two hour clean-up on Milwaukee Ave. from Belmont to Lawndale. Also, every weekend, I make an attempt to pick up garbage in front of my building.

I don't remember Wrigleyville being a mess in my lifetime (I was born in the early 90s).
