Happy Veteran's Day 2009

Good morning, everyone, it's 1:07am. Happy Veteran's Day to all. Today, I'm monitoring north of Belmont for the residents in Avondale who reside there. Anyway, today is supposed to be sunny with highs in the mid 50s. We'll see what happens today. Here's crime.

12:00 to 1:07am - Was asleep. Sorry.

2:59am - Suspicious vehicle. School and Ridgeway. In the alley between Ridgeway and Lawndale, a tow truck is driving too fast with a car on the hook. And that's a "suspicious auto" call? Sounds more like a reckless driver to me.

3:00am - I'm off to get some more sleep. Will be back in a couple of hours.

9:00am - I'm back. Good morning.

10:36am - Beat car 1724 has a station assignment to Elston and Addison.

11:13am - A unit is doing a park check at Parkview.

4:37pm - Traffic accident. Milwaukee and Pulaski. In the CVS parking lot. Yes, this is the first job today.

5:00pm - Beat 1795 is asking for a call back on the 4:37pm job.

5:02pm - No answer on 1795's call back. Coded 18Boy.

5:14pm - Criminal trespass in progress. 3402 N Kimball. Four males in the basement of the vacant property.

6:19pm - Burglar report. 3221 N Sacramento. Storage place.

6:33pm - Beat 1745, who responded to the 6:19pm job, says there's a school at 3221 Sacramento. It's Linne Elementary School to be exact. They're asking for some kind of call back.

6:50pm - I have to go eat. I'll be back soon.

7:07pm - I'm back. Be advised, the batteries on the radio are beeping. They may die out soon, so I'll finish whatever monitoring for 17 I have to do on Friday night.

7:33pm - This is serious. It's not in the coverage area, but two calls have came in for explosions so far. One call came in at Peterson and Cicero and another at 5774 N Kercheval. On the Kercheval call, two loud booms were heard within 10 seconds of each other. At Peterson and Cicero, a big boom was heard with a flash in the sky.

7:35pm - A slow down is given at Peterson and Cicero.

7:39pm - Explosion now heard at 5700 N Kerbs.

7:46pm - People at Caldwell and Kolmar are asking about the explosions.

8:00pm - I have to go. Good night, everyone. I'll be back with 25 tomorrow and 17 on Friday night at 8pm.

I do not have any more information on them, sorry. I'm curious as well. Maybe I can try looking up some information later today.
