Homicide At Bloomingdale and Francisco Last Friday, Possibly Gang-Related

Hello, everyone. I apologize for firstly reporting this following information so late. I received the email a few days ago, but my time management schedule has been horrible this week. But I will get straight to the news here and report to all of you that we've had our first murder in Logan Square for 2013.

It occurred last Friday, the 29th of March (on Good Friday, to be exact) near Bloomingdale on Francisco at 8pm. A 22 year old man, who lives on the 1700 block of Francisco, according to the email I received on this from the CAPS Beat 1421 Facilitator, was walking with his stepfather down the street when a car consisting of three men pulled up and asked the two for directions. Then they opened fire. The younger man, our homicide victim, was instantly killed while the older man was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious condition.

This shooting is possibly gang related, according to 14th District CAPS Sgt. Reyes, as there was a shooting a few nights prior to this one at Albany and Bloomingdale. This indicates increased activity and possible retaliation.

If anyone has insights or information, please don't hesitate to reach out to me here, my email address or the Facebook page. As a reminder, comments will be highly moderated as well.

As long as they shoot each other, who cares. Enough of the "turning his life around nonsense" These kids are just a drain on our system.
