Homeless People Under Viaduct In Dangerous Weather, Females Trying To Get In Apartment On Wabansia

Good afternoon, everyone, it's 4:30pm. I'm monitoring 14 from now until 5:49. I truly hope everyone is keeping warm in this dangerous cold (for those of you who don't live in Chicago, it's -11 degrees right now). Don't go out unless you absolutely have to. CPS schools will be closed tomorrow as will many private schools. There will be many places available for shelter, and to find the nearest one, please call 311. Let's do all we can as responsible and good citizens to check up on people who are less fortunate or don't have anywhere to go. With that, here's crime for a portion of this early evening.

4:33pm - Check the well being. Diversey and the Kennedy Expressway. Several homeless people under the viaduct with blankets.

4:37pm - Information for CPD. 17XX W Wabansia. Two females were at the back door and tried to get in, but they fled east on Wabansia towards Paulina in a black CRV.

4:53pm - Traffic accident. 30XX N Kedzie. Hit-and-run, caller's car was hit parked out in front.

5:01pm - Every two hours, all officers in the City must go through viaducts and underpasses to look for any homeless people. If any are located, officers MUST relocate them to the nearest shelter.

5:07pm - Information for CPD. Belmont and Kedzie. Large brown box in the street.

5:28pm - Traffic accident. 17XX N Paulina. Truck wedged itself on top of a car.

5:43pm - Check the well being. 27XX N Richmond. Elderly man disoriented in front.

Some homeless people refuse the shelters in any weather. Spend a night at Pacific Garden Mission & you can understand why.
