Street Lights Out @ Belmont/Milwaukee Ave., Loud Music On Springfield

Good morning, everyone, it's 2:17am. It's a snowy morning with temps in the mid teens, and today will be snowy with temps around 20. Average day for early February, I guess. By the way, I know I haven't really been posting lately, but this second semester of college has me really busy. I have four classes, so that's eight hours of coursework each day. I also have other personal things I'm doing and working on, so that doesn't help. But I'm going to try my very best to blog at least three times a week this month, if not everyday, for this month. March will be a very limited month for my blogging, at least for the first half of the month, as I have mid-terms to worry about. The end of April and beginning of May will also be a period of very limited blogging, for finals. I'm not sure what my monitoring schedule is going to be for May through August yet, as I'm not sure if I'm going to take any summer classes or work just yet. I'll know by the end of this month or in March. Anyway, today, I'm monitoring 25 from now until my dinner, and I'm monitoring 25 tomorrow from after my dinner until a little after midnight. With that, here's crime for today

Just curious. Are you using the scanner app for either iphone or android?

No, I have an actual police scanner in my home (two, to be exact) that I listen to. Also, I don't own either one of those electronics.

What's the city doing about all these vacant proprties on the beat? Seems many are becoming nests for the homeless. Don't you worry about them starting a fire in one to keep warm?

Thank you anonymous 2:01. I appreicate your support :).

Anonymous 5am, you can just go to the RadioShack at Belmont and Kimball (that's the closest one I can think of) and buy one there. That's where I've gotten my last two from. I do live in the neighborhood, but I technically live in Avondale since I'm right at the border of the two neighborhoods (Diversey).

Anonymous 2:29, the only thing the City can do is board the places up, I guess. And I do worry about that a little, but what can I do? I'm just a resident like you and everyone else.

Tim, what model do you have? Is there anything specific you need to look for in a model to get CPD on the scanner? Thanks.
