Burglar Alarm Stems From Gang Disturbance On 1422's Beat

Good morning, everyone, it's 4:45am. It's a rainy morning out there, with temps in the mid 60s. It's going to be around 72 today, with the rain ending and sunshine coming out later in the afternoon. Anyway, I'm monitoring 14 from now until about 6:15, when I have to leave for school. I won't be back this afternoon because I have a meeting I need to attend this evening at 7pm. I'll be here in the afternoon tomorrow. So with that, here's crime for this morning before I go to school.

5:15am - Burglar alarm call, somewhere on 1422's Beat. Officer says there was a "gang disturbance" and an "assault" call at this location earlier in the night.

5:39am - Theft in progress. 16XX W Cortland. Car being broken into.

5:46am - The offender stole a shoulder bag and a laptop.

5:48am - The theft is coded as a 19P.

6:16am - I have to go. I'll be back tomorrow. Have a good day, everyone!

I just love when folks call in thiefts in progress, and sit there waiting for the police. Why not after the call going out and kicking some butt?
