Fire On Washtenaw

Good morning, everyone, it's 5am. This is the first full day of no more anonymous comments on this blog. Once again, I apologize to all of you well meaners out there, but I'm not going to let a certain idiot comment to where I get depressed. I don't need depression right now. I have so much going on in my life as it is. Anyway, I'm monitoring 14 this morning for all of you. With that, here's crime before I leave this morning.

5:17am - Fire. 1806 N Washtenaw.

5:30am - Suspicious vehicle. 1659 N Maplewood. Gangbangers in a maroon van, circling the area, shouting at citizens and smoking marijuana.

5:50am - Ok, people. I'm gone for the day. I'm spending my time this afternoon preparing for my local CAPS meeting tonight. See you all tomorrow, and be safe!

Wow, did you see they finally boarded up the "Club Gibbons" at 2933 N. Avers. Just got to find the rest of them out there.

huh? it's been boarded up for months...squatters were in and out all day Monday...cleaning...setting up "Bum World: life at it finest" (written on the foyer wall, seen by all when front door is open)...I called the police four times...they actually have their own key to the front door and the gate...

Yeah, Rosco, Dawn's right, it's been boarded up for a few months. At least the back of the building, that is. Also, Dawn, I brought this up for you tonight at the CAPS meeting.

Update: we're both right. The "cleaning crew" (a bit of a rag tag bunch) that was prepping on Monday was hired by the bank; the entire building has been re-boarded up much more securely now.

BTW: new Club Gibbons stencils have appeared on the boards of 2941...

How many of these Gibbons clubs are out there?

Dawn, good to hear about 2933, but that's not good hearing about 2941 having those signs.

Rosco, not totally sure, but there's gotta be at least five of them.
