RadioShack Call On Kimball, Flower Shop Downer On Milwaukee

Good morning, everyone, it's 8:30am. It's a rainy morning, with temps in the upper 50s. It's going to get into the lower to mid 60s today. Anyway, my monitoring schedule will be as follows today: I'm monitoring 17 from now until 11:45, then I'll be monitoring 25 from when I'm done eating my dinner until 10:30pm, then I'm going to monitor 14 from 10:40 until midnight. So a little of everything today, you can say. Here's crime for portions of today.

8:32am - Some call at the RadioShack, 3224 N Kimball.

10:05am - EMS run. 3288 N Milwaukee. Sick man down in front of the flower shop.

10:38am - Traffic accident. 3407 N Kimball. Injures.

11:45am - I'm gone until my dinner. I'll see you all later. Have a great afternoon!

7:24pm - I'm back. Good evening.

7:49pm - Loud music disturbance. 22XX N Kedvale. Orchestra in the backyard.

8:38pm - Beat 2561Charlie is on a street stop at 27XX N Lawndale.

8:53pm - An RD number has been pulled from the 8:38pm thing. It's HT512720 with the event number of 16926.

9:29pm - Person calling for help. 29XX N Ridgeway. Female screaming in the alley. There's another call, for a loud music disturbance, at George/Ridgeway.

10:18pm - Gang disturbance. Lawndale and Shakespeare.

10:21pm - Traffic accident. 3641 W Fullerton. Hit and run.

10:24pm - The 10:21pm offender is at Central Park and Fullerton.

10:25pm - Offender is now at Shakespeare and Lawndale, where the 10:18pm gang disturbance is.

10:30pm - I'm gone with 25 for the night. I'll be back with 14 in 10 minutes. Standby...

10:40pm - I'm back with 14, and there is a theft job on the 2300 block of W Medill.

10:41pm - Beat car 1434 asks for a robbery mission event number. It's 19363.

10:42pm - Shots Fired. 35XX W Cortland. One shot possibly fired at a party.

10:45pm - A slow down is being given on the 10:42pm job.

10:58pm - Disturbance. North and Wood. Lot of people out there.

11:03pm - 1) They're calling back on the 10:42pm job. 2) Parker. 17XX N Spaulding.

11:14pm - 1) Person down. 3501 W Fullerton. Male down. 2) Loud music disturbance. Drake and Fullerton.

11:21pm - Battery in progress. 25XX N Fairfield. Male fighting the caller's daughter.

11:26pm - Theft in progress. Fullerton and Damen. In cab #1703, the passenger didn't give the cab driver the fare, and is trying to say the driver hit them.

11:32pm - 1) Gang disturbance. 30XX N Kimball. Several of them flashing signs and jumping into traffic. 2) Loud music disturbance. 2970 N Elston. At the bar.

11:34pm - 1) Loud music disturbance. 34XX W Diversey. 2) Parker. 30XX N Spaulding. Permits. 3) Parker. 26XX N Spaulding. Permits and a car parked on the hydrant.

11:37pm - Loud music disturbance. 19XX N California. Party.

11:41pm - 1) Loud music disturbance. 35XX W Palmer. Party. 2) Loud music disturbance. 28XX W Palmer. Party in the alley.

11:42pm - Disturbance. Armitage and Leavitt. Two drivers arguing.

11:47pm - Traffic accident. Sacramento and Fullerton. Yellow cab #1125 hit the caller's car. It fled towards Richmond.

11:48pm - Suspicious person. 22XX N Leavitt. Males hanging in the alley and trying to get into the caller's garage.

11:54pm - The 11:34pm jobs are coded. One's a 5Boy and another is a 6Nora.

11:56pm - Beat 1442 has a couple of curfews at 3000 W North Ave.

12:00am - I'm gone for the night. I'll be back with 25 in the morning. Good night, everyone.

I heard you moved to Kentucky. If so, why listen to the police scanner here?

Where did you hear that from? I did say I might have to move out there, but right now, I'm still in Chicago. If I do move, I won't be listening to the scanner anymore. But I'm still here.

Man, those liquor stores rob the homeless. They sell cheap vodka for high prices. $5 for a pocket pint of vodka? Saw at Jewel a 1.75 bottle for $9. Perhaps the liquor commission should check out these stores?

Thanks for your blog, I read it all the time even though I don't live in your district. Sorry to be off-topic, but I listen to the scanner in my districts (19/23) and was wondering: do you know what a "number 1 parker" and a "number 2 parkers" are? I hear that used often but never sure.

#1 parkers are supposed to be written, #2 they usually don't write. #1 is usually a fireplug or handicapped spot, or alley blocker, etc... # 2 are those alderman nonsense tickets, cops can blow those off.
