Good morning, everyone, it's 12am. It's a rainy morning with temps around 40, and today will remain rainy until this afternoon with temps rising into the upper 40s, then falling back into the 30s. Actually, we're supposed to get a snowstorm with two to six inches of snow possible later this afternoon into this evening, with blizzard-like conditions possible at some points. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, I'm monitoring 25 this morning from now until 5:53am, then I'm headed to bed and off to do other things, then I'll return with 17 from 5:45pm to 7:07. With that, here's crime for this overnight/early morning and a portion of this evening.
12:06am - Beat car 2534Robert has a traffic stop at Armitage and Hamlin.
12:20am - Shots Fired. Lawndale and Armitage. 11 shots heard from two different guns, a dark-colored van was hit during the gunfire. The van's window got shot out and someone possibly got hit. It fled towards Central Park on Armitage. Two males, one in black clothing, and one in a red sweatshirt, fired the shots.
12:21am - Beat car 2535R is advising Dispatch to let 14 know about the shots. Also, 2525R says they're in the area and that they didn't hear anything.
12:22am - A slow down is being given per 2535R. Nothing seen or heard yet.
12:26am - A total disregard is being given now on the "Shots Fired". It's going to be coded in a couple of minutes.
2:35am - Fire. 29XX N Ridgeway. Two cars.
4:07am - Check the well being. 31XX N Kenneth.Unknown female screaming by the back gate.
4:27am - Burglary in progress. 17XX N Monticello. Someone's breaking into the garage.

5:45pm - I'm back. Good evening, everyone.
6:31pm - Shots Fired. 3300 block of N Ridgeway. Five shots heard.
6:34pm - Beat car 1733 is giving a slow down on the 6:31pm job. They haven't seen or heard anything yet.
6:37pm - They're calling again on Ridgeway. Four shots this time.
6:44pm - Assault in progress. 3400 block of N Ridgeway. Two males arguing.
7:07pm - I'm going to go for the night. Have a good night, everyone, and be safe!

There's a homeless man living in the yard at Monticello and Barry. He claims the police say he can stay there? Can't we get the city to do something about these homeless? Possibly deport them?
Mary, I believe the homeless are welcome to stay in the police stations. Just pack'em in the lobby.
I think the police strongarm the homeless for their beer and pocket change. When I was young the police were worse than firemen when it came to taking one's stuff.
Mary, yes, he can legally stay there. That's private property, and unless the owner of it is willing to sign a complaint, there's not much CPD can do.
