EMS Run On Armitage

Good morning, everyone, it's 10am. Yeah, it's late, but I stayed up until 5 this morning. Anyway, I am completey done (finally) with monitoring other Zones. I finished that earlier this morning. Now I can focus on this blog a lot more. Well, today, it's supposed to be in the mid 60s and party cloudy. Let's see what will happen with it being only a few degrees above average. Here's crime for today.

10:21am - EMS run. 3635 W Armitage.

10:36am - Disturbance w/ a mental. 3713 W Shakespeare.

11:04am - Domestic disturbance. 3952 W Wabansia.

11:31am - Traffic accident. Wrightwood and Central Park. Injuries.

11:38am - The 11:31am accident is on 14's side. I'm guessing Dispatch will send a ticket over there now?

11:50am - A tow is being ordered from the accident. The car's at 2600 N Central Park. Also, 2593 tells Dispatch to disregard whatever 14th District unit was assigned, she'll do the paper.

11:57am - I'm taking a break until 1:09pm. I'll be back.

1:09pm - I'm back :).

1:10pm - Info for the police. 2614 N Harding.

1:53pm - Traffic accident. Fullerton and Hamlin. Caller hit a 12 yr old bicyclist who said he was ok then took off. Caller wants a report.

1:58pm - I think there's an event today at St. Hyacinth's, 3636 W. Wolfram, because there was a precession which beginned at Roscoe and Long but then went down Belmont (I think) because I heard something about Milwaukee, then I heard Wolfram. I've also seen a lot of Polish flags today. Update: Here's the news article on this.

2:07pm - Beat 2563Adam has a handwaver at George and Central Park.

3:15pm - Gang disturbance. Ridgeway and Altgeld. Four of them flashing signs.

3:28pm - While Beat car 2523 was on their way to get gas, they got a handwaver at Milwaukee and Hamlin, by Taco Bell, regarding possibly drunks causing a scene.

3:42pm - Some job at Lawndale and North involving a car heading north in the east alley.

3:57pm - Loud music disturbance. Kildare and Drummond.

4:21pm - Loud music disturbance. 1821 N Pulaski.

4:42pm - 1) Loud music disturbance. On Shakespeare. 2) Person down. Fullerton and Central Park. Male down. EMS is not en route.

4:43pm - Gang disturbance. George and Hamlin. Four of them flashing and playing loud music.

5:11pm - The 4:43pm job is coded 5Eddie.

6:03pm - Battery in progress. 2700 block of N Kilbourn. Group of people fighting. Originally came in as a disturbance with people hanging out and playing loud music.

6:17pm - Disturbance. Pulaski and Armitage. Two people arguing in the Marathon gas station. Beat 2594, the unit that's detailed to this intersection (I think only for today at least), will check it out.

6:28pm - Gang disturbance. 2400 block of N Ridgeway. Three of them flashing by the church.

7:00pm - Person down. 3831 W Fullerton.

7:19pm - Beat 2546 is going in with a TBD from 2543 N Kilbourn.

7:25pm - Vicious animal. Mozart Park. A man is allowing his unleashed pitbull to scare children.

7:53pm - Loud music disturbance. 2952 N Avers.

7:58pm - Disturbance. 3620 W Wolfram. Kids playing ball and stuff, in the parking lot.

8:13pm - I have to go. Good night, everyone. But, before I go, I do have an announcement: look out tomorrow on this blog. I'm going to have a special post up with a comment from a member of the CPD regarding the manpower shortage. It should be interesting. See you all tomorrow :).

That would be the mourning procession for the Polish leaders killed in the tragic plane crash in Russia.

I was wondering what if you know what happened early this morning (around 1 am) at approximately Armitage and Cortland? The street was blocked off for some time and there were a lot of emergency vehicles (at least 10) but I can't find anything about it online. I didn't see any cars, so I was concerned that it wasn't an accident and was instead something gang related. I would like to know if this is what's going on in my neighborhood!

Hi Allyson,
Could you give me a better cross street, please? Armitage and Cortland run the same way. I wasn't listening in on our neighborhood radio. I was monitoring a different frequency at the time. But I can try to find out what happened.

Oh, oops. I meant to say Kedzie and Cortland! Just south of Armitage.
