Good morning, everyone, it's 12am. It's a clear overnight with temps in the upper 30s and it'll remain that way late tonight into early this morning, and it'll get into the upper 50s with sun. I'm blogging 25 from now until the first call of the day, then I'll head to bed and start blogging at 9:30 again, until 2:41pm. At 2:41, I'll take a break until 3:56. At 3:56, I'll come back until my dinner, and lastly, I'll return at 10pm with Zone D, until midnight. Not doing too much today, just going to make sure my mother is okay. This week, besides going to class, I have two community events I need to attend. The first one is on Wednesday at 6pm at Riis Park. It's a Town Hall meeting with my alderman, Alderman Reboyras. Then, on Thursday, at the corner of Diversey and Ridgeway at 6pm, the Avondale Neighborhood Association is sponsoring an outdoor roll call and positive loitering event, and once again, I'm one of the main coordinators behind it. We are not just going to be out there standing on the corner. For this roll call/positive loitering event, we are asking the community to bring out snacks and/or games (for the kids) so while we send a message to the criminals and gangs, we also have fun. Please feel free to contact the ANA or myself if you have any questions, comments or concerns. Here's crime for portions of today.

I've noticed many of the vacant (abandoned) properties are being destroyed by the homeless or groups of strippers looking for metal inside. If there's a vacant building near me, can I board it up or secure the doors since the city isn't locking these properties up? I don't want a fire or other type of crime near me.
Our area seems to lack police service. Could we posibly get more footguys to patrol the city streets? Many of the police could use a little bit of footwork too. Just like years back, they had footmen.
