Good morning, everyone, it's 7am. If you're wondering why I'm on at 7 in the morning on a school day, it's because I don't have to be at school until 10:30, because of sophomores and juniors testing. Anyway, it looks like I'll probably only blog this morning, as I have my CAPS Beat meeting this evening, but we'll see. I may get some more reporting in. I'll be back for sure with this blog in the afternoon tomorrow. So, with that, here's some crime before I go to school this morning.
7:31am - Burglar alarm. 20XX N Lawndale.
8:22am - CTA bus alarm. 2800 N Pulaski. On CTA bus #1985, standing northbound.
9:10am - I have to go. I might be back this afternoon or this evening. If not, have a great day, everyone!

8:47pm - I'm back for a little bit.
8:49pm - Person Shot. 24XX N Lowell. Male shot in the leg. Caller says the shooting occured at Kilbourn and Diversey.
8:52pm - Shooting's bona fide. EMS needed. Victim is confirming the shooting happened at Diversey and Kilbourn.
8:53pm - Victim is shot in the lower leg and is going to be taken to Masonic.
8:57pm - Beat 2572 is assigned to look for a crime scene.
9:03pm - The victim says there were five male Hispanic offenders in a van.
9:04 to 9:10pm - Some basic police/dispatch chatter about the shooting.
9:11pm - The shooting was apparently gang-related. Had something to do with Cobras. They allegedly flashed signs at the victim before opening fire.
9:14pm - 2572 can't locate a crime scene.
9:17pm - 1) Disturbance. 3090 N Milwaukee. Homeless male loitering. 2) Landlord/tenant dispute. 29XX N Lawndale.
10:09pm - I have to go. I'll be back tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good night.

Why can't we enact sensible gun laws? A national ban on all semi-automatic firearms is needed. Hunting weapons have no place in a civilized area (city, town, village) If one must own hunting weapons, they should be stored at their hunting lodge.
LOL @ gun bans. Bans don't work. What's the point of having them if thugs obtain guns ILLEGALLY?
